We chose this hotel since it's dog friendly (view website for restrictions) and $75 fee. They had just opened that day from Covid restrictions. It is only like a 3-5 minute drive to downtown Bar Harbor and 5 minutes max to get to Acadia. I have always found parking in Bar Harbor (coin or app parking meters -free after 8pm, free until noon Sundays) Free hotel parking, we were upgraded to oceanfront room and had free breakfast (La Bella Vita). The oceanfront views were AWESOME!!!! The landscaping and grounds are beautiful!!! There is a pretty path to walk in front, nice outdoor heated pool, hot tub and water splash area and a tiki bar with an extensive resort like fun drink menu. Stewmans has a restaurant on site (closed when we were there), with outdoor seating options and a La Bella Vita here which also serves the breakfast. This is an IHG brand under Holiday Inn but much nicer than I expected. Our floor and room must have been updated. Room amenities: Iron and ironing board, in room safe, hair dryer, Kcup machine, fridge, we had a balcony with 2 chairs and a little table. There's tennis courts on site and coin operated laundry. There is an Island Explorer stop here (though not running when we were there). We also Olys Trolley parked on the side so not sure if they normally run from here. Most people "patrons" on site wore masks and all staff did. There was no automatic housekeeping service you could call ahead for it, or just get more towels, etc. They have you fill out a form verifying you are not sick or have symptoms.

This is where we go and stay at bar Harbor breakfast buffet used to be our go to before COVID. Pool overlooking the ocean splendid drinks and burgers very convenient at tiky bar . Beautiful landscaping. Highly recommend

Entrance from parking lot to eden house.

We had an absolutely terrible experience staying here. The hotel is old and very out of date. Landscaping is overgrown, floors are dirty. Eden House is the run down motel building at the corner of the property with no security or front desk. Toilets are gross, garbage and dirty dishes were left in hallways for days, and it smelled. Avoid at all costs!

Our stay at The Bayview Hotel was the best travel experience our family has ever had. As parents of…read moretwo young children, it was amazing to have it feel relaxing and fun for everyone--but The Bayview somehow managed to do exactly that. It wasn't just a vacation; it felt like we were genuinely cared for from the moment we arrived until the day we left. The attention to detail throughout the property is exceptional. Every member of the staff was warm, welcoming, and eager to make our stay special. We were constantly amazed by the thoughtful touches--from the personalized treats waiting for our kids, to the beautifully folded laundry returned in a charming basket (what a luxury for a mom on vacation!), to the nightly turndown service that made us feel completely pampered. Breakfast each morning was outstanding and we all loved the afternoon teatime! Chef Tricia and her team created delicious, beautifully prepared food. it was lovely to be able to pop in for breakfast or afternoon tea and treats each day. Our children loved the nightly s'mores around the fire pit, the playground, and wandering the shoreline trail to climb on the rocks by the water. Those simple moments became some of our favorite family memories. The complimentary shuttle into downtown Bar Harbor made everything incredibly convenient, and the hotel's location--just minutes from Acadia National Park--couldn't have been better. My daughter and I enjoyed taking the shuttle to the sister property for morning yoga. We enjoyed all the beauty and adventure of the area while always looking forward to returning "home" to The Bayview each evening. A very special thank you to Vinet at the front desk, the manager, Chef Tricia, and every member of the team. You each made us feel truly special. The level of hospitality you provide has really set the bar. Our week flew by. We left feeling refreshed, spoiled, and already talking about when we can come back. Thank you, The Bayview, for giving our family what was truly our best family vacation yet. We can't recommend this hotel highly enough!

This is their number one asset, and they treat it that way. The room highlights the view perfectly, and the grounds are impeccable. - The room was nice, clean, and everything in it just right. The room cleaning staff was excellent. - The extra touches were a delight: chocolate strawberries for our 34th anniversary with a note, the water bottles, turn-down service with little gifts. Little touches like that around every corner. - The breakfast (and food in general) exceeded our expectation. Whoever they have in the kitchen is doing a bang-up job. - The front desk staff was gracious, helpful, and prompt. The concierge helped us with reservations and itinerary. Top notch. - The shuttle was great. It made the hotel's distance from downtown a non-issue. - We had a minor issue with an overly-enthusiastic dog (remember this is a pet-friendly hotel btw), but the staff and management handled it quickly and professionally, again making it a non-issue.

All of the staff were super friendly and accommodating from the moment we pulled into the parking lot to all of fhe restaurant staff being super kind with letting us order dessert pretty close to the time when their kitchen was closing (thank you). We did not opt for a "ocean view" room so we did have a view of the parking lot, but lucky enough that if we just turned right we could see the entire ocean. Our room also had an outdoor patio so you can sit out there and just enjoy the air and the Maine views. The outdoor area where the pool and hot tub are located is absolutely beautiful, with a breathtaking view of the ocean. It is sooo beautiful out there on the back patio area and there is plenty of lounging furniture. Would definitely suggest for an upscale little getaway! And if you do visit, try the tiramisu for dessert, it was so good!!! :)

The food was cold and late. They refunded our breakfast but the plastic and cold food left a bad taste. We also tried to make a couples massage and they only had 2 male masseuse and one female masseuse. Not practical for such a large hotel. The grounds were beautiful and can host large parties and everything is within walking distance. Not sure I would stay here again because it was an ok stay.

I had a minor meltdown upon check-in bc it appeared they had given our room to someone else and we called to complain to the manager, Josh, who upgraded us and was SO nice. Our new room was beautiful in the main building with a gorgeous view of the water. They had a welcome card for me and chocolates and a small gift for my birthday. We were impressed with everything here. Staff were friendly. Rooms are beautiful and well-appointed and comfortable and upgraded. Room cleaning was prompt and efficient (they were in and out within an hour of our walking out every day). Their lobby has games to play, newspapers, and 24/7 access to hot chocolate, fresh coffee, and fresh water and sparkling water on tap as well as a nice business center/printer computer. The women's restroom even had personal items out if you needed them. The rooms are unique and the architecture is different. Very charming hotel in a very charming town. The included continental breakfast was one of the nicest I've had included in a room charge in a long time. Large selection of fresh pastries, hot items, cold items, coffee, juice and tea as well as fruits always being replenished with care and attention. We enjoyed everything about this hotel. Thank you to Josh, Ashley and even Tyler who gave us a history lesson about the inn and the town. We will be back.

They were definitely not the quality that I usually get at a Hampton Inn. For some reason, the mattresses were marked with the word "summer" in black. I have no clue why. Possibly they put the bad mattresses out for high season. The other furniture in the room was outdated and the fabric was stiff and scratchy. It was not like any other Hampton Inn that I've ever been in. It felt like a two star hotel. They don't even have a microwaves in the rooms. The breakfast was adequate. They had lots of options, but when paying over $500 for a room, I kind of expected a little more when it came to the quality. The staff at the front desk changed my room but it didn't make a difference. I did not sleep good not one of the three nights. The pool area was well kept and the grounds were beautiful. I enjoyed sitting at the bench on the hill taking pictures. Only stay here for the view.
