I came here for my birthday, and it ended up being one of my favorite nights in Atlanta. The desserts and cocktails were fantastic, but what really makes Bar Ana special is the atmosphere. It feels like stepping into a bygone era where talking to strangers isn't awkward and everyone is genuinely welcoming. We ordered two cocktails, including the Thai tea bourbon cocktail, which I loved, and for dessert we tried the guava donuts and the mini mango dessert. The guava donuts were definitely the star of the night. Our waitress was incredibly kind, but the warmth extended to everyone there. At one point, the entire bar sang "Happy Birthday" to me, and later a DJ had people up line dancing. It felt less like a dessert bar and more like a community gathering. I also appreciated how openly queer-friendly and inclusive the space felt. Great food, creative cocktails, wonderful people, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. We stopped by Bar ANA after seeing Lisa Marie Lovett for a nightcap & to recap the poetic fellowship. What a perfect way to end the evening. We settled into the cozy, quaint VIP room, curated for no more than 10 guests, from my lens. The dim lighting, easy flow & intimate ambiance made it feel like our own little escape. The serving staff was amazing, & the music added the perfect melodic flow throughout the bar. With dedicated parking, artfully plated desserts & curated cocktails, Bar ANA offers a refined yet vibrant late-night experience in the Poncey Highland area. Although we did not delight in the curated dessert offerings, I saw that the Afro-Latin & Caribbean inspiration is led by Executive Pastry Chef Claudia Martínez, a James Beard nominee - salute. This semi-hidden bar is giving sultry, moody vibes and is definitely a cute spot for a date night or girls' night out. It's pretty tiny, but if you get there early, there appears to some space and seating at the bar. Arturo was great and provided excellent service throughout the visit. The specialty cocktail menu has a good variety of drinks featuring different spirits. I had the maldito primavera and guava g&t. Personally, I didn't find the drinks boozy, but they were tasty. I prefer my cocktails more spirit forward. My friends ordered a Long Island for a second round, and said it tasted nothing like a Long Island...and again lacked the boozy taste. I'm not typically a fan of guava, but I enjoyed the guava doughnuts. The vanilla bean crème brûlée was another favorite for me. I loved the combination of textures and the Frosted Flakes. They also provide a complimentary trail-mix-like snack, which was a nice savory break from all the sweet flavors. The space is very cutesy with plenty of photo ops, so definitely come camera-ready. Between the atmosphere, specialty cocktails, and desserts, this is a fun little spot to add to the list for a cute and calm date or girls' night. read more

This was a cutie hidden gem. I met one of my friends here as we were looking for a place to meet up for drinks and snack snacks. What a perfect spot! The GPS takes you to a parking lot. And this bar is on the backside of a restaurant. It almost gave speakeasy vibes just because the door was pretty nondescript and I thought for sure I was going through the servers entrance. The host was very friendly and welcoming. They give you a little snack of roasted pecans, chocolate, and plantains, I think. It was a nice nutty, salty little pallet cleanser prior to your drinks and desserts. Our server was amazing and very patient with us. She knew the menu like the back of her hand and provided excellent recommendations. She she informed us that the menu changed often and alluding to us needing to come back because of drinks and desserts. All in all 10 out of 10 would highly recommend indefinitely will be back. Visited Bar Ana on a whim on a late Saturday night, almost midnight to be honest. So glad we did though! Bar Ana is a new dessert bar off Ponce, with speakeasy vibes. It is a small space but we were able to grab seats at the bar. The dessert menu is unique as they have a pastry chef cheating the menu. The drinks also are unique as well. Based on the bartender's recommendation, we went with the vanilla pavlova for our dessert and we were very pleased! We finished the dessert in less than 5 minutes, it was that good. The Guava G&T was the best gin and tonic I've ever had. My friend really enjoyed her Day Trip cocktail as well. I also cannot forget to mention the vibes, the playlist they had going was amazing. Hit after hit! My first experience at Bar Ana was a 10 out of 10. I can't wait to visit again to try another dessert off the menu. read more

