Wow!!! My husband and I were camping in Acadia but our reservations got messed up the last night. We frantically searched for somewhere to stay and got lucky to get a room here. Our stay was awesome. We were greeted upon arrival and given a mini tour of the home. Our room had a bathroom attached. The bed was so comfortable, the AC & heating worked great, huge closet, and a high-pressured shower. They had the most delicious orange cake and M&M cookies available throughout the evening with tea at night. The next morning we had breakfast outside. They had scones for starters. My husband got the mushroom/vegetable omelette breakfast (which he enjoyed) and I got some of the best chocolate chip pancakes ever. I am so glad we got a room here! Next time we are in Acadia we will definitely be staying at Hearthside Inn.

Cute bed and breakfast located off a side street and close to the attraction of Bar Harbor. We didn't actually make it down in time for breakfast either if the two days we stayed since we were still on west coast time but we did get to try the muffins and they were great. This is a 3 story property and we were on the third story. We had the cute wanted room with the monkeys. The wall is slanted so the Roberson on the right side of the bed needs to watch their head when they get up. I should also mention that I am keen to a pillow top mattress and this bed was extra super duty firm. My back was not so happy. The bathroom was super cute. Shower was tiny!! We went during a holiday weekend so prices were way above what I thought they should be at $400/night. If you can stay here for like $200 a night that would be a better price point. Also if you e driven a vehicle, likeliness you'll get a spot is slim and you'll have to park down the street at a different hotel. You also won't be able to check in early anytime before 3pm so make note of that. But it was charming.

Perfect location - a quick walk to Main Street and all of the restaurants, pubs and shops in Bar Harbor; the Ocean Trail is only moments away; Acadia National Park is a short drive (or bus/trolley ride) away. The Inn is located on a quiet little street, just far enough away from the tourist traffic so that your stay will be peaceful. Your hosts, Brian and Catherine are absolutely perfect - warm and welcoming, fabulous to chat with, and add to that Brian's skills in the kitchen - you are in for a treat!! Eggs benedict, homemade waffles, blueberry bread pudding, freshly baked muffins, fruit smoothies - plan on skipping lunch after every three course gourmet breakfast!! When you do get hungry again, talk to your innkeepers - they have excellent recommendations for restaurants both in town and with more local flavour! We stayed for three nights in the Glass Menagerie room - a sunny, cozy room with a private balcony. Comfortable bed, with loads of soft pillows. I also MUST make mention - the room and bathroom (not en suite, but private) were immaculate!! The cleanest bathroom I have EVER experienced at a B&B....the entire inn would pass a white glove test with flying colours!! After the initial "wow" wears off at most inns, you begin to notice the dust on the baseboards, the cobwebs in the corners, the cracks in the ceilings, &c - NOT HERE!!!! Whatever they pay their housekeeper, they should double it, she is worth every penny, hehe!! Impressive!! A wonderful long weekend. Thank you again to Brian & Catherine for becoming part of our incredible Bar Harbor memories!!

Can I give this six stars? My boyfriend and I spent four nights here just this week and were over the moon about the level of hospitality and kindness we were shown while we stayed at The Hearthside Inn. Breakfast was prepared from scratch every morning and served to us by the inn keepers, Rick and Joyce. They asked us about our upcoming adventures every morning, made local recommendations, and asked us how it all went when we came home for the night. They hugged us goodbye when we left! I could tear up thinking about it. Coming from an East Coast city, where this kind of thing is virtually non-existent, I just can't say enough how thankful I was for the kindness and comfort given to us during our short stay. On top of that, breakfast was delicious and the accommodations were absolutely beautiful. You truly feel at home here.

We had the best time at Hearthside!!! We went for our 1st wedding anniversary and this B&B exceeded our expectations. Brian and the rest of the staff are incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful ...and AMAZING cooks! Their fresh, warm muffins, pastries, and cookies were top notch and they went above and beyond with breakfast! The rooms were clean and the whole place felt "COVID safe" with masks and hand sanitizer all around and they've minimized commonly touched items which made us feel much more comfortable. Such a sweet place to stay and the best location right downtown, we walked to everything! Very highly recommend staying at this B&B and we can't wait to come back. It really made our trip feel special :)

My friend and I stayed at this wonderful and heartwarming B&B in Bar Harbor for three nights. We went to Bar Harbor to see Acadia National Park. Brian and Catherine made our stay in town a wonderful experience. They gave us recommendations and guides where to go around the area. Location-wise, it is within close proximity, walking distance to be exact, to a lot of restaurants, souvenir shops, and the bay. Brian and Catherine accommodated our request to change room on the second and third night since our room the first night was booked for those days. Our rooms were clean and comfortable to stay at. Breakfasts were amazing. Thank you Brian and Catherine! We will be back for sure.

