Wow, what a surprise. I would have never come here if it wasn't for Seattle restaurant week. For $35, you get A LOT of food. Especially if you order the burger. The burger is described as a James Beard competition blended shiitake mushroom burger blew my mind. It was impressively good and the time to jam was very unique. A must try on the menu. And the shoe string fries compliment the burger so well. The braised short rib is cooked perfectly and hits the spot. If you had parents who were blessed with the skill to make a homemade dish similar to this, it's going to give you all those feelings but with a restaurant presentation. The appetizers were good but nothing to make any special comments for. The dessert finishes the meal well and you can't go wrong with the flan or a little risqué with the red miso affogato. I love matcha and the flan is still able to bring out that taste while providing that familiar toasted caramel taste. I loved the Asian take on the affogato with the sesame brittle. I was pretty full from my meal by this time but still managed to clean my dessert off. The coffee was needed so I didn't get food coma for my drive home haha. Don't overlook this place! I will note their service is a bit slow and we even had to ask for utensils after the food came out. Not sure if there's a shortage in staff but the help wanted sign outside might be a hint. Otherwise, we enjoyed our time here but want to recommend that the food does come out at a slower pace and prepare for a 2 hour dinner minimum. This is my son's favorite restaurant, discovered a few years ago so we ate here on his recent birthday. Our party of 5 had the Kurabota Pork Curry, Kalbi Short Ribs, Salmon Poke Tower, Ahi Poke Nachos,Ahi Poke Tacos and Black Cod. We sort of shared bites. So many good flavors, sauces, the Fresh Menu looked so enticing, I know we have to go back again and again. My dish was the Kalbi Ribs and I have to say thank you for serving this dish, the shihito peppers were perfect and that gochuchang sauce was better than anything I have had in a Korean restaurant or any other restaurant! It's located at Edmonds' Five Corners (west of Edmonds Woodway HS) and as you spin through the round about, it is understandable why you'd miss it completely on the south side of the automobile turnstile. Ordered the Kalbi bowl and the pork dumplings appetizer. The dumplings were perfectly cooked and the sauce that came with it were amazing. Definitely a great appetizer to start with. The Kalbi bowl was good as well however I wouldn't say it was amazing. The kalbi was tender but there wasn't that much actual meat on them compared to other restaurants have serve Kalbi. The egg was perfectly done and the sauce definitely gave the plate a lot more flavor. Overall, Bar Dojo was pretty good but I don't think it's something we'll ever be craving to go back too. read more

