I pulled into one of the marked curbside pickup spots, cracked open the Target app on my iPhone, and let them know I was outside awaiting my order. There were only a few cash registers open and everything had very long lines. I saw managers and other walking around the checkout area, but no one was opening new registers. Absolutely ridiculous!

I waited twice for someone to assist with the spray paints twice for 20 minutes each and no one came on one particular visit. This has happened to me on other occasions as well. Haven't had this issue with other Michaels stores but I will never be returning to the Dulles Landing location.

The new Barnes & Nobles Booksellers bookstore finally opened this morning in Gainesville, VA. It's a large B&N - much larger than the new one in Manassas that opened last year. And it has a B&N Cafe - which the new Manassas location does not have. After wandering the store, I picked up a hardcover of "The Silmarillion," one that I had not seen before. It's essentially re-packaging the outside of the book - but I wanted another copy. The checkout line was a bit long - there are 4 cashier stations. Paid with Apple Pay. Then headed over to the cafe to caffeinate. They continue to feature Starbucks coffee. I ordered a Venti cold brew with Half n' Half - and a blueberry scone heated up - to enjoy in the Cafe. Also paid with Apple Pay. The store has free WiFi available. The ladies checking folks out we're carrying on some social conversations in Spanish, completely oblivious of the growing line of people waiting to check their items out. FINALLY, over ten minutes later, it's my turn to return my merchandise and I discover the receipt I thought I had with me wasn't. No problem, EVERY other merchant out there can just swipe the credit card you used and scan the merchandise to issue you a refund, like Target. Not The Children's Place, no receipt, only an even exchange NO RETURN. After standing in line that long and NOTHING gets accomplished, no apology, nothing. The lady had the audacity to lay into my husband with our 2 year old, very rudely about how shopping carts aren't allowed in the store. Fine, I get that. But why the attitude. I left pissed and disgusted with our treatment there. Seriously, don't waste your time. No one will greet you, they could care less about you.

During this visit, however, I was directed to the front instead. When I arrived at the front, the signage pointed toward Customer Service, so I waited there for a short while. I noticed several employees performing various tasks, including two at the registers. After waiting, I asked one of the cashiers for clarification. A female associate informed me that all Amazon returns now go through the main line. I mentioned that the signage was somewhat misleading, as it still indicated Customer Service, but her response was curt--she suggested I "take it up with Corporate" and explained they had several call-outs that day. While I understand staffing challenges can occur, I was taken aback by the tone and lack of professionalism in the response. I wanted to bring this to your attention so the situation could be reviewed, as it may reflect an opportunity for better communication and customer service training. Then he gives me information that I had to think and decipher that I had a balance on my card. yes, I know. I was on vacation out of the country for 10 days. Payment due in 8th. I have never, ever received a call from Kohl's! EVER! I do always pay in full within a week or 2. Nope this time I was late. I told him I thought it was a scam and he started to say You want to pay now? I say No. He raises his voice and insists several times, You pay bill! With that I hung up thinking, yes it was a scam. I git on the website & found yes I was late by 5 days! 5 days!!!! His amount was correct. So now, I paid and canceled my account! Kohl's you outsourced your company and the standards I used to purchase a whole lot of products through the years! Good bye- Good riddance!! There are still quality stores with quality clothes that the staff still cares and attends to the clientele. You may not care now but enough people will. If you want to wait in like from 20min to even an hour or more, make sure your schedule is freed up. 99% of the time there would be a single cashier, and when they ask/call for back up you can hear in the radios that someone is either on their 15 or break or wouldn't be up until 15 or more minutes later. They keep their radios at a decent to high volume and rely on taking via managers from the register, which causes a lot of back up issue. Especially when it comes to transaction refunds, exchanges, or any other problems. Then let alone too, most of the time too. You can tell when someone doesn't even want to be at work there. Talking about a baby daddy, or their own relationship problems, even worse as well 99% of the time on their phone and asking someone else to take the register... Most of the staff is too laid back, and are just showing up to get paid but never want to put in the work. Let alone, apparently they get a bunch of new items almost on the daily? This store is too small and way overwhelmed with items that you cannot even find something decent unless you move things around.. If I worked for a company like this, I know for a fact there would be problems due to how much is going on already. But yet I cannot understand just how a company will sit by an allow a store to look, sell, and act like this...
