What a beautiful way to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary!…read more The Bayview Hotel provided us with a room overlooking Frenchman Bay. We enjoyed sunrise views 3/4 mornings. (The 4th one was from Cadillac Summit.) Our room was spacious with one of the most comfortable comforters I've felt. We had a keurig machine, microwave, and mini fridge in our room. Appreciated the heater in the bathroom. Loved being greeted by the geese family on property in the morning and afternoon just outside our balcony. Our balcony had a couple of chairs with a table. We noticed the room beside us had a couch and bar stools in their balcony. While our balcony had cobwebs in every ceiling corner (lots of spiders on the railing), we were still able to enjoy the majestic sunrise views. They serve a continental breakfast every morning at 0700. Mid-day they serve charcuterie, cookies, fruits with refreshing infused water, tea&coffee. By far this was the most serene accommodation we've had. Calm and peaceful. They provide Adirondack chairs overlooking the bay. Friendly staff~ Brad at the front desk was kind in printing our Cadillac Sunrise pass for us & greeted us every time we passed the front desk. The hotel is less than 8 minutes from the Waterfront and about 10 min to Acadia National park depending on which entrance you use. All in all would return and recommend.

The room was beautiful and spacious. The bed was also very comfortable. We stayed in one of the peak king rooms with a beautiful view of the ocean. Highly recommend booking one of these rooms. We were not able to get tickets to see the sunrise, but we were able to see one from our balcony. We also enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee out there one quiet morning. The breakfast was very good with many options to have before heading out for the day. All of the egg dishes were outstanding. They also have a shuttle service that you can take if you want to go out for dinner in town. This was our first time to Bar Harbor and Bayview but it won't be our last.

Beautiful room, with view, jacuzzi off of our room & location was great!…read more I gave it 4 stars because the staff was ok, the room service was awful and delivered our food in plastic containers. The food was cold and late. They refunded our breakfast but the plastic and cold food left a bad taste. We also tried to make a couples massage and they only had 2 male masseuse and one female masseuse. Not practical for such a large hotel. The grounds were beautiful and can host large parties and everything is within walking distance. Not sure I would stay here again because it was an ok stay.

Here's what was not good: 1) The walls were so thin I could easily hear conversations in the next room and in the hallway. Not to mention the barking dog and slamming of doors that could not be closed gently. 2) They should not have charged a $35 resort fee when there were no real amenities offered. For example, the 2 weight rooms in the hotel and at the spa club house had basic equipment but the weights were insufficient for my husband. The only other amenities offered without an additional fee were tennis and the swimming pools but they were still closed because we were there in April, still the off-season. 3) The La Bella Vita restaurant food was mediocre and definitely not worth the inflated prices charged. Not to mention, our waiter didn't even know what a Chianti red wine was even though he was working at an Italian restaurant. 4) The outdated wall room heater and air conditioner was way too loud and we couldn't hear the TV without turning it up (I'm sure our neighbors could hear). But at least it helped drown out the neighbors and the barking dog. And can't imagine what they charge for rooms during peak tourist season but I definitely won't be back to find out.

I had a minor meltdown upon check-in bc it appeared they had given our room to someone else and we called to complain to the manager, Josh, who upgraded us and was SO nice. Our new room was beautiful in the main building with a gorgeous view of the water. They had a welcome card for me and chocolates and a small gift for my birthday. We were impressed with everything here. Staff were friendly. Rooms are beautiful and well-appointed and comfortable and upgraded. Room cleaning was prompt and efficient (they were in and out within an hour of our walking out every day). Their lobby has games to play, newspapers, and 24/7 access to hot chocolate, fresh coffee, and fresh water and sparkling water on tap as well as a nice business center/printer computer. The women's restroom even had personal items out if you needed them. The rooms are unique and the architecture is different. Very charming hotel in a very charming town. The included continental breakfast was one of the nicest I've had included in a room charge in a long time. Large selection of fresh pastries, hot items, cold items, coffee, juice and tea as well as fruits always being replenished with care and attention. We enjoyed everything about this hotel. Thank you to Josh, Ashley and even Tyler who gave us a history lesson about the inn and the town. We will be back.

The whole property was cozy, quiet and relaxing. Our room was spacious with a lovely balcony overlooking the water. Service: Welcoming and kind door people upon arrival, and the front desk staff was very helpful and provided all the most useful information. The bartender at the Oasis lounge was the perfect level of chatty but let us also have our own conversation. Every staff member we encountered seemed dedicated to hospitality. Location: Could not be better. Walking distance to everything in town but right on the water and perfect access to the shore path. Ample parking. Other notes. The continental breakfast was phenomenal. No hot items but they had delicious ham and cheese croissants, spinach and cheese pastries, yogurt dishes and heaps of fresh berries to keep you fueled up for a great day. Tasty coffee and everything was well stocked. This place cannot be beat. Folks usually only leave reviews for hotels when they have something to complain about but I do not have one such thing. Thank you!

