We stayed at this B&B the week before Discoverer's Day Weekend. We were looking for an inn that would be centrally located, but away from the noise of the main streets of Bar Harbor. This was our first visit back to the town in almost twenty years, and it has been developed substantially over the years. A few longtime establishments still remain, but West Street and Main are overrun with shops that cater to cruise ships. Acacia House Inn is a great place to stay within walking distance of those establishments, a block away from the town's supermarket, gas stations, and well-known restaurants, but without the noise. The Inn is in a residential area near Cottage Street, but adjacent to several other Inns. The rooms have heating for the Fall and air conditioning for the summers. (The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been a fireplace in the room.) There is cable television and wifi. Parking in their lot is easy, as street parking is difficult and metered these days. They do a thorough room cleaning daily. Many reviews rave about the breakfasts and snacks. Anna is a wonderful cook and baker. Acacia House Inn provides hot apple cider, water for tea, drinking water from a dispenser, and freshly baked cookies each afternoon. However, their breakfasts are the best. They provide fresh fruit, juices, and coffee with a breakfast that is made to order from their 5 or 6 daily menu items. They also have a daily special, which might be specialty pancakes or Eggs Benedict. I would highly recommend the Acacia House Inn for your stay in Bar Harbor for its quality, price, and value.

If I could give Acacia House Inn ten stars, I would. We stayed here in May 2017 for five days and it was heaven. This bed and breakfast made this one of our most pleasant trips to date and is one of the main reasons I'd love to visit Bar Harbor again. After leaving, I was nostalgic for Acacia House and the food we were served for WEEKS. Never before have I had breakfasts this delicious. I am not exaggerating in the least. We stayed in the main Inn, and the room was very cozy and clean. I usually have a difficult time sleeping on hotel mattresses but I didn't have any problem with this one. The bathroom was very spacious and they provided shampoo and conditioner. The hotel itself is very quirky and cool, and I felt like we were able to get to know the owners as well as the other guests during our stay. Going downstairs and discovering the new breakfast feature was a highlight of the stay. We really love food, and these owners know how to make AMAZING food. Along with delectable fruit courses, we had (just to name a few breakfast items) blueberry pancakes, ployes (buckwheat pancakes), muffins, horseradish polenta with a poached egg, frittata with goat cheese, and strawberry cream cheese french toast. Not only do they have ridiculously wonderful breakfasts, but they served desserts and beverages in the afternoon. Rather than interrupting our days in the park, we paid for the owners of Acacia House to pack lunches for our hikes in Acadia. I'm a vegetarian, and they had several really delicious vegetarian-friendly options including this grilled veggie goat cheese sandwich that I have been trying to replicate ever since (in vain, unfortunately). Not only is this a great place to stay with unforgettable food, but the owners are just so kind and personable. They helped us decide on what activities to do during our one rainy day, and they gave us some awesome restaurant suggestions for dinner and lunch.

The Acacia house in Bar Harbor is a fabulous B&B. We only stayed here one night in July. We lucked out that they had one room open that night. It was completely booked for the rest of the month!! It is very convenient to 'downtown' with all the adorable shops, delicious restaurants, and sweet ice cream. All of them, just a short walk away. The owners, Ralph & Anna, were very pleasant too. Very polite, informative, and just the right amount of chit chat before the "OK, enjoy your stay!" and off they went. We stayed in the rooms above the garage in the back. There was plenty of parking, so we didn't have to carry our bags far. Our room was very clean and fresh. Nothing overly elaborate, but well supplied. The bed was so cozy and the down pillows made for sweet dreams. It was hard to roll out of it in the morning. The bathroom was spacious as well and I loved that they had EO products in them. The main house was very charming and full of useful Bar Harbor information in case you wanted a hiking guide or things of the like. The breakfast was very scrumptious. Tea & Coffee ready for you to make as soon as you walk in. A glass of juice and little cup of ripe fruits started things off. Then the awe-inspiring local food that was made just topped it all off. It was the best breakfast of our whole trip. If we ever come back, we'll certainly try to book again. I do suggest you get your reservations in early though. I think we just got very lucky!!

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was one of the best b&b places I have ever stayed in. The house is quaint, quiet, comfortable and nicely decorated with tons of tourist information and library of books. We stayed in room one and everything was A+++! I especially loved the huge bathroom with bathtub. The breakfast was grand and delicious and varied daily along with their afternoon refreshments which were freshly baked. Location was great and walkable to shops, restaurants and two grocery stores. Highly recommend this place for a great getaway!

Clean, quaint, and friendly, this place checked all the boxes for us. Walking distance to anything you'd want in town, and a perfect landing pad after a long day in the park. Super friendly staff all around, especially Veronica at reception. Everyone, both staff and guests, were very respectful of masks and social distancing which made us feel very comfortable during these strange times.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our time here. The location is perfect, just right outside of downtown walking distance to everything. Park your car, and leave it! We stayed in the carriage house. Our room was spotless. Very nice touches like hand made soap, and shampoo, conditioner and body gel by EO. Breakfast was AMAZING! Everything was cooked perfectly with local natural ingredients. The coffee was also great. Most of our interactions were with Ralph, and he was warm and very friendly. Gave us great advise on where to eat and some things to do. We look forward to staying with Ralph and Anna again.

Downstairs breakfast room and small parlor...so inviting and tastefully decorated.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Anna and Ralph are phenomenal hosts who've taken care of every single detail possible to make your stay comfortable and memorable. There are no cons, only PROS - -- Comfortable rooms, great updated showers and free parking in the backyard -- The breakfasts are to die for. They are truly out of this world. The baked goods are surreal - the scone and chocolate brownie we had were unforgettable. Anna is a gourmet chef. -- Packed lunches to go - yes, please take advantage, Sandwiches are made from the freshest of ingredients possible and are simply delicious. I don't think Anna does anything in half measures. -- You can have tea anytime of the day or night. Ample tea bags of all types readily available. As a tea drinker, I loved this touch. -- Downstairs parlor has books, guides and is a cozy seating area. Our room was a little small to lounge in and we hung out here after dinner. -- Free Wi-Fi. I could go on and on, but you will have to experience it for yourself. We can't wait to go back!!

Blueberry pancakes. Not pictured: coffee, OJ, chocolate croissant, coffee, yogurt.

They have a beautiful deck with plenty of seating, and Adirondack chairs in the yard to enjoy the stars. They keep the lights and music on all night, so no matter when you arrive home, you feel comfortable and safe. The only thing that we missed was access to ice. There is a tiny machine in the breakfast room, but that only makes enough ice for about 3 drinks for the whole place. We had to buy ice at the Circle K every day and keep it in our cooler in the room for our water bottles and cocktails. If you ever travel to Bar Harbor, this is the place to stay!!! Our room was quite small - barely fitting a queen size bed in the room, leaving minimal walking space. Our bathroom was also very small. It had a toilet, a small sink, and a very narrow shower. We didn't mind the size of the room because we spent most of our time hiking around Acadia. The staff at Maples Inn was very kind and shared some of their favorite hikes and their tips and tricks into finding the best experiences. The lobby also has a few snacks that are perfect grab and go for the trails. Their breakfast is also tasty, delicious and cooked on order! One thing to note is that they have 2 small, gravel parking spots on either side of the inn. They will also provide a parking permit for your car that will cover street parking during the dates of your stay at the inn. During peak season, I can only imagine how hard it must be to find parking nearby though.

While our balcony had cobwebs in every ceiling corner (lots of spiders on the railing), we were still able to enjoy the majestic sunrise views.
