Had an amazing experience at Pikio Taco! The food was great, but what really stood out was the bar and the service. Aldo, Juan, and Daniel were absolutely fantastic--friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The margaritas were seriously good--fresh, perfectly balanced, and easily some of the best I've had. You can tell they take pride in making every drink right. Even though it's a smaller restaurant, the atmosphere and hospitality make it feel special. Aldo, Juan, and Daniel really went above and beyond with their service. The food here is great. Came here for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised how everything we ordered was delicious. We ordered the ceviche, burrito, and tacos. We went home really full. Food took some time to come out but it was delicious. The meat was so flavorful, the ceviche had the right amount of acid, and the chips were crispy. The service was okay. Some of the best tacos in Miami across the street from The Palms hotel - highly recommend the Mexican street corn dip to start. The chicken tacos and burrito are also delicious, and not too big of a portion size. I felt comfortably and delightfully full after eating my app/meal. Also, while you may be tempted to eat outside under the Miami sun, the ambiance inside is awesome. Don't be afraid of the stools, they're actually very comfortable to sit on. read more

I was thinking of giving 1 star or less but the location is pretty good and the ambiance is nice if you want to feel a bit of a party vibe while eating dinner. Service was awful but not the worst. They at least know to greet their customers but having a person come over to get our orders took about 10 minutes. We didn't even get served water! So we were just sitting there waiting thirsty and hungry. I saw a pitcher of water with plastic cups by the door thinking maybe we were supposed to get it ourselves but a few minutes later, the table next to us got served water and had their orders taken pretty fast. I like that.There's a variety of burgers as well as quesadillas and also a good selection of cocktails and mocktails. I got the quesadilla.Which gives you the option of blue corn or flower tortilla, the blue corn is a unique texture and experience. And was very much authentic in my impression. My friend and I were in Miami for a short girls trip for relaxation so we weren't looking to go far from our hotel. The Pikio Taco was a short walk walk with similar food to what we were looking for. The food was delicious. She ordered a pollo sandwich with the fanacolida drink and I ordered the carne asada tacos with a mojito. We sat out outside. The service was lacking in speed and consistency. She received her sandwich after about 20 minutes. 15 minutes later drinks were not served. She went to ask the bartender and had to wait for them to finish their conversation with friends talking about how they should return to work. I finally got my tacos after about 45 minutes. With its cool tiki/Caribbean theme decor, it serves Tex-Mex dishes as well as typical American dishes. Food quality: I did try their Al pastor taco with a side of tortilla chips. The beef seasoned greatly and the taco was filled with fresh condiments all served in double corn tortillas. It had fresh taste - wish they served them with a slice of lime for more freshness. The tortilla chips are your run of the mill chips with regular salsa- nothing special but not bad. Drink: Fineapple Colada was ordered. Great balanced taste. Although after a couple of minutes, it did look like it was curdling but that can happen with alcohol and dairy products. For a cocktail, it did not have a kick whatsoever. It's good for hydration. Cost: Miami is expensive - it should not be a surprise. For the cocktail and al pastor, the cost run about $38 with a 10% guest discount. Not cheap and certainly not within a regular hostel goer's budget but one must try it once. About this "scheme" mentioned above. If you were planning to attend one of the hostel's event that involves pikio, especially if they're offering free drinks, please do your integrity a favor and don't. In order to get the "free Pikio punch" you are required to place a 5 star positive goggle review about the restaurant especially mentioning a couple of names that work there. They will not give you the drink until you show them the review you will post. It is the most manipulative scheme I've seen at a hostel. Shame you are praying on these guests. No one is sending these warning out because they have flooded the google review with false 5 star positive reviews. Please be warned Overall: a one try restaurant - if you're desperate. read more

My bf and I were craving tacos so when he found this spot, we decided to give it a go. First off, their elote is AMAZING! If you like cheesy elote, this is the spot. I got the carne asada tacos and he got the chicken quesadillas. Mine were pretty good. Nothing too special, but I enjoyed them. We sat at the small quiet bar.. The Al Pastor had a TON of fat chunks. I've had this many times in San Diego and it's never been like this. The server assured me with was how al pastor is.... I think not. She was nice enough to let me exchange my meal for something edible. The quesadillas were mainly cheese with no meat. My mans Al Pastor burrito was cold and mainly fat chunks.
