The food was amazing! The ribs I got were flavorful, tender, and smoky. They were served with a sweet barbecue sauce. The two sides with the ribs were mac and cheese and slaw. The mac and cheese was creamy and delicious!! The slaw was really good, it had a vinegar taste which is different than what I'm used to but good nonetheless. I had their cornbread, it was good a little sweet and dense. The service was good, and the mood in the place is very laidback.

Dining area. Order your food and your meal is brought to the red door/window.

MUST TRY BARBECUE. Traveling from out of town we were unfamiliar with the area, we looked on yelp for places to try and came across this diamond in the rough. Upon pulling into the parking lot you'd think maybe you're not at the right place or perhaps it's drive thru only but once you see the trophies in the window you know you're in the right spot. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We placed our order and our food was brought out in no time. I even have to say, before talking about the food, that the lemonade was outstanding and home made. I had an outstanding Arnold Palmer with it. Between the 4 of us we had the Brisket, Pulled Pork, Chicken, and Ribs; all of which were delicious. For sides, we had the baked beans, green beans, mac & cheese , and the soup of the day which was a brisket chili. I can't over emphasize how on point and delicious the sides and main dishes were. The barbecue sauce was also some of the best I've ever had! If you're looking for a crowded sports bar with big screen TVs and big crowds then this isn't the spot.. If you're looking for a low key vibe with home style food and atmosphere, then this is your place!

We were in the mood for some BBQ, but didn't want to travel far in the rain one evening. So we checked yelled, and read the reviews, and decided to stop by and try them out. Thanks fully they have a drive-thru, so we didn't have to get out in the rain, so unfortunately I can't comment on interior of restaurant. We decided on an order of wings and fries, the brisket Mac and cheese, and a pulled pork sandwich. We needed up sharing everything, so we got to sample each other's meals. The cashier asked us which sauce we wanted for the wings, and we said whatever she recommended since we were newbies...so she put both their red and white sauce in the bag. The wings were ok... not my favorite, but good. My husband's brisket Mac and cheese was.. meh... the brisket was good; the macaroni was generic and lacking flavor. The pulled pork sandwich was also decent... but nothing to write home about. Maybe our experience would be different if we dined in. I wouldn't be opposed to trying this place again, I just probably wouldn't seek it out.

This is a whole in the wall place that most just drive right on by without ever stopping. We were craving some BBQ and the next nearest place was on the other side of Trussville, so we finally decided to give it a try. It was raining, so we decided to go through the drive through. While the food was fresh, they definitely took their time to get us our food. It was 10-15 minutes sitting in the car waiting. They apparently had some no shows that night due to the weather. The staff that were there were very friendly. We had some smoked wings that were very reminiscent of Moe's smoked wings. They came with red and white BBQ sauces. Next up was some brisket mac and cheese (very tasty, though I wish the brisket was cut up more) - it spoke to me, and had to be ordered. Finally, we got a pork sandwich as well to try it out. Overall, the meal was pretty good. I will come here again, though I might call my order in next time to speed it up some.

I'm in the Trussville area often and have noticed this place for a while, but today was the first…read moretime I finally had the chance to try it. For context, I'm a certified KCBS BBQ judge and run a small BBQ catering business. That doesn't make me special, but it does mean I know BBQ. Rodney Scott is well-known in the BBQ world for whole hog, so I've been looking forward to trying his food for a long time. Today was the day. I ordered the 3-meat plate with ribs, pulled pork, and turkey, plus two sides. Ribs: Excellent smoke flavor and seasoning, but very undercooked--they needed at least another hour on the smoker. I received three bones, managed to eat most of two, and left the third. Big disappointment. Turkey: Tender but dry, and it tasted like it had been sliced a while earlier and held. Very neutral flavor with no smoke or seasoning coming through. Just okay, but I'd skip it next time. Pulled pork: Completely underwhelming. Tender, but almost no flavor and none of the smoke I expected, especially after tasting the ribs. Mac and cheese: Grainy and not enjoyable. There are several reasons mac and cheese can turn grainy, but either way, I'd pass on it next time. Collard greens: Surprisingly good, but I was shocked they didn't have pepper juice available--a Southern staple with greens. I'd eat these again, but I'd bring my own pepper juice. Overall: I left disappointed. I mentioned to the staff--who were very friendly--that the meal wasn't good, but it was brushed off. With the level of anticipation I had for Rodney Scott's, this visit didn't come close to expectations. I don't see myself returning.

First off, your staff is friendly as ever and it's close to time to shut it down after the Sunday rush. Wendy and Stephanie is holding it down. They working like y'all just opened up. Thanks ladies! Now on to this food, cause this is why we here. I got my God Sister with me today. She is a picky foodie cook, but could hardly make her mind up here. She got chicken and dressing, hamburger steak, Mac and cheese and green beans. This gull hungry and trying to get everything. (She's a newbie) . Bae got his usual, Chicken and dressing, turnips, butter beans and sweet potato casserole. Mommy got fried shrimp with a baked potato and turnips. Deedee got grilled shrimp with a baked potato and green beans. I got chicken and dressing with Mac and cheese and green beans. This stuff here good like it used to be. Y'all back! I don't need no fancy tables, no nice table cloths and dressed up waitresses, I know where to go when I want that. I want this down home, yo cousin tried to cook it like grandma used to, soul food! Bam, White House got it. I'll be back.
