If I just got the breakfast burrito every time, I'd give banter a 5 alone. I decided to try the chef's breakfast (seemed newer since the last time I ordered) and the thick cut bacon alone made the meal. Takeout was prompt service. Be aware, they get busy so online ordering may not be available which is a testament to the food. Well worth it. When our kiddo gets older, would love to dine in. It's cozy with indoor and outdoor seating. I'd say on the smaller side during winter, but hardly an issue because the food is that good. read more

I stopped at BANTER AH on a whim with some time to kill first thing in the morning. I was looking for something with fairly healthy offerings for breakfast and coffee. BANTER AH did not disappoint. The decor is sunny and clean with a touch of whimsy. Bathroom is clean and well designed, if a bit dark for daytime use. Service was friendly and attentive. Like the good millennial I am I ordered the Avo Smash with the additions of bacon and a poached egg. It was DELICIOUS. I typically do not make nor order avocado toast because I find it extremely underwhelming. Where most avocado toasts fail, BANTER's Avo Smash excels. Each bite had layers of complexity and deliciousness. The sourdough toast itself was toasted to perfection; the avocado spread was bright and well seasoned. Thinly cut radishes added a crisp crunch and fresh dill really elevated the dish, perfectly complimenting the creamy goats chevre. A touch of pickled fresno chillies kept the dish interesting without adding a whole lot of heat. I had ordered a poached egg just in case, but honestly it was unnecessary. The Avo Smash would have been filling enough without it (still cooked to perfection though!). The bacon I ordered on the side was thiqq; a perfect balance of crunchy and chewy. In addition to my meal I ordered a mocha. It came in a short beverage glass which was cute and highlighted the latte art, but did cool quickly. The mocha was rich without being heavy, and very tasty. For my breakfast with 2 add-ons and a 16 oz mocha the total came to $25 pre-tip, which is a bit pricier than I typically go for first thing in the morning, but truthfully every element of my breakfast was intentional and delicious. We've been in twice - once for dessert and once for dinner/drinks. Both times service has been super friendly! We were a group of 5 that got squished into a booth that should really only seat 4. It was a busy Friday night, though, so we couldn't really blame them. Would've loved to have another chair tacked onto the end. The food was tasty - potato and cheese pierogies were a highlight and the drinks were DELICIOUS. Tried the ube pudding on a previous visit and the milk tea panna cotta on our latest visit. Ok, so I've just returned from day 2 of Banter because day 1 was so good! Plus I'm planning the next visit to try the dinner menu. I raved about the burrito so much yesterday that I brought a friend to try it today. It's magic. Perfectly crispy shell surrounds the creamy deliciousness. Oozy mozzarella cheese, fluffy eggs, rice, beans, avocado, oh my! Top it with some homemade "Hawt" sauce, a sweet and spicy pineapple recipe. Day 2, I opted for the tofu peanut lemongrass bowl. Mmmm, another tasty treat. Crispy tofu, crunchy cabbage, perfectly cooking rice, cilantro, lime, lemongrass and a touch of hot pepper! Topped with avocado and black sesame seeds. Came in with a group of 7 last weekend and we all loved our food, cocktails, and drinks. The seating situation is a little odd since you order first and then sit, so what if you order and then there's no seats? Fortunately we were able to snag 2 tables so we could all sit, but I wonder if everyone is always so lucky. My only complaint and the reason for the 4 stars was the host. Young girl, short with short hair was beyond overwhelmed with our group of 7 and we all placed orders separately. I told her that we didn't all need to be served at one time and we shouldn't all be under the same number since we were paying separately, but she insisted and then seemed super frustrated as each order came through and then in the middle of ordering she audibly gasped and said that she would need to stop taking orders so the kitchen could catch up. Totally understand that things need to be timed, but I don't know why you would stop taking orders in the middle of a group that you insisted I'll be put on the same number. She was miserable but the rest of the vibes were high and the food was bomb so we forgive them! read more

This is a sweet little spot for some nice beverages and bites. It is nice and bright, with a few booths and small tables that the staff happily shifted around to accommodate our group of 5. Several of us came after an early Pickford movie on a snowy day, and discovered the Tuesday all day Happy Hour. The cocktail of the day was an Ube gin sour-interesting and delicious sweet/sour flavor with beautiful color, and the HH price of $8 is a great deal for a well crafted original drink! There is also a good selection of wines by the glass and beers, and a mead offering as well. We shared the sweet potato fries, tostones (plantains) and shishito peppers each with their own dipping sauce so we could mix and match. We all agreed we would be returning to check out the more entrée style offerings and not just fried things. The location makes for easy access to the downtown area with easier parking that some spots. This would also make a great lunch or post-museum snack spot. Worth a visit! read more
