Wet dirty towels on chair in hallway

DO NOT STAY HERE The hotel is old, dated, dirty, damp. Their pictures only show what they want you to see. Carpet throughout is filthy. The carpet in our room was always damp and disgusting to walk on. Sheets and towels were stained. Sheets are the cheapest quality. Pillows are old flat and hard. We had nobody clean our room the first morning and had to go ask for new towels. The second morning housekeeping came but they didn't not clean up the leak from an old crinkled up refillable bottle of hand soap used by countless guests. There was a pile of wet dirty towels outside our room on a chair in the hall. Completely unsanitary. There is a drink station in the lobby for coffee etc. I picked up a wine glass that had old lipstick on it. One morning after housekeeping had already come, a hotel employee walked into our room while we were there without knocking.

It may have been the 4 previous days of camping and excessive rain but Acadia Hotel was amazing. We stayed here our last night on vacation as a treat before flying out and I regret nothing. The staff was very nice and accommodating. They even let us in an hour early with check-in once the room was cleaned. Acadia Hotel has a lot of amenities from coffee and lemonade in the foyer to bfast included which also included a hot omelet and you pick the toppings! They have 2 hot tubs outside and off street parking. We used their bikes to venture to part of the carriage road(make sure you inflate your wheels!). We also borrowed an umbrella to walk to dinner and they even have some really nice equipment to borrow for the day in Acadia ( Hydroflask backpack coolers, hiking poles and such). The room was clean and the King bed was comfy. Didn't use the porch area due to rain but was a nice touch as well. I would def recommend this place to future visitors of Bar Harbor and Acadia. Thanks for the stay!

Our family of four stayed 3 nights in the Sargent Mountain Suite. Plenty of space for us but the room had a musty smell so we left the windows open most of the time. The breakfast was good...omelets, fruit, oatmeal, bagels, muffins. Having 24 hour access to tea, coffee, and ice water in the lobby was nice too. The gym, although small, was perfect for a rainy afternoon. Plenty there if you know what your doing. Staff was pleasant. Great downtown location too. Kids wanted a pool and more breakfast choices but no regrets staying there.

Location location location! Exceptional hospitality! For example, our room (Cadillac Mountain Suite) was a little warm upon checking in and we let the front desk know. The Acadia Hotel made AC adjustments immediately and then the next day (on a Sunday morning) we saw the owner Peter hustling toward the Acadia Hotel and he met us outside with a smile and a fuse in his hand to permanently fix the AC. Housekeeping was flawless and we were so grateful for all of the spoiling. The Acadia lobby had games, refreshments, local books, maps, hiking gear, and cold brew coffee. Additionally, continental and made to order omelets were available from 7-10 in the morning. The linens were excellent quality. There are cozy areas around the property with gas heaters as well as quality bikes available for use. The Acadia hotel made us feel so welcomed and at home. We decided to checkout at 0100 to start our drive and miss NY traffic on the way to Florida. We pulled our vehicle under the covered area connecting the lobby and the Captain's house to load our luggage while it was raining and a friendly Acadia Hotel voice came out and asked if we would like to check out and wished us safe travels. Just another example of the hospitality of the Acadia Hotel.

Beautiful and cozy hotel with fabulous staff! We visited last spring and had reservations for one night, immediately we realized we wanted to stay longer since the room/hotel was so cozy and the town so cute. They happily accommodated us and we had a wonderful experience. Lots of helpful recommendations and complimentary tea/coffee which we took advantage of after a chilly wander around town. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and loved it. Great location in the center of town and a short drive to the park. Rooms were clean and cozy. They had staff recommendations for activities and restaurants hanging on the wall which was easy to view. Also, some pastries, fruit and cereal is in the lobby for breakfast.

