This unassuming place is so super yummy. We were the only ones there at 2:30 pm and had great service. Calamari was delectable, portobello sandwich was outstanding. The waitress recommended the Nutella French toast and the presentation was above and beyond. The French fries looked like they'd be amazing with a seasoning but were only ok as it was just parsley sprinkled on them. Nice portions, too. I'd return again & again! read more

Best Italian food that I have had in a while. It's a quaint little gem hidden in an upscale bar atmosphere inside one of the local hotels. You'll have to hunt for it as there's no signage. Not open Mondays nor Tuesdays. We were only 1 of 2 tables being served on a Thursday. So, we were tended very well. I rarely take left overs, but it was just that good (and generously portioned). Good food but service was a sh!t-show. Took 2.5 hours to eat our meal because the bartender/server kept forgetting to put in our food. Our server disappeared and no one checked on us for large stretches of time.. Taste is good but some of the dishes were very basic and some very tiny courses (including the steak) in our tasting menu. I might've even Shazam'd a few new favorite tunes. The food was delightful. Any food or drink recommendation from the chef down to a stranger is on point. Mostly because you can't miss with anything on the menu. My favorite was the gnocchi and specialty grilled cheese. (Spoiler alert I went back 2 days later). While the food is great and the atmosphere is delightful, what really shines is the staff and their service. They honestly made Bar Luca feel like a familiar place even though it was my first time. I had went here on my visit with my family. Overall the food was great, the fettuccine Alfredo is great but the cast iron chicken wasn't all we expected it to be. At first, service was great but when our main dishes came around they had served us 1/3 dishes incorrectly. When mentioned, they took an extremely long time to bring out the correct plate. Once done, we were charged full price but they did accommodate to us asking for a price change for the waiting inconvenience on the food. It's a cute place to dine, but the chairs are very uncomfortable to sit on after you're sitting for some time. read more

I stayed at the Sonder Hotel and the receptionist recommended the restaurant and the bar in the hotel. I kinda rolled my eyes because most restaurants in Miami just aren't good and way overpriced. Bar Luca is very well priced but with better quality food and palatable creations. The ambiance and design is beautiful and quaint feeling. THE FOOD IS SPECTACULAR. The attention to detail, combinations of flavors, presentation, everything! I could have stayed all night trying things. I loved my drink too. I can totally recommend Bar Luca as I've pretty much eaten every where in Miami. The whole staff at the hotel is just fabulous too! read more

The restaurant has a dim moody vibe to it that is further enhanced with little flame lanterns that don each table top as the evening progresses and the lights are dimmed. Met the Chef and Manager and very down to earth nice people. Started with a Cheese Flatbread, really good! Bar Luca is legit. I'm an Italian American who grew up in Providence Rhode Island. My family and I ordered the bread service, Alfredo and cod puttanesca. All were great but the cod was exceptional. This dish brought back memories of my childhood when I would eat at Italian social clubs with my uncle. The staff were attentive and friendly, especially the manager Mohamed who personally checked on every table. We had our 3 year old daughter with us and were still treated with dignity professionalism. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Miami Beach. read more
