Such a cute little "hole in the wall " a cafe for a quick quiet breakfast before running some errands. We ate a crepe and a quiche, along with some pastries and coffee and chai tea! Every item was delicious and freshly prepared. Counter service to order and then we sat at a small table and they did bring us out items. Pastries were warmed, crepe cooked to order, quiche was fresh tasting as well. Only 4 stars as we did kind of get things out of order, maybe our fault? But we got the crepe and quiche first even before our drink service and the warmed pastry at the last. All good, just a few tables in and out to eat at, but it didn't feel like we were rushed. I'm so happy that this coffee shop is right around the corner from where I live! It really is a hidden gem, unassuming between other shops in a strip mall. I keep my coffee order pretty simple -- iced Americano. The coffee was balanced with just enough oompf. I also got a lemon bar, which was just tart enough, and a scone, which was a tad dry but with good flavor. Service was literally with a smile. A hidden gem tucked into a strip mall off Alameda. We stopped in for Americanos, a lemon bar, and a blueberry scone - and everything was very good. The coffee was smooth and balanced, with just a hint of floral notes that made it stand out. The lemon bar struck the perfect balance of tart and sweet, and the scone was moist, buttery, and full of real blueberry flavor. A great little spot for a casual but quality coffee break. Oh man, I love this place. Yet another discovery when driving to see my son at Children's Hospital. My son is, without a doubt, a tough critic when it comes to crepes. He has had them from many places - some, he goes back to, others, he can't even finish the first order. Too dry, flavor balance is off, too soggy and it's over. Cafe Ciboulette's crepes are so delicious I've been there at least five times. The quiches they have ready to eat are also scrumptious. The place is unassuming - in a strip mall on Alameda, not tons of decor inside. But boy, if you overlook Ciboulette because of those things, you are missing out. I also ordered Belgian waffles for my son one time, and he devoured those too! Beware - if you go on a weekend, there may be a long wait. I was told 45 minutes one Saturday because of all the orders put in. That is why I always carry a book! Oh, and everyone behind the counter, including (I suspect) the owner, are so kind! read more

I stopped to get coffee 20 minutes before they closed(didn't know they closed this early) and as soon as I walk in I say hi to the man at the cashier and 1st thing he says "All food is done, don't you know what time we close?!" In a rude way, mind you this is my first impression of this place and I said oh that's okay I just wanted coffee and he proceeds to look around kind of angry and I just said you know what, it's fine don't worry about it and walked out. I was so excited to try this place and it really was a coffee I needed. After this experience definitely won't be back. I was in a cafe mood, and this was one of the places that was high on the search list on Yelp so I wanted to give it a try. I was a bit hesitant when I walked in because they were not super busy and they didn't have that many customers in the store (I complain when there is too many people and there are long lines so this should've been a win). A new friend and I decided to meet here. We looked over the menu and I decided on the Nutella Chocolate Belgian Waffle and an Iced Matcha Latte only I jazzed it up quite a bit. I was disappointed the Belgian waffle didn't have sugar pearls in it, but I'm not sure if all Belgian Waffles come like that or only some. Either way it was only like a 2/5 for me, the waffle just didn't excite me and could've been a little more heavy handed on the Nutella side. The Iced Matcha Latte, however, was quite magical. This was the first place outside of Starbucks and Dunkin, that had good matcha. I appreciated the guy that took our order letting me know ahead of time their matcha was NOT pre-sweetened. I got it made with an extra shot of espresso, agave sweetener, cinnamon syrup, and salted caramel syrup. DE-LICIOUS! I wouldn't come back for the Belgian waffles but if i happen to be in the area I would definitely stop by for that matcha! read more

Your mission should you choose to accept it is . . . to find the best quiche in Denver and then tell the universe all about it. OK Captain. I volunteer. (Although I'm suspecting that all I'll get for the effort is the chance to eat a bunch of . . . you guessed it . . . quiche). I'm now into the double digits of quiche stops and today I hit a winner. Café Ciboulette is in a shop-ette along East Alameda next door to Heather Gardens. As you can see from the pics the place is unassuming at best--housed right between Mr. Arcade and Mambo hair salon. (Hmmm. Now there's an idea for a fun day: quiche, a new doo, and then some gaming for a couple of hours). And while the setting is mundane the food well that's something else all together. If you know about Denver quiche the best description I can give you is to say that its a bit better than Detour Bakery's quiche, but much more enjoyable since they microwave it only for a very brief time to take the chill off and then put it in a toaster oven for 5-10 minutes to finish it off.