Pretty decent vibes for a hotel restaurant... but honestly I was pleasantly surprised. I stumbled in starving and exhausted after traveling, saw it had solid Yelp ratings, and figured I'd roll the dice. Glad I did. The staff was great... my waitress was super attentive and had GREAT hair. Like, distractingly great. I ordered a steak with broccolini and risotto and everything slapped. The broccolini was cooked perfectly with just a little crunch, the risotto was buttery and delicious, and the steak was cooked exactly right. Honestly, I would've paid more than the $45 for it and not complained. They did a really solid job here. If you're in the area... especially if you're staying at the Westin... this is an easy yes. read more

Terrible service. The waitress was completely oblivious. Took my order and I sat there for 50 minutes waiting. No food. Walked to the bar and asked and they said 'oh it's ready. Let me get it'. She was nice and responsive, unlike the waitress. The dish - some chicken with cream sauce dish, was disgusting. Grilled chicken thrown on pasta that was drenched in cream - no flavor, cold, and congealed. Fabio needs to pay more attention to this restaurant - it's damaging his brand (I'm from Chicago and have dined at his restaurants) Stay away - order Uber Eats - it will be faster and better. read more

In the hotel bar tired from a flight I decided to not leave and just order food. Cesar salad (never a fan of a salad I have to chop up myself), flatbread pizza, spicy garlic wings, and surf and turf later the food shockingly wasn't bad. The chicken wings packed a punch of heat! The pizza cheese was extremely strong. The shrimp were lackluster but the steak was good. The servers had great energy and were delightful except everything was extremely slow service wise (food, water, bills all took extremely long for a quiet night). I had a smoked Old Fashioned - it was good but wasn't detectably smoky. (Maybe I ordered wrong.) we had a couple appetizers: crostini and burrata. Burrata was good - crunchy on the outside, topped with a nice marinara. Crostini was topped with herbed whipped ricotta and charred grapes. lt was very sweet and a little soggy in the middle... the grapes weren't detectably chatted. I didn't know what to expect when I found out this place was inside the Westin downtown. Hotel restaurants can be really hit or miss. My friend and I decided to check this place out for restaurant week and were pleasantly surprised. It sadly, wasn't very busy, but it is very chic inside. Our waitress was kind; she messed up the pacing of our meal a little when two of our courses came out at the same time, but other than that she was patient and sweet. We started with the burrata and meatballs. The burrata was alright, but honestly the meatballs were terrible. I would stick with their bread as that part was tasty! We both got the Cesar salad and it was absolutely delicious. A huge portion, with a nice touch of crispy prosciutto and a charred lemon. For our main courses we split the chicken strozzapretti and the mushroom rigatoni. Man, was I blown away here. The pastas were well cooked, the sauces were delicious, and we couldn't stop eating these dishes or trying to decide which was better. The portions were all really generous too. For dessert we finished with the strawberry and banana cheesecakes. Both of which were really tasty and the banana was especially unique (although if I had to pick I would say I liked the strawberry). I've visited Bar Cicchetti a few times now and it has been a great experience. My bartender was Anton each time and he did a fabulous job! I've tried a lot of things on the menu due to going with friends. Menu highlights have been the burrata, meatballs, and the truffle salad. I know that they are going through a lot of changes with their menu and bar menu and I can't wait to see what else they come up with. Located in the Westin, it's beautifully decorated and looks upscale. You'll have to find parking around the area as they do not have a lot. We made it just in time for happy hour (4-6) and the menu is reasonably priced. I got the happy hour $6 wine pour along with the calamari ($10) and the Rigatoni bolognese ($10). The rigatoni was so flavorful. Probably my favorite one! The happy hour portions are smaller than their normal sized. It was perfectly portioned for me honestly and I was full leaving the place. We had such a wonderful evening out and Bar Cicchetti by Fabio Viviani made for a perfect Friday night with some friends. A little higher price point but excellent service and delicious food! I think they have only been open a few months so definitely recommend checking this place out. We parked in the Columbus Commons Parking garage, but there was valet, street parking, and other paid parking lot options as well. There is a direct street entrance and one from inside The