So we (boyfriend and I) came here after my cousin's wedding reception for dinner. Ok, so not immediately after but for dinner as the reception was early afternoon. It was later in the evening (about an hour or so before close) and we were quite tired. It took a minute to be seated (tables needed to be cleared) but once we were down we were taken care of pretty quickly. We ordered drinks and were given complimentary edamame (yummy always a favorite)! And since we caught the tail end of happy hour ordered the Korean Chicken Wings to start. Honestly, my favorite part of the meal - the were crispy and deliciously saucy and spicy. I ordered the crab and poke bowl and he had the curry - while yummy both of us were more impressed with the wings. The soft shell crab was delicious and the tuna was yummy but the rest I could have taken or left. The curry was definitely more soupy then expected and the lemongrass flavor was stronger than we expected, but still good. Definitely a good meal, with highs and...not lows, but you know what I mean. The restaurant fit me in on. Thursday night at the bar. The servers were all very friendly, nice, and attentive. I ordered their signature Crab and Poke bowl. The crab was a good sized piece and deep fried very crunchy. The avocado rice on the bottom was to die for! So unique and delicious. The tuna poke was pre-seasoned and was light and tasty. The dish was good overall but it lacked a light poke or tempura sauce. It did come with a tamarind sauce but it was too salty to pour over the salad or dip the crab in. Wow. This place deserves a "holy Batman!" because it blew me out of the water. I have had it bookmarked for awhile but finally had a chance to order today. Usually I wait awhile to leave a review so I can ruminate on the experience UNLESS there is no need to ruminate and it's a "best ever" kind of spot. This place is a truly unique and deserves recognition. Their menu is inspiring and you can smell the aroma of what they are cooking just sitting in their parking lot. Today I ordered the avocado salad, mushroom and tofu bowl, ahi poke nachos, and okonomiyaki fried rice with crab. I almost didn't wait to bring everything home before digging in. The scents wafting up from the takeout boxes were so tempting!! Alas, I was patient and photographed everything second before diving in. What to report?!...EVERYTHING WAS ON POINT! The mushroom and tofu bowl was unique in flavor with plenty of umami and good texture mixing. The ahi poke nachos were flavorful and came in a very generous helping size. This appetizer could easily feed 3-4 adults. The okonomiyaki with crab was probably my favorite dish. Full of flavor and a beautiful blend of bonito flakes, sauce, and crab I could probably eat this on the daily. The hype is real. I understand why it's impossible to get a table here on the weekends without a reservation. Bar Dojo looks very unassuming, crouched at the edge of a strip mall next to a quick mart, but it contains multitudes inside. The ambiance is modern and even a touch hip; the service is professional and warm. But of course the most important thing is that the food is DELICIOUS. We ordered a ton of dishes, but the absolute standout was the bulgogi fries with juicy, tender, and flavorful meat. The rockfish was also scrumptious, a symphony of salty and sweet, crunchy and moist. We went with our toddler, and even though we stuck out like a sore thumb in such a hip establishment, the staff were nothing but welcoming and accommodating. Oh my goddddddd this place is toooo good it's obscene. I went for the first time last week and have already had to go back. It was just as good the second time. The staff is super nice, its got a nice chill ambience. It was a bit cold, to be honest. But overall very intimate and hasn't been super packed when I've gone. As far as the food goes, honestly words don't do it justice. We brought some friends to try it. We were chatting and catching up but once the food hit the table the only thing that was said was "this is so good" on repeat, from everybody. The flavors are just so balanced and interesting. I haven't had a single bad thing. The fried cauliflower was amazing. The red curry nachos were probably my favorite, the pork belly nachos were really good. The gyoza and dimpling were also quite good. The bulgogi is nice and spicy, I love it on the sliders although it wasn't as good on the fries in my opinion. The truffle fries are yummy. I didn't try the ramen but my friend seemed to really enjoy it. We also have a vegetarian friend who got the avocado rice and said it was amazing and surprisingly filling. She said she was going to try to start making something like it herself at home. The almond cake wasn't my favorite. But I LOOOVVEEEDD the churro guava cheesecake, and I'm not a coffee drinker but everyone was raving about the affogato. Get the ahi tacos. Yum. A little spicy and a lot delicious. Drinks are delicious and creative too. Price is slightly expensive for the vibe inside but the food delivers. Service has been friendly and good both times. Parking is terrible and the lot is always full every time I've been but you can usually find something eventually just plan ahead. I love finding little hidden gems everywhere. We usually don't come to this area since we live in Kirkland, but we were meeting someone in the strip center here. Since it was dinner time, we decided to try Bar Dojo. Due to COVID, we are always wary about eating out but they had partitioned an outdoor patio seating. So basically we had our own private dining area which was pretty cool. For our appetizers we had oysters on the half shell and the pork gyoza. They were really good and the oysters were really nice and fresh. The Pork Gyoza was cooked perfectly and the sauce was really good. For dinner we ordered the Birria Ramen, Pork Belly Nachos, and Braised Short Rib. The Birria Ramen was good and flavorful. My husband really enjoyed the flavors. My son had the Pork Belly Nachos. They were really good nachos and had nice chunks of pork belly in it. They were really good! The best dish of the night though had to be the Braised Short Rib. It was so soft and succulent. The sauce was just perfect and it was served on a bed of Risotto which was cooked perfectly. We live in Kirkland, but this was a meal that we may just have to make the trek out there to have again. We drove for 45 minutes in horrible traffic to come here for dinner and I'd do it again in a heart beat! This place was amazing! The food was soooo delicious, and our waiter (wish I remembered his name) was fantastic! It's a little nicer on the inside than I realized which was nice! It's great for a date night! I visited for the first time for SRW and I left so satisfied and an absolute fan of Bar Dojo! The special was $50/person for a 3 course meal. We tried the fried tofu and hamachi appetizers; the short rib fried rice and octopus entrees; and the almond cake and lychee creme brulee for dessert. The portions were very generous that we ended up taking home almost the entire short rib meal, because we knew we wouldn't be able to have any dessert if we ended up eating all of that. Honestly, I would probably just come back for the creme brulee. On a busy Sunday evening, there were only two servers covering at least 15 tables. They were extremely efficient and clearly working very hard. The amazing service and delicious food definitely warrants 5 stars. read more

Being diagnosed with celiac, I'm extremely picky about eating out. We were in town for a soccer tournament and I was craving some Yakisoba. Asian cuisine is my go-to for GF options most of the time. So I searched around our hotel and found this spot. Man, it was BOMB!! I have found GF Bulgogi in my home town so it's been quite awhile since I had it. The tacos were absolutely on point! Juicy, spicy, full of flavor. The Bulgogi rice bowl was super good. I wish I had ordered a second one to go for lunch the next day. The Yakisoba was very good as well. If I was going to nitpick anything, it would be that the Yakisoba needed some more sauce. But it was a very minor miss. We sat at the bar, our bartender was great! I came here twice for dinner during a recent trip. My first visit, I was pretty hungry and ordered the pork belly tacos and the Thai chicken lettuce wrap. One order would have been enough. They are three large tacos. The pork belly was a little dry but the Thai chicken lettuce wrap was great. Full of flavor! On my second visit I ordered the Thai chicken again and an order of the pork dumplings. The dumplings are steamed. They are good but very spicy. I would order that again but maybe with the sauce on the side for dipping the dumpling. read more

I always enjoy coming here. They had HH on a Sunday night so we ordered a bunch of drinks and food on the HH and regular menu. We loved the calamari, pork sliders, and pork belly nachos. The wings were too spicy for some and the brussel sprouts were not very flavorful in the sweet chili sauce. I prefer them blasted with garlic.
