We visited on a Saturday around 9:10 pm, which is a little less than 1 hour prior to closing. The store was completely dead. The menu screen was turned off, no music, nothing in the little fridge at the front desk area. It was as if the store was ready to be closed at any minute. I ordered the oolong with egg pudding and also a matcha tea by itself. There was no more boba for the day so that was a bummer. The drinks came out relatively fast since we were the only customers inside. Taste wise, the oolong tasted okay like how it's supposed to taste. However, the matcha didn't have any matcha flavor at all. It just tasted like green tea milk tea with green coloring. After we left, it looks like the only employee also shut down the store 30 min early as well. Not sure if that's a regular practice or not. read more

Very interesting concepts especially with the cute animal shaped to-go bottles for the drinks. The egg waffles menu also showed off various ways to play up the fun with flavor combos. If only they use the extra effort toward perfecting the basic recipes... I had the most basic: honey egg waffles. Not sure why honey was needed here when they could've used all eggs to make it eggy and fragrant! When I bit into my honey egg waffles, I knew the batter was overly wet as the waffle would stick to my teeth. Just not what your typical Hong Kong egg waffles should be. Shame. The drinks are the same way. My HK style milk tea was fine but nothing to write home about. It didn't have that wow factor where after the first one, you immediately wanted a second one because it's so strong and you don't even care if you can't sleep that night! Hubby's Oolong Tea Cheese Latte was plain weird. Well, he only had himself to blame for ordering it, but why put a subpar drink on the menu? First and last time at this location. Wanted a strawberry yogurt but they said they ran out so I decided on the most basic drink there is, jasmine milk tea. I saw how they made it too, it was literally all powdered and water mixed together. The drink tastes nothing like jasmine milk tea, no flavor and a funky after taste. Previously Happy Tea changed ownership to Trap Tea. My cheese latte was so good it was empty before I got to snap a photo. It's similar to a milk cap a salted cream on the top layer of your drink. They also do egg waffles here and the service was friendly and efficient. They had some tables to sit in but probably not good for large groups especially during pandemic. I am super disappointed I was super excited to try their food but we got there early ok we went to walk around a while and then we got there at 12:20 and the restaurant opened at 12:00 .We saw that the lights were on so we were going to go in and there was 1 person in the kitchen and the doors were closed .We asked the next door neighbor and they said that banned boba opens when ever they want it was super disappointing for me .The service was horrible that is all I can say I am super disappointed and I hope this helps them open when they say that they will open. The entire experience was poor. The strawberry milk tea was god awful. I usually don't complain or ask for a switch, but I otherwise would have just had to toss it. I asked to change out for almond and the cashier was visibly annoyed. At that point, I wish I had just asked for a refund. They walked away for an oddly long period of time and then came back with "so what did you need again?" I had to do a double take to be sure this was the same person I had just ordered from and spoke to 6 minutes earlier. Trying to keep my cool, I again explained that the strawberry drink tasted off and I'd like to try a new flavor. I will give this place 2 stars only because the gentleman working was very friendly and working so hard running the place by himself on a Friday. But the boba was absolutely terrible. They also didn't have any large straws for me and instead of being any help just said sorry... I had to ask for a cup and pour my drink into the $5 cup. I should have just gotten the $5 cup to begin with! I asked someone else about their experience and they said the large straw barley worked anyways, so it's not like that would have even fixed it. I very much enjoyed my experience at Trap Tea. I love a good coconut milk tea and they delivered. It was sweet; but I saw that you can order it with 75%, 50%, or 25% sweetness which is an awesome option. I would probably get it a touch less sweet in the future but to be honest I wasn't mad about how I ordered mine this time! It was a dessert for me afterall. Gotta get the bear at least one time and take a pic for the gram (instagram) was it worth it- probably not but I got my photo so who cares. I'm guessing not a lot of people get it; because the straw is not sized correctly from drinking out of the bear. Notice the picture of my holding it; you can't even see the straw. Makes getting boba with every sip very difficult. I would probably invest in some proper sized straws for these drinks. If someone is shelling out $15 for a plastic bear- the least you can do is serve them this fun option with a straw that fits. Just saying. Provably my main complaint here. Loved the boba, it was soft and delicious, just how I like it. I prefer a soft and fluffy boba and theirs was top notch. 5/15/23- I've tried this place a few times in the past. They used to have cute bear cups that you could get your drink in, but it didn't look like they offered that any more. For my grapefruit fruit tea they put ice in it even though I requested no ice. They give you the options to adjust things in your drink like the sugar level, but I'm not sure if they really do it when they make the drinks since I got ice when I requested none. The drinks still tasted good and the prices are a good value when compared to other boba places. This place was interesting! When you walk in they have a small lounge area with couches and tv playing anime. (Which I loved) The menu consisted of different boba tea's, slushees, and egg waffles! The egg waffles were absolutely delicious! I loved that you have the option of the fun containers for the teas! The staff members were nice and helpful and I enjoyed some of the artwork!
