My wife and I went in and ordered way too much food, we had a lot of left overs and when we asked for some to-go boxes, the staff told us the best way to package and reheat the food we ordered which we would have been clueless about. The ambiance is very nice and comfortable, the staff and service was top notch and the food was delicious! If you are up for a nice hot bowl of amazing soup this is the place for you. The soups are always served rip roaring hot ( tempurature not spice content) and the broths are superb. My go to is the special beef with noodles. The broth is over the moon and the noodles are cooked just right. Be sure you check out thier bao as well. After all it is called bao bao house. My favorite is the BBQ pork buns. Steamed rice buns filled with chinese BBQ pork. Yum! Service is good and you can get in and out in no time. This is a great restaurant. The food was great. I ordered the seaweed salad and the mushroom chicken fried rice. The salad was excellent. The fried rice was even better. The veggies colors were all vibrant with the right ratio. The chicken slices were clean not greasy mess. I even gave a second thought to ordering another order to take home with me. It was good but I didn't know what to order and it ended up being so bready but the steamed buns are that way. I thought one was a soup one. My bad. The waitress voice was so light and background noise so loud, I couldn't hear her. The cheese and chicken pan fried ones were my favorite. The cheese was tillamook cheddar. Impromptu stop for lunch while road tripping that was delightful! It's larger than it looks from.the outside, and the tables are huge! We were seated immediately on a Sunday early afternoon. After we came in, it seemed to fill up quickly. Our server was quick and polite. We had the cucumber salad (dehydrated cucumbers with a sweet, mildly spicy sauce), pork buns, and pork dumplings. The dumplings were my favorite, hot, steaming, flavorful! The buns were good too. They needed the chili oil sauce (conveniently on the table), but we got everything steamed rather than fried in an attempt to be healthy, so that probably resulted in it being a bit less flavorful. I had never eaten ate Bao Bao House before so this was a new and very enjoyable meal. The place is clean and inviting. The staff immediately seated us. Water was brought promptly to the table as were the utensils and napkins. I was unsure of what to order and asked for a recommendation. I narrowed it down to a soup. The beef broth or double shrimp chicken soup were recommended. I had the latter. My friend ordered steamed pork dumplings. While we waited for the food. There was another worker making fresh dumplings. Since she was sitting behind a glass window, I stood up to watch her. I asked what the powdered stuff was that she was stuffing it with. She told me a brown sugar and something else but I couldn't hear. I didn't know dumplings could be sweet. I learned something new. My soup was ready quickly. The waiter was very proud that their soup stock is made fresh with chicken. I could smell the savory chicken as soon as he set it down in front of me. It was good soup and the bowl was huge. I had to take leftovers home. My friends"'s dumplings took a few minutes longer to be ready. They were delicious too. (We did want to order the cucumber appetizer but they were sold out....must be good. Going to have to go back and try them.) Every wait staff that interacted with us were kind, polite, expedient, and had genuine smiles on their face. Oh hell yeah, this place does not disappoint. Dumplings and steamed buns are always on point.

Clean, open, and comfortable environment. Service was good and the food came out quickly. My family of 3 ordered the soup dumplings, roast-pork buns, two types of beef noodle soup, and a bowl of pork and shrimp wontons. Overall, the food was tasty and we ended up eating everything or taking it to go. I agree with what some other reviewers have noted -- Bao Bao House is best with buns and dumplings; the noodle bowls we ordered were less impressive. The taste and texture of the roast-pork buns was commendable. A lot of times at other restaurants and eateries, the bread portion is too hard, too dry, or too moist, and the filling can also be too dry, too sweet, too wet, especially relative to the bun. At Bao Bao House, the harmony among the ingredients is close to perfect. The xiao long bao (soup dumplings) are LARGE -- at least 1.5x to 2x those at other well-known Taiwanese chains. These xiao long bao were tasty -- the soup wasn't overly fatty, the meatball was substantial, and the dough was tough enough to endure handling without splitting and spilling the soup, but delicate enough that it did not get in the way of eating the dumpling. Overall, I'd go back to Bao Bao House. read more

Eugene/Springfield OR does not really have great Chinese food. Wrong. I found the error of my ways at Bao Bao House in Springfield OR. The Best Chinese I've ever had. No kidding. OK Bao Bao doesn't have a full bar and Giant Statues in front but inside they have chefs making fresh noodles, and really fresh, flavorful, wonderful food. Staff is efficient and friendly. Prices are in line with current pricing but it's worth every penny cuz you know they care. I feel bad about posting this cuz it may alert too many people causing crowds. Oh well. The place was very neat and clean, and I could see a lady making wonton. The broth for the soup was delicious and rich , full of flavor of picked turnips. The vegetarian Bao was outstanding! Filled with what seemed to be Kale, mushrooms, and bits of glass noodles. Also the ginger tea was made fresh with strands of ginger and lemon, but quite sweet.
