Almost a regular here while in Conshy area for work. Love love the Brussels sprouts appetizer, I will eat brussel sprouts 365 days a year and this maybe my favorite preparation ever. A few friends and I tried Bar Sera for the first time since the rebranding and we enjoyed dinner! Let me start by saying that the pesto gnocchi pocket is possibly one of the best apps I've ever had - I wish they offered the basil pesto sauce as a sauce for a main pasta dish, because I would eat the sauce alone with a spoon! We also tried the burrata stuffed squash which was an unexpected combination - but delicious as well. For dinner I opted for the Bar Sera Burger (pictured) - it was cooked perfectly and had so much flavor, but it was a heavy choice after the apps we'd add. I wish it had a fresh element because the flavors were so rich, but the flavor was wonderful overall. I opted for the zucchini chips and was surprised how thin and crispy they were, I really liked that they were offered as an alternative to fries! We were too full for dessert but will definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu. Our service was wonderful and the interior is decorated beautifully. I believe the owner or manager checked in on us a few times as well, which was appreciated. Bar Sera is located in a town with a tongue-twister for a name----"Conshohocken". I understand that is a Native American word. The town itself is rather charming, and some of the streets lined with pastel-painted row houses reminded me of San Francisco. I attended a memorial gathering at Bar Sera for a dear friend from Los Angeles who originally hails from this area. The red-painted walls in the main room are attractive, as is the lighting fixtures. There is an interesting painting near the entrance door. We were offered a variety of dishes, including Arancini, Detroit Pizza and Caprese skewers. The pizza was disappointing. We ordered the Patricio pizza with hot honey on the side and the Hector Street Corn pizza. Service was excellent and we liked the atmosphere. I'm very familiar with Detroit pizzas, and was excited to find them in Conshy. These had the crispy outside crust that they should. The problem was the sparce toppings. The Patricio had almost no sauce and I couldn't detect much in the way of Wisconsin Brick Cheese. The Street corn was interesting, but dominated by bread. read more

The food was so good, we got the burrata and brussels for appetizers and they were delicious. Of course, the pizza was unreal as well. Cocktails were A+ and you know we took limoncello shots. I went here for lunch. The food was quite tasty overall and it has a nice outdoor patio along with a good drink menu. Two stars off for insanely slow service. My wife and I had our child with us--I think it took 30-45 minutes to see a menu and order, 30mins from then to get the beer we ordered, and we paid our check around 1hr 45mins after sitting down. This was not due to our wanting to take a long lunch, everything was just really, really slow. The restaurant wasn't busy. I'm not really sure what took so long. Takeout orders may have slowed the kitchen, but there's no reason for a beer to take 30 minutes when it was us and four other tables in the restaurant. read more

They need to put something in there to help with sound so I don't feel like I'm eating dinner with concert level noise. The food was mixed. We really enjoyed our calamari. The burrata with peaches was ok. The bread for it was a bit stale. My friend got the cheese pizza he said it was ok and I got the steak which wasn't good at all. Before arriving, we checked if we needed to make a reservation but it showed multiple tables and times available so we decided to just show up as we are local residents. When we arrived it seemed like it was an inconvience that we did not have a reservation as the host was visibiliy irritated. Halfway through our meal, our server left without telling us. We were waiting for drinks we ordered and we saw her get changed, sit at the bar, order herself a drink then leave the restaurant. Eventually another waiter came over after 45 minutes of us waiting and told us he will be taking care of us because our server worked a double that day. We asked about our drinks which took another 20+ minutes and at that point we just wanted to leave. We tried to be understanding and explained our frustration and we still had to pay for the drink we originally ordered over an hour prior. It's cute here but very loud. Hard to have conversation. After reading other reviews, it seems many other people have the same complaints. Side note: You might get lucky with parking but it isn't the easiest in this area of Conshy. Probably won't be returning even though the food was good. Sad because I love supporting my local restaurants! read more

In a quest to try any Detroit pizza I can get my hands on in the Philly area this place popped up on the radar thanks to a coworkers recommendation. Overall $24 for a large pie with pepperoni. Little lacking in the sauce department but the dough was fluffy and light, the way a Detroit should be. Pepperoni cups were sliced medium to thin and were ample in number. Cheese and cheese edged crust was good but not the best ever. Solid and worth a try. read more