Best Atlanta speakeasy nestled on Ponce. Our server was amazing: great energy, knowledgeable and dance moves that only MJ could mimic. Came by on a Sunday night with a reservation and they were able to seat us a few minutes early. Service was kind and attentive - kind of wish the seats weren't so close to other parties though, felt a little squeezed in. My friends enjoyed their drinks and I really enjoyed the dessert. Hidden behind a green door in the back of a building, Bar Ana is perhaps one of the coolest spots to open in Atlanta in 2025. Not because of the speakeasy concept, that has been played before, then again and eventually overplayed. It is the concept of Bar Ana that makes it a very special place. So, the idea is simple: let's make incredible desserts and serve them alongside beautifully crafted cocktails. Each cocktail here is crafted with beauty in mind. They are not about pushing boundaries of cocktail creativity or creating theater from the presentation, but they are elegant in ways that a designer item is elegant. Thin stemmed glassware, careful color coordination and subtle touches make them a pleasure to observe on the tabletop. Of course, they taste great as well. There is also a sense that each cocktail matches the decor of Bar Ana as well, which is executed in ways that speakeasies rarely do it with a degree of texture and color coordination that more closely resembles a pastry shop. As far as the pastries, they are all beautifully presented and executed. Mostly American style desserts with hints of South American influences. While there aren't actual cakes here, these are interesting compositions that pair well with cocktails. To match with the rest of the experience, the opening team working at Bar Ana does a spectacular job both coordinating and advising guests. Such a great experience! The space is small and can get loud, but I definitely recommend it for a wonderful dessert. We tried three dishes, and we loved the guava glazed doughnuts. So simple, but so delicious! The mango white chocolate dessert was stunning and the bread pudding with banana was on point. As soon as I arrived I said this would be a great date night spot but is easy to miss as it's to the back of a building down a hill. It was very loud when I entered but it was a small space with a lot of people inside. I sat at the bar and just a warning the bar seats are not short people friendly. I tried the guava G&T and the guava donuts... If you can't tell already I like guava. I absolutely loved the drink and the donuts were good too the cream cheese ice cream that came with the donuts was a little too sweet for me but tasted just like cream cheese. read more

Couldn't wait to try Bar Ana! We went for dessert and drinks after dinner in the city. We didn't make a reservation because none were available when we looked. Luckily we were able to sit at a table and had about 1h before the next reservation showed up. This was plenty of time! The dimmed lights and close seating creates the perfect date night setting. There are also a few bar seats. Our waitress Xilenia was sooo sweet and made the experience even better. We loved her recommendations for drinks and dessert. I had a glass of reisling that was pleasantly dry and not too sweet. We shared the guava donuts -- 10/10! It came with cream cheese ice cream and we ate every bite. There was a delicious guava sauce under and on the donuts that set everything off! Hubby really enjoyed his Mahalo cocktail - their cocktails are spirit forward so they do the job . Bar Ana is a dessert and cocktail bar owned by award winning pastry chef Claudia Martinez and hospitality entrepreneur Artie de los Santos. Located where El Bar used to me, the vibes are chic and sexy and you feel transported as soon as you step through their green door. Enjoyed the Ana Daiquiri with passionfruit and cardamom and the Cafe Correcto which to me was like a mix between an old fashioned and espresso martini. Really enjoyed the guava doughnuts and apple spice cake as well. Appreciate that they also have a few snacks like olives and charcuterie with local cheeses. I love a speakeasy and especially one with cool history. The menu was 10 out of 10, but I was so bummed I came after last call on desserts. I think that's after 11 pm. A huge bummer since that's what they are known for. The moody small bar felt cozy for a post-flight drink, just a 5-minute walk from my hotel, so it was a vibe. My friends and I went to Bar ANA for the first time and we loved the experience!! Finding the door to get in was a bit tricky, but I really enjoyed the concept of it being more hidden as a speakeasy. When you enter, you're greeted by the host stand, and the host was very sweet and accommodating for us. Then, you walk through a thick curtained doorway to the bar, and the interior is decorated beautifully. The area is quite small, and gives a more intimate atmosphere with the limited seating. Unless you're walking in for the bar seating, I highly recommend getting a reservation for a table. Even if you come in for bar seating, because the seats are limited and the restaurant is quite popular, I think you'd have to come by earlier in the evening in order to guarantee a chair. We were a group of 5, so we were seated in a more secluded lounge area off to the side with a large couch and some small tables for food and drinks. We ordered almost all of the different cocktails: the dirty pineapple, guava g&t, ANA daiquiri, mahalo, and caribbean sour. As someone who prefers sweet cocktails, I thought the drinks were quite strong in alcohol flavor, at least more than I expected. They were still delicious, and my favorite was the guava g&t and caribbean sour which were the sweeter options of the ones we tried. We also had the charcuterie platter and guava donuts--I absolutely LOVED the guava donuts!!! The charcuterie board was also good, but for the price, I wish it was a fuller plate. I loved Bar ANA, but what left the biggest impression on me was the exceptional service! From the host stand, to our server, to the general staff checking in on us, everyone was so sweet, attentive, and welcoming! There was a lady who came to check on us a couple times, I unfortunately missed her name, she had short black hair and a contagiously bubbly and fun personality, and came by a couple times to check on us and even recommended a couple to great drinks for us to try. I wanted to give her a small shout out, she was so sweet and personable!! The lighting in the lounge was red, but the rest of the bar had normal dimmed lighting. I wanted to point that out because all my pictures show the red lighting. All in all, we had a great time, got a lot of cute pictures, and really enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance.
