Came here for burger night that (as of 5/2026) starts at 8:30 on Tuesday nights. The space is not large, but it's really nice and it has a great vibe. I'm not sure if it's really busy on all the other weeknights but I'm guessing the traffic on the Tuesday night had to deal with burger night. The folks here are very friendly and you can feel the sense of hospitality. I was able to squeeze in at the end of the bar since I was by myself. I got a cocktail and of course the burger. I have to say, that's a really tasty burger and considering the ingredients I feel like the price is great. For the cocktail, I got the Saigo. What a tasty cocktail with great balance. Parking in the area to get a little tricky, but on a weeknight, I feel like it's a little easier. I'm hoping to come back soon to try different cocktails on the menu and the hotdog as well. read more

Bar 109 is a very cozy and intimate bar with a great vibe and ambiance. It's a great date spot where you can have good conversations. That said, the service was not good. The bartender was grumpy and a bit rude to my date and I. I wondered if he had a personal issue going on but it was a bit off putting as a first impression to the bar. The saving grace was the wagyu hotdog and wine. Not terribly expensive and tasty. There is some street parking nearby but it is harder to find. I don't think I would come here often but perhaps once in a blue moon. read more

Tried to take advantage of the fact that Coachella leads folks elsewhere this weekend. Strolled into the bar about half an hour after opening. But the place soon filled to the gills. Excellently made cocktails under $20 in the city?! Be still my heart! Had the refreshing Saigo which was very gimlet-esque and highball. Both were very good. We just chilled at the bar with drinks and snacks. Damn these snacks are great! There's no cheese, but that fish sandwich comes with an amazing nanban-style tartar sauce that's made with medium-boiled eggs. It was rich and lush, but also sour with the cornichon bits and citrus makes one of my favorite tartar sauces. The fish was moist, though perhaps a little overshadowed by the sauce. The hot dog was one of those great snappy dogs that I adore. Pepper relish didn't do as much for me since it was definitely overpowered by the proper French Dijon mustard drizzled on top. Very honorable notice to their veggie sticks...genius large matchsticks of celery and cucumber marinated in a soy vinaigrette and then showered with Furikake. I'm gonna steal this for home use. Shout out to Adam, who took care of us. If this was my 'hood, they'd be taking my money at least once a week. read more

LOVED this spot! everyone was super friendly and kind and our server was super informative and helpful! We asked a lot of questions and she was super sweet. The vibe was modern, sexy, and cozy while creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The Saigon drink was really balanced and refreshing. The standout was the fish sandwich. It was really tangy, unique, and very saucy with chopped pickles and even egg. Super different and the bread was super soft and fluffy. The hot dog was good but it didn't taste like wagu so it felt overpriced for what it was but still yummy. I would happily go back and you should all check it out!! read more

Wow! The burger is no joke! Come on Tuesday nights after 8:30! They have one of the best burgers I've had and the drinks and bar snacks are also great! The burger is super moist and fatty but it doesn't feel fatty. The proportions feels right and just such a depth of true hamburger flavor. We also got the fish sandwich which is also a really good take on it. Maybe less appetizing compared to the burger but if you can't get the burger, the fish sandwich is a close second. While this is a bar, I have to say the food is where it's at. The drinks are good. I really enjoyed mine and the bartenders were super friendly and made the vibe great but I say come for the burger! read more

Matt B. and I went to Bar 109 last month for pre-dinner drinks with our friends Carol A. and Kevin W. I'd gathered that the place was small and didn't take reservations, and as it was a Saturday, we arranged to go right around opening, at 6:00. Matt and I arrived about ten after and only one of the three tables was still unoccupied, though there were still seats at the bar. We claimed it and watched the place fill up over the next fifteen minutes. I imagine it's quite difficult to walk in much later than 6:30. The bar was attractive and intimate with a clean, modern vibe. Service was great, and our table was super comfortable. I guess that's the upside of a small bar that must not let in more customers than it can seat. If you arrive early enough, the experience is easy and peaceful. There was a short menu of bar snacks, and we got $5 worth of mixed cocktail nuts, which were nicely spiced and satisfying. I'd be curious about the fried fish sandwich or the wagyu beef dog, which could serve as a casual dinner. I'm also curious, of course, about Corridor 109, but that's for another day. We tried five of the eight signature cocktails on offer that night, everything but the highball and the two spirit-free options. They were all excellent. The Marine Layer was a cool martini variation with gin, Manzanilla, dry vermouth, saline, and white kelp. The Sanshito was a lovely refreshing rum drink with light and dark rum, sansho pepper, and calamansi. Also on the refreshing side was the Saigo, a mezcal cocktail with cucumber, elderflower, Del Santo, and lime. The two whiskey drinks were probably my favorite, delicious twists on an Old Fashioned and a Boulevardier. The Mikan Old Fashioned mixed whiskey with orange umeshu and Szechuan and cocoa bitters. The Oolong Boulevardier was made with bourbon, oolong tea, Campari, and rosso vermouth. We don't go to bars too often these days, but 6:00 at Bar 109 is just right for a night with babysitting. We'll be back for more of those cocktails, and maybe one day, we'll make our way to Corridor 109. read more