We had our interest group end of year celebration here. They were amazing to work with- answering questions and being flexible. When we realized that we weren't going to have enough people to make the private upstairs space worthwhile (it is expensive, but one of the most reasonable locations we spoke to), they let us switch to a large table in their downstairs public room. Since we had a luncheon, it was pretty quiet and it was only towards the end that a couple other tables were occupied. So I give positive reviews for good people, but the food was also amazing. I wanted to eat as much as my belly could manage of the salad, risotto balls, and the chocolate mousse berry dessert. The frittata and pasta were also good, just not my favorite category of dishes in general. I plan on proposing that we return for our end of year luncheon next year and will probably bring my husband at another time before then. read more

Besides the environment, the food itself is really crafty but it definitely hit the spot. I had the mushroom bruschetta and it was out of this world. For my entree, I had the lobster carbonara which will ultimately put you to sleep since I was sooooo full from it after I was finish; but it was also amazing. Ayim, our waitress - who was on her first shift as a waitress - was so polite and did an awesome job making sure we had the best experience. Came here to dinner with my wife and 9 yo son. The food was absolutely delicious and the service by Colby was amazing. He had great suggestions, such as the Sledgehammer cocktail and the Fayette pizza. I'm usually not a fan of Detroit style pizza, but it was amazing. The scallops were also delicious. We finished the night by splitting the homemade gelato and the Biscoff mudino. The food was amazing and the service by Colby even more so. He engaged with our son and they even talked football. Took my daughter and little cousins for a little "ladies" night. We sat on their outside patio the ambiance was amazing and our server Matt was super attentive and friendly. We had a great experience here last weekend. To start, our server was incredibly welcoming and helpful. We were a party of three adults and one child, and he made the recommendation that our littlest group member might enjoy the chicken fingers that aren't on the menu, but they make for kids. They were GOOD. I'd order them for myself if it was socially acceptable. They were clearly made from scratch with great quality chicken... a total home run! As for the adult food and drinks, we were incredibly pleased. Two of us ordered the ahi tuna and it was cooked perfectly and gorgeously presented. The third adult on the party was able to do a bit of a mix and match with the available options to make a salad he really enjoyed, which was great of the kitchen staff. Our cocktails were delicious (and pretty, too!) The staff were very attentive and kept the space feeling clean and safe for the duration of our visit. My only sadness was seeing how GOOD the pepperoni pizza looked on our way out! We will have to try that next time!!! read more

Alcoholic options are diverse and I like how they divide them into "weird " and "not so weird". We started with roasted carrots- holy crap- who knew carrots could take like this- served with a chimichurri cream and greens. Hubs had a perfect pork chop and I had nduja ravioli in brown butter. Freaken delicious and perfect for the complimentary focaccia to sop up. We took home a pizza for our daughter- a fantastic specimen of Detroit style. This place has a lot of potential and is very cute, but I am not into over spiced food, although I do like medium spice. The atmosphere here is super cute, farm house style, and they have a great menu to choose from. I had the crispy chicken sandwich with the spicy sauce on the side and glad I did. It was over the top spicy! The problem though was the chicken was over cooked which definitely was not pleasant. I also had the Brussels sprouts with honey sauce and it was so spicy I had to slam down my rose just to dial down the heat but the flavors were definitely there! Service was slow, our server kind of ignored us after the meal came. Wine list is legit, they have a couple of selections from Daou. I would try it again in the future just try and get something less spicy. The butter and bread were amazing. read more

We are local residents who took the time and energy to walk to and try this restaurant. Resy showed they had plenty of reservation times available, so we did not make a reservation. Upon arrival, the hostess told us that the only seats available were at a shared high top table in the bar. Updating my review since this restaurant changed names and menu to become Bar Sera. Still the same owners. They just decided to rebrand and change up to a menu that works better for them during the pandemic. I think it was honestly a great decision on their part. Great new menu and the pizza is to die for! Atmosphere is still the same but they also added some operable windows to help with some outside air. They have a fun vibe, not super casual but not fancy either. Great date night or happy hour to dinner place. So their main new menu item is the pizza! I never had Detroit style pizza until I came here and I absolutely love it. The crispy edges with the soft doughy center is just the most amazing texture combination. And you can't go wrong with the traditional pepperoni option. Those little peps are crispy, slightly spicy and overall amazing in flavor. The pizza has great flavor too. You can tell they use good ingredients for the best overall flavor including in the dough. Definitely check it out even if it's for takeout as this pizza travels really well! Also, their crispy Brussels sprouts and other apps are delicious. Definitely recommend this place for anyone who is in town. read more
