Assorted chicken and veggie baos
Bhagyashree B.

The service was a little slow and staff seemed quite overwhelmed at this Bao'd Up location in Mueller. We haven't had similar experience at other Bao'd ups. It took a while for our order but baos were served warm in bamboo containers as usual and tasted good. However, they messed up one of the baos on our order and gave us a different filling. Seating inside is a bit cramped with two benches available right outside the restaurant too.

5 star for the service I received today! Wanted to pick up a Fantastic Four set of the pork buns-- since the change in recipe I've been really enjoying the juicier interior with a pan fried bottom. Then I saw that the soup dumplings were discounted for Bao Club members which I had signed up for free a while back. I ordered at the counter because they need to scan the QR code which can't be done at the self checkout kiosks for to go orders. Because the soup dumplings were dine in and the pork buns were to go, we had to place two separate orders. We got out to go order relatively fast since the buns don't appear to be made for order. We sat there patiently for the soup dumpling but after a couple more minutes and a couple of awkward eye contacts with the cashier, she noticed something was wrong. The kitchen didn't see the soup dumpling order so as an apology, she brought out two buns on the house for us to munch on while we waited for the soup buns. Presentations of the buns looked great! Once it came out it was piping out and as you can see in the image, only one bun didn't make it out unscathed. There is a decent amount of soup in there so be cautious of taking a bite or a spoon to the dumplings since the soup will most likely shoot out. The aluminum egg tart containers are also great at holding in the broth. The soup for the soup dumpling had a gingery tang to it and we got it with the chili oil. The chili oil had a lot more oil than chili but I think it did what was expected. One downside was that even though there is a water bar near the restrooms, it was empty when I was trying to get myself a drink to pass my waiting time. I personally don't visit bao'd up too often but now that I've tried their soup dumpling and am finding myself enjoying the 1.50 pork buns more, I might find myself here on more evenings!

I ordered online, this is my first time having this kind of food. It is a bit out of my comfort zone. The texture of everything was great, protein flavor was not very bold, I did like how the veggies paired well with the food. The sauces all had bold flavor. Wasabi was very strong. Honey Hoisin Sauce had more of a teriyaki flavor, not very spicy pretty mild, and it didn't have that sweetness teriyaki sauce does. The food itself, online service, and presentation was all great but it is not my kind of taste.

My daughter loves buns and dumplings and this bao place gave her a happy birthday she loved the food and had to have seconds good thing they have the self order screens and for being a weekend it wasn't that packed as I expected the services was excellent very friendly and prompt helping customers we all order boba drinks but I personally didn't like what I order the rest diner complain so am assuming they were good. We are definitely coming back! Ps I really enjoyed the spicy beef dumplings, no picture sorry.

Utilized this location for catering and when needing a quick bite before catching a movie at Alamo Drafthouse. They have a menu featuring quick and easy bites to enjoy yet all are very filling. They have Szechuan fries, regular fries, baos, guaboas, and hand breaded chicken strips to name a few. There's a few tables to enjoy if you want to dine inside as well. Service can take a quick moment depending on staff but it's worth the wait.

We came here for dinner and ordered the crispy chicken taco, crispy chicken basket, and custard baos. Since we were really hungry, these filled us up. Beware that the pictures on the menu make the items look much smaller than they actually are. So portion sizes are pretty good. The crispy chicken tacos were good, but I wish they came with a sauce to add extra flavor. The crispy chicken basket had a generous portion, and my husband really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend the custard baos--they were very plain and lacked flavor. I was expecting something more dessert-like. Overall, I'd still recommend this place for when you are super hungry and need food fast. The food was good, the service was good, and they have a few tables inside for seating.

Nice little steam bun Korean type food that was very delicious. I lived in the neighborhood for a while and have came back a few times. They also have Boba so that's a good thing as well. Everything's fresh and made the order. I've never had a bad meal here so definitely would try it out

We came to have their 2 for $2 pork baos back to school special which was a great deal. The baos were juicy and flavorful and served in steaming baskets. I got an Asian sesame salad as a side which was tasty and the croutons were delightfully crispy. The restaurant was clean and pleasant and overall a great place to grab a casual, reasonably priced meal.

2 stars cuz I do love the dan dan noodles HOWEVER the pale girl with the pink bow is extremely rude. I was standing in fron of her and she kept talk to people around me as I've never ordered in store and always online. 100% WONT RETURN as she tried to cop an attitude with me when I called her over from just standing there. To top it off She slammed my order down. Rude asf and then these places wonder why they are going out of business 1 by 1. Hiring gen z is surely a business fail

Great good! Had ramen, soup dumplings, and 3 different bao's

Great food and great prices! I would try all the different bao buns! Loved the boba tea too! Perfect touch!