Westin Great Southern Hotel as well. Matthew was our server and was great. He was attentive, super nice, and was able to navigate us through the menu. I did a lot of googling names and pic searching on my own so absolutely adding my pics to help. For appetizers, the Rosemary And Olive and Focaccia ($9) was a great app. We had two for the table as well as the Polpetti Di Fabio ($18), aka meatballs. Only negatives was the high sun was a bit blinding from the window where we sat and the manager came by and talked to us about the meal and he even mentioned they have plans and are going to do something with that. The only other possible negative thing was one person in our party was not a fan of the Taleggio cheese on Bar Cicchetti Steak Burger ($24). They offered to remake it without the cheese or make something else but he just went with a liquid dinner instead. I had the Strozzapreti Verde ($27) and it exceeded any expectations. That pasta is amazing. It had Italian Sausage, Fennel, Blistered Tomato,Broccolini, Basil, Parmesan, and Egg Yolk. Wasn't sure how I felt about the egg yolk (no egg whites) when ordering but mixed it up when the dish arrived and it was perfect in the dish. My partner had the Stufato Citta ($34) with Smoked Chicken, Shrimp, Clams, Charred Fennel, Cannellini Beans, Tomato, and Smoked Jus. He said there was a lot of rich flavors that he enjoyed but wished it had a little bit more chicken, and maybe some crostini or something to dip in the broth but would definitely recommend the dish. For DESSERTS. Our table tried these three and they were all wonderful. I felt they were a little skimpy on the cake and Tart for $12. 1. Tiramisu ($12) - so good. Goes really well with an after dinner coffee too. 2. Pistachio Mascarpone Cake ($12) - a soft cake with Toasted Pistachio, White Chocolate Crunch (reminded me of a coated cereal or snack topping). 3. Lemon Custard-Almond Tart ($12). This was amazing custard and was well balanced with Spiced Anglaise (a French cream/sauce) & Whipped Cream. I had a bite and loved the crust. I do believe I am going to go with this nextime. I would consider it a bit of a pricy spot but so happy we checked this place out! I had a bottle of mineral water (Perrier) but others loved the cocktails and enjoyed some wine. For dinner, I would plan on about $40-$60 a person for food and dessert (cocktails add more) but you would not have to drop that much to enjoy a meal here. Absolutely everything looked good. We were impressed with the selections and the very reasonable prices. After walking around the area I decided to continue my patronage. Glad I did. I'm sorry to say I was not wowed on my visit here. We had trouble finding it and then realized it was inside the Westin hotel. It has recently been redone to this restaurant whose main location is in NYC I believe. I started with the Pistachio Smack to drink and it was good, but not $16 good. It did have a nice pistachio flavor but it wasn't anything to write home about. Probably my favorite item we tried was the Crostino Del Giorno. This was a thick piece of toast with whipped ricotta, charred grapes, and truffle honey. The flavors and textures worked really well. The only downside to this is that it's a bit messy to eat but was worth it. For my main dish I had the Chicken Thigh Marsala. When this was put in front of me my first thought was how small the plate was. It was very hard to cut the meat and get bites on my fork without things falling off the sides of the plate. On top of that, the chicken was quite fatty. I know thighs have more fat than a breast or other white meat, but the pieces I received were particularly fatty. Upsides to this dish: the sides. The crispy potatoes and broccolini were both really delicious. I would have just eaten them alone if I could. Against my better judgement I tried a $12 dessert. I went with the pistachio mascarpone cake. Usually pistachio is a very pungent flavor but I couldn't detect it at all. Ordering this was my biggest regret of the meal. Overall I would not return unless someone else was picking up the bill. read more

And while a beautiful presentation, it was awkward to cut for a couple minutes while everyone else ate. The portion was small, as this was the case for most the dishes. Definitely a small plates / tapas vibes. The meatballs were great! Those I would definitely order again! My boyfriend ordered the seafood pasta and loved it. Also, it's not easy to find as it's located in a hotel, but that's not very clear before or when you arrive. I brought my friend here for a thank you dinner after he had watched my dog for the week. The restaurant was beautiful and elegant. It is located inside the Westin hotel downtown. We walked from my friends apartment so we luckily didn't have to worry about the parking. We got the spicy wings and the black rice arancini. The arancini were