Every drink we had was amazing from a simple screwdriver that blew my mind (first screwdriver I've ever had with freshly squeezed orange juice ) to the "smile you son of a bit**" which creative touches and flavor were amazing (clever funny name , small shark gummy on top, and amazing flavor) Atmosphere - when you first walk in it is a chill bar scene with relaxing dim lights and high tops then as you proceed further in there is a stage with great live music and entertainment (depending on the night you go it changes). Atmosphere 2- then if you proceed all the way out to the patio it transforms to a beautifully lite romantic setting where it's quiet and you can talk , great for if you have a date or met someone there you wanted to get to know better . Pros: The atmosphere and the music was awesome. I cant complain, it was my 1st time there. I would definitely go there for that. Check on their website for the different venue that they have that night. Cons: There are only 2 bathrooms, so theres a long line... be prepared. And the bartenders were a little slow. This was our first time here to see Dovydas. It was such a great atmosphere. We ordered 4 drinks while we were there for the 2 hour band set. Drink prices were typical for that area. Can't rate the food since we didn't order anything but I did see that it was brought in paper lined picnic style baskets. The bar had a pirate theme and the restrooms were very clean and very well kept. Had a little nook area that looks like you were on an old pirate ship. Great for pictures. Overall would definitely come back. Music was amazing. Sound was awesome as well not to loud and could still enjoy the music!!! read more

My friends Pena Maxima played last night. I thought it would be full of hipsters but it was very nice, cozy, a great large patio area in the back to smoke, drink, and relax, cool staff, the sound is on point, and good pints. I will definitely return probably for the Smiths cover band Ordinary Boys. Parking is on the street, but pretty easy to find. Beware you can only do it for 3 hours, so right when it ends, renew it so the city doesn't give you a ticket. read more

My first experience at Bar Nancy was a very good one. We got there shortly after they opened so the crowd was a bit light but that was fine. The owner Ben was great. He took the time to tell us about the history of the bar. He and his staff were great. We took advantage of the great 4-7 happy hour they have. I typically don't like nautical themes but they took it to a far more creative level. The bar has a small to medium size front area, a large size booth off to the side and a pretty good sized patio out back which had a really cool look and vibe. The drink menu was creative. Something for everyone and the drink names - from 'Smile, you son of a bitch', to 'We're gonna need a bigger boat' - just added a couple more laughs to an already fun visit. It's more of a neighborhood place than a touristy joint. The local customers were friendly and fun to hang with. They have live music too. Drinks were made very well by Ben and his team and the prices were really great. Parking in the area can be a hassle in peak hours Im sure but around 500 we found a spot easily out front and it was only a few dollars to park for a couple hours. Birthday festivities for a good friend and we started of at Bar Nancy to check out Happy Hour. I was so excited to hear that HH is all weekend long from 4pm-7pm. We got there right on time and we started of with two Donkey Punch that are a twist of the Moscow Mule. It was so refreshing and one of the best I've ever tried. After we finished our drinks we met the owner Ben and convinced us to try his old fashions I was hooked!! We finished our night with two more drinks and the best part was the price $7 for all speciality drinks during HH regular $14. The drinks are truly amazing and all of them are made with LOVE. They have inside and outside seating with a live band that plays around 9pm on the weekends. During the week they have an old skool hip hop night but I'm not sure which night. Bar Nancy is a true gem in the Little Havana area. It is a small business, family owned, and not run by one of the many corporate giants that run the Miami and Ft Lauderdale area. The drinks are great, the atmosphere is fun, themed, and well done, and the events are always offering something for everyone. Nancy is located on SW 8th, so street parking is your option. I have never had a hard time finding a spot nearby, so it isn't a problem at all. Once you walk in, you are taken back to the Revolutionary war era. The bar has a nautical theme, dark lighting, and a large Revolutionary War flag hanging on the wall behind the stage (This is NOT a Confederate Flag!!). If you go out the back door, there is also a large patio area with an outdoor bar. The menu is filled with drinks created by the mixologists at Nancy. Everything has some sort of nautical name, and the drinks taste great. They are currently transitioning the food menu, but normally have a full menu as well. For the time being, they encourage you to order in from Uber Eats, Postmates, or whatever delivery service you prefer. They have all sorts of events. There is Trivia on Mondays, acoustic guitar singer/songwriters on Wednesdays, a DJ on Fridays, and local bands on the weekend. Nancy is the kind of place you can hang out at, enjoy, and come back to often. The staff is friendly, the vibe is positive, and