However, found the food subpar at best. Price is OK but food didn't stand out in particular- felt like a typical burrito place and the jerk chicken was kind of meh. meat wasn't super great and toppings were pretty regular. I anxiously awaited the opening and the day finally arrived on January 5th! My hubby stopped in to order take-out and was warmly greeted by everyone including a rep from their head office. We ordered several items for the fam as everyone was eager to try out the food. This is what we ordered: Steak tacos - tender meat that was seasoned very well. Fresh toppings - especially the guacamole. All taco orders come with a side of tortilla chips and salsa. Pulled pork tacos - hubby's fav - very well seasoned pork, fresh toppings in a hard shell. Did not fall apart at all. Ground beef tacos - my oldest just started eating tacos. She has tried them at another local spot (in addition to restaurants in the GTA) but this one is her fav by far. Yum Yum I have always been a burrito fan but since burrito Boys are too far these days BarBurrito is a great option. The online ordering makes this super easy and clear. You know what you can add, what options can be mixed, levels of spice, which salsa and sauce you want to explore or if it's an up-charge, which it's always the Guac. I once ordered an extra super guac burrito and the total was close to fine dining pricing, but it was so darn delicious!! This time was the fish burrito, soft fresh chewy wrap to hold in a pound of fresh toppings and sauce. The wrap made it through without exploding which earns some credit. It was a bit heavy on the rice but they did a great job rolling it all in with fresh battered crunchy fish in the middle of it all. My friends had the other burrito flavours, jerk chicken, pulled pork, beef and chicken bowls and everyone polished it off with no scraps to spare. Really happy that for a large group order, everyone got what that wanted correctly, everyone loved how tasty and fresh it was. We didn't think we could make it through this heavy pound of burrito but we did and didn't feel gross and thirsty afterwards. Previously I had mistakenly gone an hour early to pick up the order my daughter made. It was sitting on the cold countertop! Not safe for meat/fish! Feedback to BarBurrito got them to say they would train their staff on food prep. I waited 6 weeks and we tried again. I went 10 minutes early, the food was barely warm after again sitting on a counter. Staff said it had been readied only 5 minutes before and thought "warm" was safe. I said I was not happy & a person who was a leader came to again say it was warm. I told him I have been trained in Hot Food prep & storage & worked in the field & just warm is not safe. He would not confirm whether the staff had had any re-training. They prepared another fresh order. Upshot - The prepared orders are not set under any appropriate heaters and are not safe. If you order online, get there immediately or order in person. read more

Very happy to have a Burrito Place closer to home. We've had Bar Burrito a few times now and it's been good. We love to be able to order from the app and just show up and pickup! Food is always fresh and plentiful. We have loved everything we have tried. We've had the Burritos, The Bowls, Quesadillas and Tacos. This past visit I tried the fish tacos and they were great. Loaded with toppings and a nice piece of fresh fish at the bottom. I will definitely be exploring more of the taco menu. This is my usual joint for burritos and burrito bowls. Most of my visits are based on convenience. The food here is average and typically when ordering on Uber eats for pick up, they are slow. I usually order a chicken burrito or burrito bowl. Nothing really stands or is poor, which is great for a franchise and consistency. Some instances when I order food off the app, I would arrive and the workers would then start preparing my food. I recommend ordering a lot earlier than arrival to ensure that you don't have to wait. read more

Decided to try this place last week and ordered online for pick up. Online ordering is straightforward so no real issues there. When we arrived to pick up the food the order wasn't quite ready yet so we had to wait, but the owner went over and above to make things right. Their customer service on this visit was excellent. When we got home with the food we weren't disappointed. We had ordered the Fish Tacos Combo, Jerk Chicken Bowl and a California Pulled Pork Burrito combo. As a personal preference I found the chipotle sauce in the burrito to be a bit on the sweeter side for my liking, but overall the food was tasty and filling. Customer dine-in service was fast, friendly and accurate. BUT the chicken burrito (chicken pieces) were few and large so you don't get chicken in every bite. Did a online order for pickup. Website was easy to navigate to place order and checkout was easy to review order before checkout. Food was ready withn 15 mins after order was placed (ordered 2 Burritos) was greeted by employee behind the register who was cheerful and spoke clearly even while wearing a mask ... most are muffled.... my order was ready and on counter. Once I got home both Burritos were packed and wrapped nicely and tight. Both burritos were stuffed and tasted amazing no complaints except I should ordered side of nachos. Will be going back again as they have burrito bowls and tacos... worth a try if you are in the area. read more

