The GM, Josh, and Mark were FANTASTIC. We will go back just for that reason - and would give 5 stars for our interaction with them. It's rare that someone can pick a beer for me and Josh was 2 out of 3 on his suggestions. FANTASTIC. The beer selection is not listed but there are 85 choices and quite a few of these are well worth visiting the Barge for. On top of that, these were probably one of the best fried shrimp dishes I've ever had. Yeah, the drinks could have helped but they were perfectly fried and crispy while being moist and flavorful within. The ahi tuna (in a wonton shell with sauces) could have used a better quality of fish but was tasty and well thought out. We'll be back. Thanks - Josh and Mark - for making the bar feel like "our place". It was clear everyone else felt the same way and that's pretty darned rare these days. read more

I really wanted to love this place because it's a gem location but... It needs a lot of polishing. We were a party of 7 and seating was immediate, cool! We were promptly recognized and all seemed great. The menu is short and sweet IF you have the items posted. They were out of 3 items, not a biggie right? Well if you have 12 items it is! Our enthusiastic waiter recommended the 'famous' bushwacker after I was told that this glorious gem location of a place didn't serve frozen margaritas..ummm? Ok, bushwacker it is. Zero taste. I really enjoy this place. The atmosphere is great and the service has never been a problem! I have been for steak night and was not disappointed; I have had the crawfish and I was satisfied. I would recommend this place to step it up a notch with the chips, queso and salsa order. It came on a huge platter looking the part, but I was very disappointed in the quality. You can tell it was nacho cheese straight from the can and warmed up. I would hope to see this order of "queso" be revamped and become a little more unique like surrounding places. This place is amazing. They have done an outstanding job. The music sounds great upstairs - there's a very nice bass tone. We arrived about 20 minutes prior to the kitchen closing and our server was able to get our order in. The Darrell's Tribute is spot on with the Darrell's Special in Lake Charles (I'm from LC and have had the Special many times). All of the staff we encountered were great. We came here for dinner and drinks. My husband wanted to watch the basketball game, and they happily changed the channel so we could watch it on the big screen from our table. The service was excellent. The bartender was attentive and the chef came out to talk to us a few times to check on us. We all really enjoyed our food! The avocado BLT was delicious and had a good kick to it! My friend really liked the Philly Cheesesteak. The menu was a little bit limited but everything we ate was delicious!! My husband & I love to try out new places so when we found this one we were excited about it. We had a flatbread pizza as an appetizer ( the chicken Parmesan). It was very good and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. The band that was playing was very good and it was an enjoyable evening. The bar tender was awesome. Can't beat the location and the staff is great! We've been many times and always go back for the lake breezes and fresh air. This was the first time we ate. My husband was craving nachos and has always been so excited to try theirs. They looked great. We had pulled pork added (which was delicious on its own). The taste however of chips/tortillas is odd. After a few, I think I figured out that they are fried in coconut oil. I'm a coconut oil fanatic / even put it in my coffee. But it overpowered the dish. Will pass on those next time. Went there for Sunday brunch with friends. We docked the boats and went inside. We were the only ones there and couldn't get the waitress to look away from her phone long enough to get her attention. We ordered drinks and waited for 8-10 minutes for them to get to us. When the manager finally came to take our order we were about to leave. We decided to stay and order. That was mistake number two. We ordered from the brunch menu because they wouldn't let us order from the lunch menu because they were only serving brunch till noon. Keep in mind we were ordering food at 11:55am. So we ordered. Our food was horrible and greasy. Nobody finished their food. I had the shrimp and grits and the shrimp were swimming in soo much grease I didn't want to eat it. Maybe if you just want to watch disco lights and order drinks it might be ok. But I can assure you that the 8 of us will not be going back there. read more