phenomenal- it was nice and crispy on the outside and paired with the sauce, it was perfect. The wings were also great, but the arancini was the star of the show for me. Another notable item was my drink. I got the bourbon twilight which comes with a show! The waitress came out and smoked it right at our table. Overall, we had a fantastic time. We had a miserable time there on Thursday Dec 19, 2024. Our reservation was for 6, and we had theater tix for 7:30. We were not seated until 6:20 and did not talk to a waited until 6:35. Great date night today at this new modern Italian restaurant! Everything was so fresh and you knew you were getting a great dish every time. Our waiter, Jeremy, was so attentive to us and told us about the menu and specials. We got the fondue special (which is just a weekly dish) and the black arancini balls to start. We then got the tutta carne pizza (meat pizza) and Lumache neri (seafood pasta) for the main courses! Everything was so flavorful and delicious. You can tell it's all home made. It was so nice the Chef came out to talk to us and ask how the dishes were. We got the tiramisu for dessert and it was sooo amazing. This is definitely a great dinner for a special occasion. We almost walked out but the food is worth it. The chef here clearly knows what they are doing because the food was delicious! At least me point I was asking if we could tip the chef because the server certainly didn't deserve it. We had a 7:15 reservation from open table and they were wide open when we booked it. The server didn't seem to have much experience and it showed when we order a $64 bottle of wine and she brought it to the table already open. The decor is beautiful. I can't stress this enough: it. smelled. So. Good. The smells wafting as we waited were scrumptious. I ended up having salmon with lemon risotto. Say what? And my hot hubby had pasta made with Calabrian chili. Dammit! I can't wait to go back and try everything else. We had a very nice dinner at Bar Cicchetti. We were there with a group of 6 of us. The restaurant is inside the Westin. There is valet parking available. Street parking is scarce. There are also a couple of parking lots and garages within a block or two. Ambience is nice. The space is fairly large and roomy. I had the bourbon drink which was tasty with a nice little smoky flavor to it. My wife had the fig infused vodka drink which she enjoyed. We tried the burrata, crostini, arancini, focaccia, and chicken wings appetizers. The chicken wings were fried great. The sauce was a bit overpowering because I think there was too much of it on the wings. The burrata was perfect. The arancini balls had a nice flavor to it. I ordered the grilled salmon. The grill on it was perfectly cooked with skin on. The grits and brussel sprouts that it came with were a little underwhelming. The brussel sprouts were mushy and over cooked. The orichette cooked perfect with a nice pistachio pesto and just the right amount of spice with the chilli. Desserts were all very good. Light and airy and not overwhelmingly sweet. So, we were really excited to try out Fabio Viviani's Newest location in the Westin Great Southern in Columbus. It is a brand new restaurant and the staff is quite new. Everyone who greeted us was very warm and friendly to include Ricky the valet. Our server Brittany was amazing and very friendly and helpful. The cocktails were fantastic as Maria had the Fig mule and I went with the Bourbon Twilight, while Caitlyn had a very nice Shirley Temple. We started our dinner with the Polpetti Di Fabio and the Rosemary and olive focaccia. The meatballs were amazing and the sauce was so fresh and the only complaint would be for more of the grilled bread to get every last bite. No worries used the Focaccia to finish it off. The whipped ricotta was very good as well. For our entrees Maria got another shareable with the Black Rice Arancini and a side of of the Lemon Polenta. My daughter was able to order the Orecchiette with just sauce(off the menu). They were very kind to make this for her. I went with the Rigatoni Bolognese. The pasta's were all homemade and cooked to al dente perfection. The sauces were all amazing you could taste each of the ingredients and it was a special plate of food. As for Maria's Arancini the black rice was wonderful and the Romesco was lovely. As for the Lemon Polenta is was creamy and with such a fresh lemon bite, and the lardon was the perfect finish to the dish. Brittany then surprised us with the pistachio cake. Oh my, it was so good I did finish the last little bite. During our visit Mike the GM was there to insure we had an amazing visit. Overall I would say run don'twalk to Bar Cicchetti! The main dining room was also affected by bright sunlight coming directly into it with untinted windows which did not look comfortable. The food was amazing and reasonably priced.