2.5 stars out of 5 Whenever we try a place where there are not much reviews, it's always a gamble. Part of it is really to find out whether the restaurant is worthy to be in our list of regular restaurants for takeout. As a new restaurant, you want to make the best impression for your future customers. We ordered online the regular soy ground in both burrito and naked burrito. We also ordered a churro In general the prices is on par with Burrito Boyz but the portion sizes are surprisingly small (see picture). At Burrito Boyz, their ground soy is cheaper than their fish but at BarBurrito both ground soy and fish are the same price. We do like the fact they have churros because not many places have them. I also wished they had a chicken that wasn't spicy so that my child could also have some. They also don't have green onions as a topping which I think should be a basic topping for burritos. I believe their red salsa and green salsa sauces have some kick to it. Taste-wise, the burritos are better than the Grab n Go Burrito on Main St but not better than Burrito Boyz. There wasn't enough toppings to balance the heaviness of the rice and beans. The churro was delicious but then again, you can't mess up fried dough. Messing up fried dough is like messing up fries. While waiting for my food, you can't tell the servers there were not very experienced. They looked like 6 students scrambling to finish a group project, communicating with each other with many hand gestures. They gave us cutlery even though we said no cutlery. It's understandable because I hear they just opened up a bit more than a week ago. Hopefully, they get their bearings and become more efficient. When you enter, one of the lady tells "Welcome to BarBurrito!" to make you feel welcomed. We don't think we'll come here anytime soon because we've been spoiled by Burrito Boyz. However, if they improve we may consider returning but not in the near future. read more

I was so excited to see a new restaurant popping up in the area. My entire family stopped by the first day they opened. Everything was great - food, service etc. Fast forward to a few months later and I am very disappointed. 1. It takes a RIDICULOUS amount of time for them to prepare the food. Don't bother ordering ahead because your food still won't be ready on time. 2. The app, since day 1 has not worked for me. Excuse after excuse, nobody scans it. Who knows how much I have missed - they just can't be bothered to have a look into that to get it fixed. 3. Portions are crazy. I get tacos and all I am getting is an exorbitant amount of sour cream, cheese and lettuce and i can barely see any meat! They cut the cubes of chicken so big, that in my last order, there were 3-4 in the entire medium size burrito. They quesadillas are always made so messy because they go crazy with the cheese and no balance between the cheese and chicken. Tossed into a box and the whole thing sticks together. Try to take it apart and everything oozes out. I could go on, but this is it! Gone is the great service, quality and quality control of the first month of their opening. Huge turn around of employees and sorry, but they just don't seem to care how they throw the food together. 3-4 people working, i should not have to wait 40-50 minutes from ordering to pick up for my food. You are much better off eating at Binge Burrito which is less than a 10 min drive away on Main Street/Markham. read more

Tried their bang bang shrimp bowl! The sauce was great and the shrimp was delicious. The rest of the bowl felt pretty bland- I could have definitely sauced it up more. The management is amazing, such friendly staff and very good customer service. I asked for another taco for my pickup order and the owner insisted that I wouldn't pay for it because he didn't have an add on to do so. As well as he gave us 2 drinks instead of 1 because they were out of the one we were looking for. Good quality food as well and an overall great experience. I have never been to BarBurrito but i'm so happy I had my first experience at this location. Might have been the best customer service I have ever received on top of that my food was so fresh! I couldn't decide what to get for myself and my manager, I received so many great suggestions from the staff ! They walked me through each ingredient to ensure i'd be satisfied for my order! They provided multiple options for my manager as well! I loved talking to the staff and felt very comfortable and confident taking my order. I have never experienced such great hospitality.
