I don't grasp their love of ketchup...is ketchup a popular French condiment? They put it on every plate. (Turned out that it was necessary to moisten the dry hash browns.) Two of us at our table had choking fits while we ate. My greatest complaint -- Cafe de France IS NOT ADA ACCESSIBLE! There is no ADA parking anywhere near this business. Their double doors are extremely heavy and the youngster serving as host just stood at his podium and watched me struggle to get my walker through those doors...and the place wasn't even busy yet. When I told him the name of the group I was joining, he just kept repeating, "How many in your party?" When I realized that he didn't speak English, I just proceeded to find my group on my own. Upon exiting the room where my group had gathered, I saw that the place was packed for lunch...so packed, that I couldn't maneuver my walker through the crowd to get to the door. A couple of patrons had to get up out of their chairs and move furniture to allow me to pass and they were annoyed by my audacity when I said, "Excuse me, please." The cherry on top...I had the trots for several hours last night. As that was my only meal yesterday, I am drawing my own conclusions on the origin of that.

Drink orders not only came out quick, but even soft drinks included a carafe for self-refills like the coffee. Sure, you could see this as "lazy" or something silly, but in a jam-packed restaurant it literally gave us all we needed for the meal without having to ask again. Food orders were taken patiently despite having two octogenarians in our party. Changes to orders were even patiently welcomed. Food came out quickly, hot, and accurately. It was well prepared and tasty to boot. As we were winding down our meal we noticed how much the crowd had thinned but that the waitstaff were still hustling about. That says a lot about who you hire to run your restaurant, total professionalism. It's nestled in the this great location not far from 1-25 and Belleview on Newport and you can even get there by taking lightrail and walking over a few blocks. So location is super convenient to get to. But my the real pleasure is in the food, always fantastic. I had the MOULES FRITES P.E.I blue mussels, shallot, white wine garlic broth, baguette, paprika-lemon aioli, and French fries; the broth is well sipping worth and wonderful with the toast.