First time trying but I thought it was so good! The ordering process was so simple and an order of 2 pork baos was so cheap! The server was very friendly as well. The baos came out fast and they came out fresh! And they were so so filling! I am a big fan of the dough, it was so fluffy and airy. I definitely want to come back to try more of the menu, it all looked so good! The milk tea was very good as well and came in a decent size for the price. Just the right amount of sweetness. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy this food in the nice weather, definitely would come back.

Now offering new desserts! This was so good. I can't wait to have it when it's colder outside.

The standout was the shrimp pancake that had a really great texture and flavor. The snow crab ball had a strange texture with shrimp surrounding the snow crab claw. The Chinese Sticky Rice is always a favorite. Also ordered the Truffle Egg Fried rice and Birds Nest with Seasonal Vegetable. The Truffle rice is so flavorful like a flavor explosion in your mouth. The Birds Nest is made with fried potato shreds which contain the a variety of vegetables including cauliflower, peppers, mushrooms and asparagus. The nest is also edible and has a crunchy texture. The presentation of the food is amazing and everything came out hot and fresh. The flavors were on point, and you can tell there's attention to detail in the preparation. The only challenge we had was that they would not allow split checks or at least partially split checks - so we spend a huge amount of time figuring out what everyone owed. I wouldn't do a large group here in the future, but I'd definitely come back for a date or small group.

More of a diner/casual place and I can see people coming here for social gatherings. Wouldn't recommend for very large parties though. There is parking behind the restaurant and since the restaurant isn't that big, I don't think it would take long to find a spot. You definitely get what you paid for. We got the hanger steak and chicken and it was more than enough. We got some appetizers because we thought the entrees wouldn't be filling enough but were so wrong. And surprisingly, the main entree entree chicken wasn't dry and pretty flavorful. The steak was also cooked well - wish there was more flavor but the condiments complimented it very well. I would also get the umami wings (well cooked and great flavor). Service is A plus - the workers were all very attentive, personable, answered any questions we had. We had a mishap with our bill and the (I think?) manager was so nice and accommodating. They also have different specials depending on the day/week! It was extremely tender and the sauce on the bun complimented it very well. It was my birthday and the wait staff gifted me an Ice Cream with Rice Paper Wafers. If I remember correctly, it was called a Thai Movie Theater (could be wrong). Ice cream was drizzled with chocolate, caramel, and fish sauce. Unique, unlike anything I've had before. The Rice Paper Wafers gave it a nice buttery crunch. Wonderful service. Wonderful food. Highly recommend and I will be back!

Both of the sandos were perfect. The wagyu beef sando had a little bit more flavor but it was slight and both are worth trying. The service was stellar and they were easy to book on OpenTable I also tried the green tea mocktail and found it to be light and refreshing and I was happy that it wasn't super sweet My two favorite items were: 1. The Edamame - which were charred in a way that I feel like I've never experienced it before and had such great flavor. 2. The scallop roll had a thinly sliced shaved truffle on top that made the roll simple yet out of this world. Shout out to the manager who came by just to check in. My husband wanted orange chicken but it wasn't on their brunch menu, they were kind enough to still make it, which we appreciated. It was good, but everything else? No. The "mala fried chicken" was basically chicken nuggets with steamed rice, the menu said it had chili oil, I expected it to be drizzled over the chicken but instead was sitting at the bottom of the bowl. I didn't notice it till the end and since I thought they had forgotten it, I asked for some and got just the oil. Idk if that's the way they do it, but usually when I ask for chili oil I receive the chili flakes with the oil. Anyways, it was mid. But the brisket fried rice..... now, that had zero flavor. We barely touched it, left the whole thing behind. Between the attitude and the food, it's a no for us. Wouldn't come back.

My fiancé watched her throw up the first time, I only heard it and then saw the evidence all over the seat and the ground. Then I looked over at her and watched her throw up all over their table. Now, obviously it is not the restaurant's fault that this person threw up everywhere. However, they did not make a real effort to clean it up. The staff used paper napkins and tiny squares of washcloths to push the chunky vomit into a trash bag under their table, but did not disinfect the ground, seat, or table. We were gagging due to the smell of the vomit. I had to hold a handful of ginger to my nose to mask the vomit smell. Luckily we were at the end of our meal, but I had to request that they put a towel onto the ground that we could step on to avoid walking through vomit chunks and bringing that into our car and home on the bottoms of our shoes. I would expect a restaurant to train their employees on food safety and cleanliness standards. I don't expect them to kick everyone out and deep clean the restaurant, but a mop and some disinfectant is the bare minimum. We will never come back here just based on the lack of cleanliness. We won't even be ordering takeout because if that's how they treat the seating area, what are the cleanliness standards in the kitchen? So incredibly disappointing and frankly disgusting.
