Another fried chicken shop in the trade food plaza! What I like about this place is the super friendly host who is eager to help and provide an explanation of the food. We got the wings and a sando. Portions are really big here and I really like the balance in the sando. It was a nice balance of coleslaw, pickles, and chicken. Nothing was too much, and it was flavorful in the right way. Not too salty and didn't get soggy either. The chicken wings come in a large batch for the cost and it's such a good deal! However the chicken itself was pretty flavorless which makes sense why they give you so much sauce with the order. The sauce portions are very generous and should be used generously with the chicken. read more

Great find in the TRADE marketplace! Love me a good chicken sandwich spot and Chicciety is that place!! Liliana was super helpful in making suggestions for menu items and I had the Nashville sando, an order of 6 crispy original wings, and some side sauces. The sando was a thigh piece and so so juicy, the flavor was good, and a very mild spice. Chicken wings were pretty big and super crispy. read more

Ok, what a wonderful surprise! Fresh made dumplings at a fried chicken place. I believe it's Chinese fried chicken. My husband got the spicy Nashville chicken sandwich and he devoured it. Wish I got a photo because it was massive! I got xiao long baos and chicken nuggets. Sooooo good!!! Definitely check this place out. The gentleman at the front was so kind. Food is awesome. I had to get my honestly review about the food. The food is really bad. We order original chicken sandwiches, wings and juice pork dumplings. Cost $36 and owner took the credit card fees pump up to $40.xx. Juice pork dumplings (Xiaolongbao）not much meat inside. I don't know how Owner add water in. Look like a lot of juice. But test weird of course. That cost $10 and $1 each. Test really bad and cheap. Fry check just use too much flour to dip fried. If you like crunchy, but you just eat flour. Meat either test bland or very salty. Environment is small food court. Self-severing. Outdoor chair and table. Don't expect is clean. I have no much complaints about. This is just what is it. I recommend don't waste your money. read more

I really wanted to give this a try. I'm glad I did, but it's one and done for me. I got the Nashville chicken sandwich. The bread was pink which I didn't understand why... the chicken itself was delicious, but greasy!!! I paid the price for it. I got really bad stomach aches and food poisoning from it. This experience was just too uncomfortable not to share. The staff was rude, he insisted on giving me a free sample even though I clearly said no multiple times. He said something to my in a language I didn't understand -- which made the whole situation even more unpleasant...... I ordered the spicy fried chicken wings, and guess what? Not spicy at all. Don't advertise something as spicy when it has zero heat. To be fair, the wings themselves tasted good -- and that's the only reason I'm giving this place 1 star instead of zero (if I'm able to do so). But with that attitude from the staff, I'm never coming back. read more

Came here for a quick bite with a friend. I'm really into fried chicken sandos and while I think their fried chicken was very good the sandwich material left a bit to be desired. The bun they used wasn't a brioche and also was colored which made it hard and chewy, felt like it took away from the experience of the chicken inside. They do let you pick between white and dark meat which is a nice touch. Service is booth style where you order and then you wait for your name to be called. The restaurant is in a food court so that's pretty standard. The real wonder however was the chicken tenders for like 7 dollars. It is an *insane* amount of chicken. And honestly probably the best value on the menu. I would highly recommend coming here for their tenders solely on the value alone though the quality also makes it very appealing. Skip the sando but come for the fried chicken. read more

The chicken sandwich was very good... and big! After eating this and a couple fried dumplings, I was stuffed. The owner, despite the language barrier, was friendly and a real character too. He insisted on us smelling the food before eating it, which I loved! The food court is a nice, clean atmosphere too. I'm already planning what to order on my next visit. read more

The chicken sandwich, in my opinion, is as correct as a chicken sandwich can get - freaky looking coating leading to an amazingly crispy and juicy piece of chicken, sandwiched in between normal chicken sandwich accoutrements that don't hamper it. Only problem was, for me, it could've used more seasoning - not a big deal as it came with seasoning salt, and I get it (the usual clientele probably doesn't appreciate as much salt as I do). They're the best! read more

My boyfriend and I discovered Bao Chick on Instagram and decided to check it out today (Friday 10/18). When we arrived there were several people waiting infront of the shop for their orders. The owner was working the cashier, and although he doesn't speak much english he has a great personality. The food took about 20 minutes to come out, and we had already received our orders from some of the other shops in the same plaza as Bao Chick. We ordered the Xiao Long Bao, Fried Chicken Wings, and Pork dumplings. We had high expectations for this place considering all the hype that's been built around it recently, however most our expectations were not met. Both the xiao long bao and regular pork dumplings had too much dough/wrapping on them and left an unpleasant texture when chewing. The Fried chicken was decent, but was only good when we dipped it in one of their sauces, however it was very crispy. All in all, there are definitely other restraunt in the same food plaza as Bao Chick that are worth trying, but wouldn't quite recommend this place over any other dumpling / fried chicken spot. read more