We got the Cadillac mountain suite through air bnb and got a good weekend deal. The suite had 2 rooms - loving room with a twin and a main bedroom with a. Queen, fireplace, deck looking out at Cadillac mountain (partially obscured by the museum next door) and a bathroom with shower and jacuzzi. Here is what I loved: the location in bar harbor cannot be beat, cozy and clean accommodation. The queen bed was really comfortable. The twin bed not so much but the privacy and the space could not be beat. The amenities: strong wifi, good coffee and tea, orange ice water outside (though I think the oranges weren't changed over 3 days that we were there and the water tasted a bit stale to me - but that's just me), fire pit outside for chillier nights and plenty of parking. Didn't like: no extra toothbrush or paste for the demented like me who forgot this stuff. No hairdryer in the bathroom. Extra towels were not added to the room for the extra guests. The people in the room next door, talking on the phone at the top of their voices at 5am (I guess more signs to please respect others sleep) and the couple on the deck below us smoking and blowing their cancerous waste towards us. Smoking should be prohibited on the premises. Period. Overall, I'd give it 4 star and would come again but I think k the amenities were lacking a little for the price. Adding hairdryers, having some extra toiletries for the forgetful and a strict no smoking policy would be great.

What a beautiful way to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary!…read more The Bayview Hotel provided us with a room overlooking Frenchman Bay. We enjoyed sunrise views 3/4 mornings. (The 4th one was from Cadillac Summit.) Our room was spacious with one of the most comfortable comforters I've felt. We had a keurig machine, microwave, and mini fridge in our room. Appreciated the heater in the bathroom. Loved being greeted by the geese family on property in the morning and afternoon just outside our balcony. Our balcony had a couple of chairs with a table. We noticed the room beside us had a couch and bar stools in their balcony. While our balcony had cobwebs in every ceiling corner (lots of spiders on the railing), we were still able to enjoy the majestic sunrise views. They serve a continental breakfast every morning at 0700. Mid-day they serve charcuterie, cookies, fruits with refreshing infused water, tea&coffee. By far this was the most serene accommodation we've had. Calm and peaceful. They provide Adirondack chairs overlooking the bay. Friendly staff~ Brad at the front desk was kind in printing our Cadillac Sunrise pass for us & greeted us every time we passed the front desk. The hotel is less than 8 minutes from the Waterfront and about 10 min to Acadia National park depending on which entrance you use. All in all would return and recommend.

It was not like any other Hampton Inn that I've ever been in. It felt like a two star hotel. They don't even have a microwaves in the rooms. The breakfast was adequate. They had lots of options, but when paying over $500 for a room, I kind of expected a little more when it came to the quality. The staff at the front desk changed my room but it didn't make a difference. I did not sleep good not one of the three nights. The pool area was well kept and the grounds were beautiful. This location did not disappoint! I was able to check-in via the mobile app and select a room. The hotel space was very well-maintained. The room was also great with a large king bed a sofa-bed as we requested. The bathroom and water pressure were great. There were lots of outlets throughout the room as well as an iron, ironing board, alarm clock and refrigerator. The refrigerator was larger than most and had a separate freezer section. There was NO microwave in the room...which was a bit disappointing...especially when you are traveling with kids and frequently need to heat leftovers and other items. Instead, there are two microwaves available for guest use in the lobby. The TV was on the smaller side for a room of that size, but had a lot of channels. The free breakfast they offered was great...better than expected with a few hot options including omelets, sausages and home fries. They also have some other great options including yogurt, granola, fruit, cereal, waffle maker with lots of toppings and good variety of bagels, breads and pastries. There also had some cold juices and milk available for breakfast. There is coffee, tea and hot chocolate available for free all day in the lobby! The fitness center was bigger than expected. I used it twice and it was empty both times. Though we did not use the pools, all of them (indoor, outdoor and hot tub) all seemed well-maintained. Other guests seemed to be enjoying themselves while using them. There was a small "business" area with some work/counter surfaces, chairs and outlets. There was also a small play area with a table stocked with crayons and coloring pages, books, a small tent and a TV with cartoons on at all times! A great little area for the little ones to unwind for a few or just wait while the grown-ups check-in/out. There are a few shuttles available from the hotel that go into Acadia...but we drove and did not need that service. Although it isn't a bad idea...even for those with cars as parking at the popular areas during our early-afternoon ventures into Acadia were very challenging during our visit toward the end of August. Short drive to Acadia (5-10 minutes) entrances. Also, a shorter drive into downtown Bar Harbor (2-3 minutes) or a 10-15-minute walk if desired. Large and free parking lot. All staff we encountered were very nice, helpful and patient.