the drinks go down too easily. Great bar! Clever nautical theme, reminiscent of being inside an old wooden ship. If I had more drinks there, I could've sworn I was in line for an alternate Pirates of the Caribbean ride. It's everything I like in a bar - subtle theme decor, clean, ambient noise but still quite enough to have a conversation without yelling, very attentive staff, & great drinks. We had the $10 old fashion that was advertised in a chalk board above the bar. Did not disappoint!! Perfectly made & speedily served. We originally came here for a bbq restaurant run behind the bar & that was a disappointing experience. Bar Nancy staff was super accommodating & each staff member separately offered to not charge us for our drinks - even though the mishap was out of their control. Cool bar with indoor and outdoor rooms! They have a very cool sitting area between the inside and outside patio. I have been there before and heard one of the live bands which was really coo! They played classic rock songs which is one of my favorite genres! Last night they had a tribute to the Kitchen Club and played lots of Cure and other alternative music from the late 70's and early 80's! Which I also love!! I remember going to the old Kitchen Club on South Beach on 22nd St! It was awesome! I used to get in when I was a teen! But we won't go into details...anyway everyone was vibing and dancing to the music! Loved the energy! Would've stayed longer but was a bit tired! There is street parking and I've been luck to find parking right in front both times so it's possible to get good parking. Outside sitting was good maybe needs a couple more chairs to sit in but otherwise this is a very cool hang out place! Bar Nancy is a no fuss new addition to Little Havana night life. The bar is super cozy but has a nice space and outside patio area. This will be great for when the cooler temps hit Miami. We came in on a Saturday night and the vibe was super fun and laid back. The dj was throwing down a nice mix of tunes that had us shaking our tail feather on the dance floor. These days when I think of bars that I want to spend my hard earned money in, Bar Nancy is really the only bar that comes to mind. It's off calle ocho right next to Mi Rinconcito Mexicano (if you use Waze, it will most likely take you to the wrong place so use Mi Rinconcito as your landmark to get there) and it looks like a hole in the wall from the outside but the inside is deceivingly large with a main bar area, stage, private enclave next to the bathrooms, and a back patio area with another smaller bar. As others have mentioned, they have happy hour from 4-7 which consists of EVERYTHING being 50% off. Real talk, you can't beat that. To make the deal even sweeter, they have seriously awesome bartenders who know how to make a mean drink. Whether you go for one of the cool cocktails they have on the menu or you stick to traditional drinks like an old fashioned, you'll be happy no matter what. Everyone who works there is friendly and this can easily be considered the neighborhood bar. They were even open right up until the day Hurricane Irma hit and they were so welcoming, it's like they knew that the only way to stay sane after making those long Home Depot, gas station, and Publix lines was to enjoy some libations and I'm forever thankful for that. Yes, it's little dark inside but the nautical decor is cool and the music they play is great. When my cousins-in-law invited us up from the 'burbs to go to Bar Nancy to see a Journey tribute band, I looked forward to the visit after reading our Yelp CM's glowing review, among others. For me, though, it was somewhat of a Jekyll/Hyde experience. Arriving early, free residential street parking was readily available a block away. It wasn't busy and initially, our server (who I won't name for reasons to be explained) was very cordial. Said server took the time to mention the ingredients of the 2 cocktails I tried. The Donkey Punch was a refreshing alternative to a Moscow Mule, but it was just ok. I preferred the other one, the Smile You S.O.B. This drink, with 2 types of tequila, hits you hard initially, but is leavened by mango and blackberry shrub, leaving a nice subtle fruity finish. Curiously, even though the website has a menu of bar food, we were told the kitchen was closed (on a Saturday night with live band??)...however, one of the people in our party called ahead and was advised it's ok to bring your own food. So we had chips with salsa and guac at the table. Some other people brought in pan con bistec from a nearby bodega. When I inquired about this, one of the staff said they were considering "hiring an outside contractor" to operate the kitchen. Whatevs.....I wasn't that hungry. As the night progressed, I wanted to downshift to beer, as the cocktails do have a pretty heavy pour. I saw someone nearby order a tallboy Bud, yet when I asked for one, a different server vehemently stated, we don't have that. And it wasn't on the menu, but I eventually got our original server and she was able to get it. Idk if it was a special, but it was $5 for a 16 oz. can. Eventually, the band took the stage about 10:30. A quick aside about the band, Main Street, if I may. They were really good. They have a frontman with a charismatic stage presence, as he urged the audience to join in on the chorus of songs. The first set was comprised of 9 hit songs by Journey. The lead guitarist was channeling guitar god Neil Schon's