We stayed on the 3rd floor in the Beehive Suite. It was a bit of a trek going up and down as many times as we did, especially with heavy luggage, but we loved the room and the view!!!! And we never heard a single other guest during our stay. They have a great HVAC system that keeps the third floor very cool. And the bed and pillows were very comfortable. There is a parking space for a car for every room. When we arrived, we got a thorough welcoming from Matt. He showed us on a map some suggestions of where to eat. The inn is an easy walk from the town and about a five minute drive from the entrance to Acadia National Park. We didn't partake in breakfast, but saw many others enjoying it. They have a beautiful deck with plenty of seating, and Adirondack chairs in the yard to enjoy the stars. They keep the lights and music on all night, so no matter when you arrive home, you feel comfortable and safe. The only thing that we missed was access to ice. There is a tiny machine in the breakfast room, but that only makes enough ice for about 3 drinks for the whole place. We had to buy ice at the Circle K every day and keep it in our cooler in the room for our water bottles and cocktails. If you ever travel to Bar Harbor, this is the place to stay!!! Best view ever!!!

As parents of…read moretwo young children, it was amazing to have it feel relaxing and fun for everyone--but The Bayview somehow managed to do exactly that. It wasn't just a vacation; it felt like we were genuinely cared for from the moment we arrived until the day we left. The attention to detail throughout the property is exceptional. Every member of the staff was warm, welcoming, and eager to make our stay special. We were constantly amazed by the thoughtful touches--from the personalized treats waiting for our kids, to the beautifully folded laundry returned in a charming basket (what a luxury for a mom on vacation!), to the nightly turndown service that made us feel completely pampered. Breakfast each morning was outstanding and we all loved the afternoon teatime! Chef Tricia and her team created delicious, beautifully prepared food. it was lovely to be able to pop in for breakfast or afternoon tea and treats each day. Our children loved the nightly s'mores around the fire pit, the playground, and wandering the shoreline trail to climb on the rocks by the water. Those simple moments became some of our favorite family memories. The complimentary shuttle into downtown Bar Harbor made everything incredibly convenient, and the hotel's location--just minutes from Acadia National Park--couldn't have been better. My daughter and I enjoyed taking the shuttle to the sister property for morning yoga. We enjoyed all the beauty and adventure of the area while always looking forward to returning "home" to The Bayview each evening. A very special thank you to Vinet at the front desk, the manager, Chef Tricia, and every member of the team. You each made us feel truly special. The level of hospitality you provide has really set the bar. Our week flew by. We left feeling refreshed, spoiled, and already talking about when we can come back. Thank you, The Bayview, for giving our family what was truly our best family vacation yet. We can't recommend this hotel highly enough!

This is their number one asset, and they treat it that way. The room highlights the view perfectly, and the grounds are impeccable. - The room was nice, clean, and everything in it just right. The room cleaning staff was excellent. - The extra touches were a delight: chocolate strawberries for our 34th anniversary with a note, the water bottles, turn-down service with little gifts. Little touches like that around every corner. - The breakfast (and food in general) exceeded our expectation. Whoever they have in the kitchen is doing a bang-up job. - The front desk staff was gracious, helpful, and prompt. The concierge helped us with reservations and itinerary. Top notch. - The shuttle was great. It made the hotel's distance from downtown a non-issue. - We had a minor issue with an overly-enthusiastic dog (remember this is a pet-friendly hotel btw), but the staff and management handled it quickly and professionally, again making it a non-issue.

The inn is a cute, quaint little house that feels very warm and homey. Our room had a bed with a giant wooden bedframe and the amenities were clean and simple. We got a pair of super comfortable robes too! Now, let's talk food. Every day, you go downstairs into a cute little parlor/tea room. The owner helped me get my suitcase up but still stairs and I don't get along well. I would have forgiven this but our room was a joke. 1. The decor was... eclectic. Meaning nothing matched. The wallpaper was peeling. The carpet was wrinkling and coming up in the corners. 2. No closet, no safe, no coffee maker (they served coffee in a sitting room... down the stairs) 3. The bed was designed by Torquemada. After one sleepless night my wife and I were ready to confess to heresy or treason. It was the most uncomfortable bed I've encountered in decades. The pillows smelled like they hadn't been washed. The bed wasn't level. The mattress was lumpy. We did not sleep ... maybe two hours. 4. The bathroom had a shower. Because of my handicap need to have my wife help me into bathtubs so I elected not to shower. 5. You would think that for $380 they could afford something better than Motel 6 soaps. Very cheap. So after one sleepless night we checked out. The owner said because we booked through Expedia we needed to deal with them. Expedia told us after a day that the owner would not waive their no refund fee so I'm out $380 for that second night. You're better off camping in a tent. Never again.