The room was well appointed and ready an hour before the check in time. There's a snack station on each floor equipped with cold water bottles, a nice selection of coffees and teas, fruit, and Kind bars. Robes are provided in the rooms, and the room service is from the nearby restaurant Paddy's. Prior to bedtime, we filled out the breakfast room service ordering menu and placed it outside. The first day was great. Room service arrived right on time the next morning. We ate and headed out for the day. I noticed later at night that they didn't leave another room service ordering menu. Figured no big deal, we'll just go down for breakfast the next day. This is when we ran into a few issues - we went down to the restaurant for breakfast at 930 and were told by a staff member at Paddy's that they were backed up with room service orders and she recommended we go across the street for breakfast, or there would be quite a wait. Okay that's fine - we had plans for the day so we ate across the street. A bit frustrating because breakfast was included in our nightly rate. When we got back in the afternoon around 3pm, I noticed the room wasn't cleaned. On the way out for dinner, I spoke with the front desk about housekeeping, and also asked them to make sure we get a room service breakfast order menu as we didn't the day before. When we came back from dinner - only one of the two beds was made. The bathroom floor was not vacuumed, and we didn't have our breakfast order menus. Again, I reached out to the front desk, who sent someone up with the menus. I mentioned the housekeeping issue to the guy who brought the menus up - he clarified that we would like to make sure both beds are made and the bathroom is cleaned .....yes. Felt odd to have to clarify that as this is usually understood. Later that evening we wanted to order room service for dessert - it was difficult to get someone on the phone. Ended up going to the restaurant to get the dessert to-go. The next morning our breakfast did not arrive. I called to follow up - Nicole at the front desk checked with the restaurant and made sure our food would be delivered. Our food arrived, though an hour late and missing one entree. Not Nicole's fault; she was excellent with following up with us. There seems to be some staffing issues as the one person at the front desk is always alone with seemingly a ton of things to be responsible for. What I liked…read moreabout the hotel was the parking was free, cottages were quiet, blueberry muffins were excellent. That was it. The cottage room was done so cheaply. Filthy area rug, oversized blinds, chairs with worn out cushions down to the springs, cheap towels, no luggage rack, bulk toiletries with no name (you don't know what you're using on your body), recycled mints that were handled many times, cheap worn out foam pillows. This is only a few of my complaints. Definitely not worth it to stay. Couldn't wait to leave this place. I shared my issues with the front desk when she asked how our stay was. It was nice she listened but apparently it didn't go anywhere.

Our check-in was rather late, 9pm, and we did not encounter an employee until we called the number on main lobby door. The employee can out of a laundry area and appeared to have just woke up. We had a suite on the first floor. Through our window you could see the lawn, and the random people that are sitting on the lawn. I felt uncomfortable with that fact that you can sit directly outside our front window. These were not other hotel guest, rather random people usually fresh off a cruise ship. The bathroom was large and stocked with new towels daily. The workers would come in daily and clean the room. The house keepers did a great job. Brian, the outside bar tender, was also awesome he and his two employees were by far the most helpful and friendly. When I rate hotel I rate it based on price for what you get. For the amount we spent I expected a golden experience. We had no valet, no bellhop, no drink pass for the outside bar, hell we don't ever get VIP seats on the lawn of the hotel. Pretty hotel with a cool look in a good location but not the grand experience you would expect for the money.
