Truly an amazing stay for our 1st wedding anniversary! We stayed on the top floor in Hulls Cove, the room was comfortable and so cute with a great balcony to relax on after a long hike! We had amazing information from Cheryl on hikes and in town recommendation's for some great food. Even better though? Cheryl put on an amazing breakfast which really helped start a day filled with hiking in Acadia. Coming back to the most comfortable bed, delicious tea and cookies between 3pm-5pm makes an extremely welcoming atmosphere. Proximity to town is also a plus, getting into the center of things takes about a 10minute walk. I would highly recommend staying at The Elmhurst Inn for a cozy and comfortable stay.

What an excellent find for lodging while in Bar Harbor. The house is quaint and tastefully decorated. check in was easy and the owner was always around and very welcoming and helpful with recommendations and local infromation. Our room was on the second floor, no elevator so be prepared to carry luggage up stairs. Bedding was excellent. Comphy Sheets that I have looked into buying since I have been home. Our room had king size bed with, two overstuffed chairs, a fire place and private bath with shower. Plenty of parking and located within walking distance of downtown Bar Harbor. Breakfast is included in the price of the room and was so nice. You had a choice of entree each morning (either egg and meat dish or sweet, pancake/waffles). Breakfast also came with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and specialty items each morning (croissants, smoothies, speciality breads, fresh fruit). Excellent start to the day. The girls who served us were extremely friendly, polite and efficient. Great experience.

    Amazing breakfast daily!

This inn is wonderful! My sister and I stayed in the Beehive Room. We thought the room was larger than it looks in pictures - she and I had enough space for our things and to maneuver around each other. Cheryl and the staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. The inn has some quirks you'd expect from an old building - creaky stairs and such - but it all adds to the charm. Breakfast is excellent and Cheryl has helpful resources (like hiking maps) and recommendations for guests. This inn would be our first choice for a return trip! Can't recommend it enough.

Cheryl was very welcoming! The inn was very clean and mask rules were respected (and hand sanitizer was provided! We stayed in the beehive room and it has a gorgeous sunlight over the bed which was romantic and charming. Close walk to everything close by (8 min to the waterfront) and only 10min to see the sunrise at Acadia. Highly recommend.

I'm going to be the first Yelper to talk about the Elmhurst Inn. So many awesome things to say! 1. The Manager is super helpful. Went out of her way for us multiple times to help us have what we needed, etc. I have celiac so have to be strict about gluten and cross- contamination and she was knowledgeable and took the time to check ingredients for me. I appreciated this so much and it made me feel very comfortable! 2. After experiencing this B&B, I honestly don't know why I'd stay in a hotel again - lol - the B&B feel is so warm and inviting. 3. Our room was super cute and spacious (we stayed in the Cadillac Suite). 4. The breakfasts!!! There's this cute breakfast patio that overlooks the gardens - little tables for 2 with white wicker furniture, fresh flowers, cute little salt and pepper shakers - I just loved all the thought and detail that went into making it the cute and inviting place that it is! 5. The breakfasts were DELICIOUS! We were so spoiled! Yummy quiches, waffles, pancakes, omelettes, and more. Always with a first course of fruit, yogurt and breakfast pastry. I'd highly recommend the Elmhurst Inn. Quiet, quaint, and beautiful, just like Maine!

We stayed on the 3rd floor in the Beehive Suite. It was a bit of a trek going up and down as many times as we did, especially with heavy luggage, but we loved the room and the view!!!! And we never heard a single other guest during our stay. They have a great HVAC system that keeps the third floor very cool. And the bed and pillows were very comfortable. There is a parking space for a car for every room. When we arrived, we got a thorough welcoming from Matt. He showed us on a map some suggestions of where to eat. The inn is an easy walk from the town and about a five minute drive from the entrance to Acadia National Park. We didn't partake in breakfast, but saw many others enjoying it. They have a beautiful deck with plenty of seating, and Adirondack chairs in the yard to enjoy the stars. They keep the lights and music on all night, so no matter when you arrive home, you feel comfortable and safe. The only thing that we missed was access to ice. There is a tiny machine in the breakfast room, but that only makes enough ice for about 3 drinks for the whole place. We had to buy ice at the Circle K every day and keep it in our cooler in the room for our water bottles and cocktails. If you ever travel to Bar Harbor, this is the place to stay!!! Best view ever!!!

