Great place for brunch. When we came it was pretty busy. We waited 20 min before being seated but it was worth it. The place is small but they made the best use of what they had. Inside and outside seating is available. Service was great. Our waitress was rushing the whole time with all of her tables. The food: I had biscuits & gravy, and a Twisted Philly. Both were really good. I really enjoyed the spice in the Philly. My wife really liked her chicken fried steak. She nearly ate the whole thing. Well, after church of course always looking for a place to eat breakfast hubby and I and I actually used Yelp reviews to determine where we were going to eat and we ended up at Twisted Egg based on reviews and photos. The space is nice and quaint but the seats at the high top tables made for an uncomfortable sitting situation for me. My butt isn't big but it's not small but I kept sliding while seated as did my husband so he grabbed a yellow chair from the bar. We even had a conversation with the table next to us and they experienced the same thing! Anyway, I ordered the grilled chicken avocado sandwich and the house potatoes and a coke. Not bad, loved the house potatoes and a side of bacon cooked extra crispy. My hubby ordered pancakes, two patties (frozen) eggs and house potatoes too. He said they were ok but ate the food any way. The customer experience wasn't bad at all the waitress was quick and doing her best to get the food out hot and fresh. One thing would be great is to ask guests if it's their first time and share the favorites of the house and make recommendations. My suggestions to the owner, please replace the sliding chairs and if you need help getting some wooded high bar chairs, I can help. Would I try it again ? read more

I arrived to pick up my food 10 minutes before the restaurant closed and the manager was very happy that I arrived before the doors were locked. I ordered a half order of french toast. The bread must have been Texas toast because the cuts were delicious. I also ordered the BYO Skillet; Crispy Hash Browns, Breakfast Sausage Links, Over Medium Eggs, Mushroom, Bell Pepper, Onion, Tri-Blend Cheese, Sourdough toast and Hollandaise. That was so damn good but I did expect the to-go box for the order to be filled. There just didn't seem to be enough. We were searching for a new brunch spot and discovered Twisted Egg in Aurora. It's located on the first floor of a medical building/strip mall, making it easy to overlook while driving south on Parker Road near Cherry Creek State Park. We were pleased to have found it, as our breakfast was excellent. The Monster Smothered Burrito with eggs, sausage, potatoes, green chiles, onion, and cheese, was smothered in green chili and topped with roasted chile-lime crema, pico de gallo, and fresh cilantro. It was huge -- living up to it's name -- and it was delicious. Another star on the menu was the Corned Beef Hash. Unlike the "mushy" canned versions, Twisted Egg's is house-made with diced corned beef, green pepper, and potatoes cooked on the flat-top until the exterior is crisp. It was served alongside two perfectly cooked eggs allowing the egg yolks to run when broken creating a rich sauce for the crispy hash. The restaurant is bright and clean, but can be loud due to the concrete walls and open ceiling. Our server was friendly but not very attentive, never checking in on our meal or refilling our drinks at any point. On the other hand, Susie, the owner, along with her husband Doug, was delightful. They were successful restaurateurs in Las Vegas before making their vision for Twisted Egg a reality. We will be back. read more

I had driven by this place and have been on the search for more breakfast spots in the area so I added it to my list. We decided to try it today on a whim and even though it was packed at around 11:30 , we were able to get seating on the patio right away. We were even able to bring the dog and sit with him out back. Our server Angie was great, she gave us all her recommendations and mentioned all the top dishes. I started with a strawberry Matcha, it was absolutely perfect. Just the right ratio inside. To eat, we went with the brunch burger and steakhouse breakfast since that was what she recommended, but after finding out I wasn't able to change the temperature that the steak gets cooked (it gets premade at the beginning of the day) I shifted to the braised, short rib, grilled cheese. It was really good, the meat inside was cooked perfectly, and the cheeses were so flavorful and dynamic, perfectly melting, and I asked for a side of their chipotle aïoli, and it just complimented it perfectly. We decided to try the fruit compote French toast slice and the toppings were so good, not too sweet but the slice of challah itself was so thick that it was a bit undercooked, and felt more like warm bread than a crispy French toast. Angie was so sweet and instantly offered to remake or remove it when we let her know. It was our first time here, we stopped by for breakfast Saturday morning and were able to get a table without a wait. The menu is big with lots to choose from. I loved the variety on the menu with eclectic dishes and Mexican-inspired options. On my first visit, I ordered the chile relleno omelette because I've honestly never had a bad chile relleno -- until now. Half of the omelette didn't have any chile or relleno at all. The other half had off flavors and barely any cheese. I asked for the spiciest salsa they had and got a sad little drizzle with zero heat. Overall, it was very underwhelming and seriously lacking in flavor, comparable to the quality of Snooze AM Eatery. Based on the photos, I was expecting more flavor and culture, but that just wasn't there. My friend ordered the hangover bowl and loved it, so maybe sticking to more traditional American dishes is the safer move. I'd recommend avoiding anything with Mexican flair here - you'll likely be disappointed by the lack of flavor. I feel like I should give them another chance, but it's unfortunate when there isn't enough sauce or seasoning to do these dishes justice. read more

Always love to see a QR code checkout system so we can make a fast exit to start walking off our meals. Lots of parking! Entrance into plaza wasn't obvious. The just ok: I felt that my breakfast potatoes were under seasoned and mushy. The black high top seats were really small and uncomfortable. It was also on the warmer side inside and very loud near the kitchen. So it was a bit overstimulating. The concrete walls trapped all the echos of chatter almost to it being uncomfortable. There's a decent selection of items. No alcohol that I saw. I don't drink anymore so it's not an issue now, but would've definitely been one 4 months ago. For the price, the food wasn't as good as I expected, it was okay but not what I would expect at that price point. The entrance is sort of hidden and I suspect if it wasn't winter and cold people would be sitting outdoors as well. I was quickly greeted and seated. We came on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed. Even so, we were seated in just a couple minutes. The waitress was friendly and upbeat. The food lacked flavor and the hash browns were very dry. My double shot was tasty but served in a mug that must have just been in the refrigerator, which was so weird. We perused the menu over coffee, and The Hubs chose the Chilaquiles (2 eggs / tortilla chips soaked in roasted tomato or green salsa / refried beans / sour cream / pico de gallo). I opted for the Corned Beef Hash (2 eggs / house-made corned beef / home fries / bell pepper) with rye toast and a side of sliced tomatoes. Yummy! We both really enjoyed our breakfasts. I really appreciated that their corned beef hash is made with real, cubed corned beef (not the ground stuff that looks like it came out of a can). It was delish! Nice little place. Great service, our server was very good. The food was just OK. I got a "smothered" breakfast burrito. It was large and well stuffed but it was almost all potatoes with maybe one egg and a tbs of chorizo. As for smothered with green chili, it was barely there with about a Tbs of sauce not smothered. She came back about 10 mins later to take our order (did not bring waters or drinks so we reminded her at this time).