bar 109 is a solid addition to ktown - outskirts in the northwest area towards larchmont on western bordered by melrose next to a gas station. there aren't many solid full bars in ktown that serve decent cocktails except for maybe the venue, and the now defunct intercrew. the prince and grungier HMS. 109 definitely fills a gap for solid bartenders and interesting, higher quality bar bites you cannot get in ktown. the interior is sleek and modern. i only got to try the fish sandwich, which was decent. they seem to be perpetually low or out of the fish dip as it was not available both times i went. both times i had just had dinner or was getting ready to go to dinner so i haven't had the chance to go in depth through their menu. the bartenders are hip, personable, and decently skilled in the cocktails they make. i think i've also been tended to by the creator/owner and he was chill and cool as well with recommendations and service. space is not very big. i inadvertently tried going the first time on a tuesday burger night, and there was a long wait so i left. there's a restaurant in back, but i haven't gotten around to trying that yet. parking can be a little tricky. there's no valet, but on weekdays or earlier hours, you can probably snag meter parking on western a block or two down. happy to have a new, decent cocktail bar in/near ktown in the rotation. hope they continue to hone their food menu that i look forward to trying. read more

Bar 109 is the minimalist front bar just outside the restaurant Corridor 109, which apparently is the hardest reservation to acquire currently. It's so minimal that most will drive or walk past it unless you are being very attentive... Inside, it's wonderfully dark. Three small tables. A marble bar bathed in low light. A carefully crafted by-the-glass menu of interesting wine selections and hand crafted cocktails. A tiny menu of dishes, with maybe five or six on any given night, all of which will prove to be very good and delicious... The Smoked Salmon Dip w Crackers - a must start appetizer of delicious house smoked salmon cut into chunks with a creamy dill sauce and a wedge of lemon, no seeds... terrific, smoky, luscious, maybe could use a few more crackers as we finished it right off the spoons. 9/10 Fish Sandwich - perfectly fried, deliciously messy, topped with a glop of their tartar-like sauce, served in a hot buttered (potato?) bun and with pickles on the side 9/10 Wagyu Hot Dog - soft texture, good Dijon mustard, didn't feel the Wagyu added so much to the notion of the flavor a dog is meant to impart but it was wonderfully smooth and subtle... gourmand not beating the great LA Dogs you get on most corners in Hollywood covered in sauces, bacon, shmootz etc. 8/10 Celery & Cucumber Green Spears in Magic Sauce - I cannot stop thinking about how they turned these simple vegetables into a most divine appetizer by the dressing (sesame oils and everything) 10/10 Marine Layer Martini - a delicious and briny play on a martini with a thinly shaved and rolled piece of kelp in place of the olive or pearl onion one might expect. 9/10 All in all, Bar 109 is worth the visit for sure. It's intimate. Feels like high end bars in Tokyo. The service is impeccable. Just be ready for the sticker price at the end of the night because it is pricey. So glad that Corridor 109 opened a bar! I went to Corridor 109 in 2022 and had one of the most amazing meals from Chef Brian Baik. Corridor 109 is always impossible to book. I am so glad that they opened Bar 109 right next to the new Corridor 109, which will open in a few months. Now Bar 109 just opened and in its soft opening stage, I am glad that I can get a taste of Corridor 109 again. There are nice light bites with amazing cocktails and sake and wine list. Sake can be ordered by the glass or by the bottle. I liked all the dishes I ordered, and the Smoked Fish Dip as nice. Their Wagyu Dog was good with the mustard and ketchup. Yes, Wagyu came in hot dog style. The vibe is casual. It's a cool place to hang out with friends. Parking maybe a bit tricky. They have a few spaces on the side. read more

The service is fantastic, the drinks are great and the fish sandwich is the star. We tried the Oolong Boulevardier & Marine Layer to start. If you enjoy strong whiskey cocktail or a martini, get those. We finished with the Ichigo punch and the Sanshito, both which were sweet, delightful and dangerous. I like drinks that border on sweet but you could really slam them without thought because they were enjoyable bright and refreshing. Of the bar foods we tried, I'd say pass on the Torres chips. Those are really just potato chips...like Lays, nothing special. The Wagyu dog was delicious but not killer- solid bite, great snap. The smoked fish was delicious but let's talk about what the real star of the bar menu is... the fried fish sandwich. First, it's described as a fried fish sandwich on potato bread with tartar sauce& a pickle. It comes with several pickles, the fish is fried perfectly but the surprise is the tartar sauce is essentially an egg salad tartar sauce. The fish maintains its crispiness under that unctuous spread while sandwiched between those buttery buns. It almost makes me regret ordering the Wagyu dog and just eating a whole fish sandwich by myself. So, go get your libation on and that fish sandwich. My new favorite neighborhood bar! I was able to walk to this spot and get a table right away -- which is hard to find in LA. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. They made accommodations to my drink, which was unique and yummy. The food was comforting, the fish sandwich was unexpectedly good. The hot dog was okay. The ambiance was cool, I felt like I was transported to an early 2000s New York bar. Lots of fun art galleries to explore afterwards! Would come again! read more