As parents of…read moretwo young children, it was amazing to have it feel relaxing and fun for everyone--but The Bayview somehow managed to do exactly that. It wasn't just a vacation; it felt like we were genuinely cared for from the moment we arrived until the day we left. The attention to detail throughout the property is exceptional. Every member of the staff was warm, welcoming, and eager to make our stay special. We were constantly amazed by the thoughtful touches--from the personalized treats waiting for our kids, to the beautifully folded laundry returned in a charming basket (what a luxury for a mom on vacation!), to the nightly turndown service that made us feel completely pampered. Breakfast each morning was outstanding and we all loved the afternoon teatime! Chef Tricia and her team created delicious, beautifully prepared food. it was lovely to be able to pop in for breakfast or afternoon tea and treats each day. Our children loved the nightly s'mores around the fire pit, the playground, and wandering the shoreline trail to climb on the rocks by the water. Those simple moments became some of our favorite family memories. The complimentary shuttle into downtown Bar Harbor made everything incredibly convenient, and the hotel's location--just minutes from Acadia National Park--couldn't have been better. My daughter and I enjoyed taking the shuttle to the sister property for morning yoga. We enjoyed all the beauty and adventure of the area while always looking forward to returning "home" to The Bayview each evening. A very special thank you to Vinet at the front desk, the manager, Chef Tricia, and every member of the team. You each made us feel truly special. The level of hospitality you provide has really set the bar. Our week flew by. We left feeling refreshed, spoiled, and already talking about when we can come back. Thank you, The Bayview, for giving our family what was truly our best family vacation yet. We can't recommend this hotel highly enough!

This is their number one asset, and they treat it that way. The room highlights the view perfectly, and the grounds are impeccable. - The room was nice, clean, and everything in it just right. The room cleaning staff was excellent. - The extra touches were a delight: chocolate strawberries for our 34th anniversary with a note, the water bottles, turn-down service with little gifts. Little touches like that around every corner. - The breakfast (and food in general) exceeded our expectation. Whoever they have in the kitchen is doing a bang-up job. - The front desk staff was gracious, helpful, and prompt. The concierge helped us with reservations and itinerary. Top notch. - The shuttle was great. It made the hotel's distance from downtown a non-issue. - We had a minor issue with an overly-enthusiastic dog (remember this is a pet-friendly hotel btw), but the staff and management handled it quickly and professionally, again making it a non-issue.

Checking in was easy, we called the number at the front desk and someone came to help us. We even got a late night snack (chocolate mousse) to bring up to our room. The inn is a cute, quaint little house that feels very warm and homey. Our room had a bed with a giant wooden bedframe and the amenities were clean and simple. We got a pair of super comfortable robes too! Now, let's talk food. Every day, you go downstairs into a cute little parlor/tea room. There's always a sweet option and a savory option, and everything is made fresh in house. I mean it when I say these were some of the best breakfasts I've had in my life! Pancakes, waffles, French toast, breakfast quiches... always with a healthy side of fresh fruit and some carb or meat. I seriously looked forward to waking up every day just so I could find out what the breakfast options were. My husband likes sweet and I like savory so we always each ordered one and shared. Again, seriously the best breakfasts I've had in my life!! As if that wasn't enough, they provide daily afternoon "tea time" snacks too! The baked goods were heavenly! The owner helped me get my suitcase up but still stairs and I don't get along well. I would have forgiven this but our room was a joke. 1. The decor was... eclectic. Meaning nothing matched. The wallpaper was peeling. The carpet was wrinkling and coming up in the corners. 2. No closet, no safe, no coffee maker (they served coffee in a sitting room... down the stairs) 3. The bed was designed by Torquemada. After one sleepless night my wife and I were ready to confess to heresy or treason. It was the most uncomfortable bed I've encountered in decades. The pillows smelled like they hadn't been washed. The bed wasn't level. The mattress was lumpy. We did not sleep ... maybe two hours. 4. The bathroom had a shower. Because of my handicap need to have my wife help me into bathtubs so I elected not to shower. 5. You would think that for $380 they could afford something better than Motel 6 soaps. Very cheap. So after one sleepless night we checked out. The owner said because we booked through Expedia we needed to deal with them. Expedia told us after a day that the owner would not waive their no refund fee so I'm out $380 for that second night. You're better off camping in a tent. Never again.