(Detour reheats their entirely by m/w). Café C's technique is the same as used by La Fillette on 8th Ave. and it works. The crust doesn't become mushy--as it does at Detour--and the quiche gets brought to proper temperature without burning the top or crust edges. Another nice thing about Ciboulette, they have several different varieties quiche available at any one time. Me? I'm generally keeping my comparisons scientific by using a Quiche Lorraine control test group but as soon as I'm done with this taste testing exercise I'm gonna move on to try out some of the more unusual recipes. In the meantime from what I can tell I've only got a few more spots to try out within my chosen geographical quiche area. So stick with me while I go quiche-ing. Recently we purchased a new super car, leading to all kinds of excuses to drive it. Such was the case this morning, we drove across town to try out what the rave was about. Even the owner was impressed with our lengthy journey to have a crepe, when the topic came up when we stroked a friendly conversation. Also, it's been a long time since I indulged in a decent French crepe. Immediately, this placed impressed me, with the friendly service, comforting ambiance and cleanliness. The interior is simple and very cafe oriented. Choose your favorite from the wall menu, order, pay and sit at a table and wait for the goodness to be delivered. I struggled a bit with my choices, as many items caught my attention. We decided to order a savory crepe, Ham, Egg, Spinach and Cheese and two sweet ones, Banana Chocolate and Blueberry Lemon Curd (most popular crepe). It was heaven for me, the crepes were light and fluffy with tasty stuffing. I really enjoyed the Blueberry one, fresh berries and curd was a perfect combination, not surprised it's the most popular. On our first morning in Denver, my friend and I waned something delicious and unique to try out for breakfast. True to form, I turned to Yelp, checking out which places were near our Airbnb and had great reviews. Café Ciboulette was the second one we stumbled upon, and instantly sounded appealing, so we set the GPS to its address and made our way over. Located in an unassuming strip mall, once you step through the threshold, you're instantly welcomed by the warm hospitality that other reviews have raved about. I couldn't decide between two savory crepes for breakfast, and when I asked the owner for his favorite, he gave me a great suggestion for the ham and cheese with an egg. Done and done! Crepes are cooked fresh on their crepe griddle, so it may take a second to get your meal, but it's worth the wait. While we waited, we sat at a small cafe table and dipped some coffee. Soothing music with French lyrics or a Parisian flair played in the background, and the owner welcomed some other diners who were clearly regulars. My crepe came after a short wait and the verdict is a definite 5 stars. Cooked perfectly with a golden and slight crisp to it, the game and cheese went perfectly with the scrambled egg and chives (the namesake, as "ciboulette" means "chive" in French). Even my friend agreed, these are the best crepes he has had this side of the Atlantic -- and as a born and raised Français, he knows a thing or two about a good crepe. Literally just went for brunch this morning (tried to be spontaneous because I was craving a crepe), and YES they are open for DINE-IN. I appreciated the local vibes and it wasn't very busy, even for a Saturday morning. My friend and I ordered three dishes off the menu and shared: strawberry & chocolate crepe, vegetarian crepe with egg, and the smoked salmon quiche. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the prices were fair. I got an almond caramel iced latte on the side, and took an almond croissant to go. I stopped by Café Ciboulette to mix up my usually savory lunch routine and try some delish crepes! I ordered the chocolate hazelnut crepe and a hot vanilla latte. Holy sweet tooth! The crepe was far sweeter than I anticipated. Most likely because I am just not used to sweeter options. But it was so very good! My vanilla latte was perfect and I love that they use Novo Coffee. Yay local roasters! The gentleman working during my visit was incredibly friendly and we carried on a great conversation as he worked. Café Ciboulette was a great place to mix up my routine. I also added a Pesto, Tomato, Spinach & Mozzarella panini to have later on for lunch. First, let me just say they delivery was SUPER fast! Either the guy was riding on 2 wheels the entire time, or he teleported, lol. Whichever it was, the delivery was absolute spot on! Now, to the food. The crepes were amazingly delicious! Both fresh, extremely tasty, huge, and very filling. Some of the best crepes I've had! The panini was equally as good, but a little soggy by the time I got to it (through no fault of Café Ciboulette, of course!), but was still delicious. This locally owned café is an excellent addition to the food variety that we have in Aurora. It's quite distinct by offering a flavor that has hints of both French and Arabic influence. This was evident as I bit into my fresh turkey crepe and sipped my dark Arabica roast. An absolutely amazing way to kick start a long day. The staff here is extremely inviting and helpful. They give suggestions based on your preference for sweet or savory, and they'll take their time to make sure your meal is above expectation. A young woman usually works in the morning and early afternoons, and she seems to enjoy herself every time I'm there. It's a pleasant change from the overworked baristas you see at certain chains...