virtuosity note-for-note. At this point, I was having a great 5-star time and really enjoying myself. Alas, I don't stay out as late as I once did, and wanted to close out my tab. This is where horrible customer service really buzz killed my visit. Our original server, so cordial only a few hours before, repeatedly ignored my wife's request to close out. Other parties at our table attempting to close out also experienced trouble with this server. We observed her actually disappearing to the back of the club for an extended time. When we approached her again at the bar, she, sad to say, appeared to be impaired via an unknown substance, with slurred speech and inattention. She then stated she'd misplaced my credit card. For almost 45 minutes, my card (and us by extension) were held hostage. Said server was observed having a loud verbal argument with one of the bartenders as well. When I asked another server to assist, she came at me with attitude! Finally, a man who ID'ed himself as "one of the bosses" miraculously re-appeared my credit card! He then gave it to one of the bartenders. This gentleman quickly (and correctly) compiled my tab. He extended to me a $10.00 credit and a complementary beverage, and I appreciate that, but by then it was a case of "closing the barn door after the horse bolted" I explained to the "boss" about the impaired server, and I sympathize if she has a problem, but management's job is not to make her problem MY problem. Bar Nancy, for me, barely ekes out 3 stars. The only way I'd come back is if a) I'm already in the neighborhood b) only for happy hour when it's less hectic and the prices are more reasonable. AND, I'd use the tedious, antiquated system of pay cash as you go after this tab debacle! I definitely don't need to drive 16 miles to be exposed to poor customer service. read more

I will admit, the name sounds generic. No worries, they don't have a basic fiber here even if you searched for it. This is basically the epitome of a perfect bar. Very rarely have I received the level of service at a bar on a Saturday night like the type I was welcome with here. Ashton immediately attended us and even made a recommendation after asking what our drinking preferences were. The decor is totally fetch. Not to mention, I got a shark gummy bear in my drink which obviously is totally photo worthy. The patio outside is private, comfortable, and still suitable for social mingling. They have drink specials after 7pm which apply to weekends as well which made a few sets of drinks totally affordable. There's plenty of meter parking about a block west since it's on the quieter end of the strip so keep an eye out. I can't believe it took me so long to check this spot out. The place is decorated exactly how I would envision my ideal bar which makes this place so much cooler in my opinion. They were so very happy it was nice to be around them. The outside is very beautiful with nice trees and lights and we just had a cool time. The hubby and I are big DM fans. I saw the advertising on FB and immediately, we knew we had to go. We got there at 11:30pm, no cover charge, btw, and it was super packed. It was a bit of a mission to get a drink at the bar, but no biggie. The crowd slowly started to leave around 12am or so. I get it, we just can't hang like we used it. No issues there either because the tables and bar area were now half empty. I can't testify before 11:30pm but can you believe we had to ask the DJ to play Depeche Mode songs on an advertised "Depeche Mode tribute" event?. He mixed in 5 different DM songs in 5 minutes. This place has everything you could want from a bar. It's a little hard to describe because it straddles genres. At first glance, it has the chill, laid-back vibe of a dive or neighborhood bar. But the nautical/early 18th Century Americana decor makes it more of a themed bar, with the highlight being the incredible main shelf that looks like the stern of a Revolutionary Era sailing ship. And then you discover that it has impeccably crafted cocktails that stack up against the very best that Miami has to offer. Oh, and live music. I guess you really can have it all. The owner/bartender is an incredibly friendly and social guy who loves talking about drinks (particularly how he invented the remarkable cocktails), Miami nightlife, etc. The kitchen belongs to the team that does the Monsieur Poutine food trucks, and poutine may just be the ideal bar food. As a Northerner, I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the dark, unassuming door on Calle Ocho. Huge, colonial Old Glory greeted us on the far wall when we first walked in. The bar, looking like an old ship, displayed all their liquors. We ordered a drink named after a patriot from our country's history and a can of craft beer. Their food was slightly better than bar food, as their Sloppy Joe was delicious - sweet bread with potato sticks, and the onions gave a little kick, but their chicharrones were not like real chicharrones (Cuban fried rib tips), but thin, fluffy, fried chips. Everything about this place was fantastic. Service, ambiance, menu and drinks, the list goes on. Friendly bar-tending staffs aren't really a dime a dozen in Miami, but Bar Nancy definitely has one of them. My friend and I peppered them with questions about the menu that they happily answered and when we moved to the awesome tiki bar in the back they even stopped by periodically to make sure we had anything we needed.