I was at a nearby coffee shop and stopped in this food plaza to get food. I saw that Chicciety had fries so I ordered the beer battered fries, which was really good. The man at the counter was very very sweet and offered me a fried carrot snack before I ordered and it was a 10/10. After I ordered he gave me another fried snack that was so good. Writing this to offset the 1 star review from the dude a couple reviews below me (I was there when he made a scene of his FRIED chicken sandwhich being too "oily" and slamming his food on the counter yelling at the owners) cmon man... Anyway, the food is great. I ordered the pork dumplings, Nashville chicken sandwich, and insane fries! My girlfriend is actually addicted to this place after showing her how good the dumplings were. Huge portions on their chicken sandwich which is always nice. Their soup dumplings are ok but I do enjoy their chicken wings. I ordered spicy wings which they give me a spicy powder which might be a turn off if you prefer spicy sauce. Overall the chicken sandwich is filling and their wings are good if you enjoy original flavor and flaky style read more

Food: my favorite popcorn chicken place and their nashville chicken sandwich is also excellent. Also, the best fries I've ever had. Also, the addition of Taiwanese food is really exciting and delicious! Obsessed with the soy milk - so fresh!!! And the carrot balls and donut are so good. I never thought of combining ranch and donut but it's so good. Service: the man who took our order, I'm assuming may be the owner but I'm not sure, even though he didn't speak English, was soooo incredibly friendly and kind. Chicken tenders were a good size, the crispy texture is the best part. The breading is unique compared to other chicken places in Irvine. The combination of their special sauce , hot oil, and chili seasoning powder kicks up the flavors. The owner was very insistent on trying free samples of their dumplings. The small spot is in the corner of the food court, ample seating with heat lamps, the parking lot gets pretty packed during peak hours. read more

3 minutes ago Worst experience I ever had. 1) xiao long Bao is basically pork fat, $10 for 6 piece, 2) crispy wings are tasteless and also fatty. 3) watch out they charged you 3.99% service fee, when you questioned it, the owner gave you a dirty look and said that is because of the POS system and said "next time pay cash!", here are 2 funny parts: 1) the oil stains inside the food court were from the dripping fat, 2) I kicked myself for tipping 15% $5.51 for doing everything myself. Then, guess what? On the way out, the owner called me back to tell me to bring the baskets back to him. WHAT?!! I said I tip you $5.51, and paid $1.36 service fee, you can't even pickup your own baskets? I do realize it is unbelievable but it is 100% true!!! You can see a photo of my receipt. read more

Top tier food court eats! We got the original chicken sandwich, garlic parm fries, and chicken tenders. The fried chicken is surprisingly light and flaky, it doesn't feel oil and heavy. The owner is so friendly! Gave us samples of the chicken dumplings, which I will order next time. read more

The ordering counter is on the front side of the building. Once parked, you can either walk around the building, or walk through the open-air covered patio. I walked around to get a closer look at the unique chicken-head Beatles' Abbey Road mural on the side of the building. The menu is obviously chicken-focused, and features various sandwiches, wraps, and salads, along with several sides. They also have a small breakfast menu served until noon on the weekend. After ordering, they will give you a number and bring your food when it's ready. I really enjoyed the dining area, which is a covered, open-air space with a high ceiling. I sat in one of the booths towards the front. Each booth has a classic painting on the wall with chicken heads on it. There are also many different types of tables thoughout, and more seating upstairs on the second floor. There is also additional seating in front of their full bar. I had the Coop Deville sandwich (fried breast, pickled fresno chiles, pickles, napa cabbage, lime mayo, artisan brioche bun, $14.50). The chicken breast was thick and piping hot, and had a great crunchy crust on it. All of the ingredients went together well and I loved the flavor. The bun was very fresh, and the sandwich wasn't as messy as I thought it might be. I was still a little hungry, so I went back and ordered the regular sized hand cut fries (regular size $4.50, large size $7.50). They are tossed in schmaltz (chicken fat) and a light dusting of spices. They were hot and fresh, and the regular size was way more than I could eat by myself. They have a self-serve sauce bar with five options on tap including ketchup, Srirarcha T000 Island, Sweet Baby G's BBQ, ranch, and pineapple mustard. I dipped my sandwich in the BBQ and Srirarcha Thousand Island, and my fries in the BBQ, ranch, and pineapple mustard. They have a cornhole game towards the back, are dog friendly, and host trivia night on Thursdays. I enjoyed the food and atmosphere, and would definitely return.

We were Red-Bird first-timers, and the manager, Jay, spent time meticulously walking us through the menu. Jay's descriptions were on point, and the food was absolutely delicious! When I commented on how good the food was to Jay, the way he responded made me think maybe he was the owner. It's so special to have that kind of service (accompanied by such savory flavors). This was a real treat at an affordable price. We hope Jay and his store are recognized for the pride they take in what they do. If this was the show "Undercover Boss," I would definitely put Jay on a track toward ownership.