They were definitely not the quality that I usually get at a Hampton Inn. For some reason, the mattresses were marked with the word "summer" in black. I have no clue why. Possibly they put the bad mattresses out for high season. The other furniture in the room was outdated and the fabric was stiff and scratchy. It was not like any other Hampton Inn that I've ever been in. It felt like a two star hotel. They don't even have a microwaves in the rooms. The breakfast was adequate. They had lots of options, but when paying over $500 for a room, I kind of expected a little more when it came to the quality. The staff at the front desk changed my room but it didn't make a difference. I did not sleep good not one of the three nights. The pool area was well kept and the grounds were beautiful. I enjoyed sitting at the bench on the hill taking pictures. Only stay here for the view.

A wonderful stay here at the Bar Harbor Hampton Inn…read more Though this hotel was more expensive ($500/night vs. $280/night) compared to the other (smaller but highly-rated) motels, we decided to splurge to stay here as we are familiar and have always been happy with our Hampton Inn stays. This location did not disappoint! I was able to check-in via the mobile app and select a room. The hotel space was very well-maintained. The room was also great with a large king bed a sofa-bed as we requested. The bathroom and water pressure were great. There were lots of outlets throughout the room as well as an iron, ironing board, alarm clock and refrigerator. The refrigerator was larger than most and had a separate freezer section. There was NO microwave in the room...which was a bit disappointing...especially when you are traveling with kids and frequently need to heat leftovers and other items. Instead, there are two microwaves available for guest use in the lobby. The TV was on the smaller side for a room of that size, but had a lot of channels. The free breakfast they offered was great...better than expected with a few hot options including omelets, sausages and home fries. They also have some other great options including yogurt, granola, fruit, cereal, waffle maker with lots of toppings and good variety of bagels, breads and pastries. There also had some cold juices and milk available for breakfast. There is coffee, tea and hot chocolate available for free all day in the lobby! The fitness center was bigger than expected. I used it twice and it was empty both times. Though we did not use the pools, all of them (indoor, outdoor and hot tub) all seemed well-maintained. Other guests seemed to be enjoying themselves while using them. There was a small "business" area with some work/counter surfaces, chairs and outlets. There was also a small play area with a table stocked with crayons and coloring pages, books, a small tent and a TV with cartoons on at all times! A great little area for the little ones to unwind for a few or just wait while the grown-ups check-in/out. There are a few shuttles available from the hotel that go into Acadia...but we drove and did not need that service. Although it isn't a bad idea...even for those with cars as parking at the popular areas during our early-afternoon ventures into Acadia were very challenging during our visit toward the end of August. Short drive to Acadia (5-10 minutes) entrances. Also, a shorter drive into downtown Bar Harbor (2-3 minutes) or a 10-15-minute walk if desired. Large and free parking lot. All staff we encountered were very nice, helpful and patient.

There's so much character and thought placed into designing every nook and cranny of this Inn. The front desk lady was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was quite small - barely fitting a queen size bed in the room, leaving minimal walking space. Our bathroom was also very small. It had a toilet, a small sink, and a very narrow shower. We didn't mind the size of the room because we spent most of our time hiking around Acadia. The staff at Maples Inn was very kind and shared some of their favorite hikes and their tips and tricks into finding the best experiences. The lobby also has a few snacks that are perfect grab and go for the trails. Their breakfast is also tasty, delicious and cooked on order! One thing to note is that they have 2 small, gravel parking spots on either side of the inn. They will also provide a parking permit for your car that will cover street parking during the dates of your stay at the inn. During peak season, I can only imagine how hard it must be to find parking nearby though.

We stayed on the 3rd floor in the Beehive Suite. It was a bit of a trek going up and down as many times as we did, especially with heavy luggage, but we loved the room and the view!!!! And we never heard a single other guest during our stay. They have a great HVAC system that keeps the third floor very cool. And the bed and pillows were very comfortable. There is a parking space for a car for every room. When we arrived, we got a thorough welcoming from Matt. He showed us on a map some suggestions of where to eat. The inn is an easy walk from the town and about a five minute drive from the entrance to Acadia National Park. We didn't partake in breakfast, but saw many others enjoying it. They have a beautiful deck with plenty of seating, and Adirondack chairs in the yard to enjoy the stars. They keep the lights and music on all night, so no matter when you arrive home, you feel comfortable and safe. The only thing that we missed was access to ice. There is a tiny machine in the breakfast room, but that only makes enough ice for about 3 drinks for the whole place. We had to buy ice at the Circle K every day and keep it in our cooler in the room for our water bottles and cocktails. If you ever travel to Bar Harbor, this is the place to stay!!!
