Classic Banh mi
Phong T.

My partner and I were headed north and decided to check out a Banh mi place for lunch in Gwinnett since it was on the way. $5.65 for a Banh mi? You can't beat that price! You can choose from a variety of proteins for your Banh mi. They offer fresh sugar cane and kumquat juice. The service is friendly and efficient. Many customers place to-go and pickup orders, often over 20 Banh mi at a time. We ordered two Banh mi--one special and one grilled pork--and received them within 5 minutes. The baguette was fresh, soft, and crispy. The toppings and proteins were all delicious. The grilled pork had a fragrant, slightly spicy flavor, which we didn't mind. Will definitely share with local family and friends and return again!

Call me weird. I will order ALL my Banh Mi's with veggies separate. I'd rather add in all the stuff needed, myself. Sometimes they're heavy handed with that stuff, other times they just don't give you enough! I love the carrots & daikon! Load them up! So, get them separated, you'll have more to enjoy vs ordering the Banh mi's as is. The strawberry tea was perfect. The Banh Mi's were amazing. Banh Mi Thit & Cha Lua, make sure you ask for extra pate. It's just a MUST!

Classic banh mi, sugarcane juice

Was staying in a hotel in Duluth and wanted a quick fast-casual lunch. I looked on Yelp and decided on this little banh mi shop in a strip mall full of Asian shops. I just got a classic banh mi and at first thought it was a little small, but it ended up being fine. They use the correct bread for banh mi and not just presliced baguettes. Best of all, I had sugar cane juice, which I don't see a lot where I'm from. Delicious, inexpensive meal, and it looks like a popular spot.

My personal favorite: Grilled pork, the classic, opla (egg) and Pork Roll. They even have legit authentic vegetarian bánh mì too. You need to try it! Love their Vietnamese Iced Coffee, you'll definitely be wide-awake. I been searching for the best sugarcane juice, this place definitely got it down. People are always asking me this question, and trust me--your girl has been searching high and low for the best authentic and affordable bánh mì in Georgia. This spot is highly recommended and loved by the Vietnamese community here (they honestly gatekeep it a little too well ). The bánh mì is perfect--crispy, airy baguette with that golden crunch, packed with flavorful meats, fresh pickled veggies, cilantro, and a kick of chili and pâté. If you're after the real deal, this is the place to go. And don't miss their coffee and sugarcane juice--they're on another level!

Finding a great Banh Mi place that's not on Buford Highway is tough. Luckly Banh Mi 135 opened on Pleasant Hill and it's awesome. I liked it because they offer the buy 5 get 1 free, but also the pricing of it is great and affordable. It's not like $8-$10 banh mi's (which I probably won't ever buy) but $5 which I mean you really can't complain. This place gets pretty busy, you can always call and order ahead of time and just come by and pick it up. Or you could just come and order there. The banh mi's itself aren't super stand out. I would say they're normal banh mi's, packed with flavor and has a decent amount of meat. You really don't lose out coming here to get your banh mi's. If you don't like it, you're only out of $5, but my bet is that you'll love it here and will come back especially if you're near this location. Overall, I would highly recommend if you're looking for banh mi's and don't know where to go and you're too lazy to go all the way down buford highway to come here and check it out.

This is my parents' go-to place for banh mi, and it's easy to see why. Like most banh mi shops in the area, they offer the buy 5, get 1 free deal. But what sets this place apart for my parents is the bread (and the convenient location). They also sell sugar cane drinks, which are refreshing, especially on hot days. If you're in the area and craving a good banh mi, this spot is worth checking out.

Strange as it may sound, they had the most beautiful looking banh mi bread - it had a nice sheen and shape that made it look more sophisticated than other banh mi bread. Of course most importantly, their sandwiches taste good too - and the price is right! The staff are very nice and there was a busy assembly line of them! The place is pretty small - I'd say majority customers were taking their sandwiches to-go. They serve not only banh mi sandwiches but also sugarcane drinks and boba tea. Hats off to Yelpers for steering me here - they have great reviews! GRILLED PORK BANH MI - $5.65 They had several different kinds - I opted for grilled pork. Pork was tasty - just a few were on the fatty side but mostly all good. Veggies were very fresh and yummy (pickled carrots & radish, jalapenos, cilantro). The most magic is the bread and it did not disappoint. Overall great sandwich! I'll be back for sure - next time I'd like to try the shredded chicken banh mi. They're located in the City Farmers supermarket plaza. I recommend stopping by Wowbooza nearby for dessert!

Love that it's ran by Vietnamese and the ambiance feels and tastes like home. The sugarcane drink is amazing and refreshing. The bani mi is not too crispy and all the toppings taste fresh. Service was great and it's super affordable. We bought the buy 5 get a free one deal. 10/10

Hidden gem! The best Banh Mi we have had in OTP area. Unbeatable prices. The Banh mi are made to order. They taste fresh and amazing. The bread is perfect! For togo order you have the option to pack toppings separately. They also have fresh sugarcane juice. Limited seating inside, nothing fancy. But great place to pickup food/quick lunch grab. Highly recommend to go check them out.

Always busy. Buy 5 get 1 free! Best bread ever! Super crispy, light, and soft. Staff is very nice and attentive. They have fresh ingredients and delicious quality. I always order the combo but the bbq/grilled pork is also very delicious! Also their sugar cane juice is amazing. Order with veggies on the side if you are not eating right away to keep everything fresh and not soggy!

Currently one of our go to banh mi spots. Definitely always take advantage of the sale promo, buy 5 get 1 free. Combination and grilled pork are our favorites here. With my current limited diet I had to opt for the vegetarian and it didn't disappoint. The beef slices in the sandwich does have that artificial fake meat aftertaste but it was expected. After my second time ordering it I think I'm just going to ask them to not add that in the next time. LOL Other than that, staff is super friendly and patient. Bread is so fresh. Toasty on the outside and soft on the inside. Walking in to the smell of fresh bread itself is a treat!

Banh Mi Dac Biet / The Classic

They're always busy, but for $5.65 a banh mi, it's worth getting! Especially if you're buying for more than yourself. They have a buy five, get one free deal, so it would then be ~$5/banh mi after everything. I ordered the classic (banh mi dac biet) and grilled pork (banh mi thit nuong), my go-tos, to go. I got the cucumbers, pickled carrots, cilantro, and jalapeno on the side to put in myself, and... the classic was refreshingly light. A little heavy on the mayo on some parts of the sandwich because it wasn't evenly spread but delicious. The grilled pork was good as well! Its got a sweetness to it that worked well enough with the pickled carrots, which could've been sourer. Not as good as the classic imo. Usually I get both because I like both too much to make a single choice, but the classic was clearly the better option from here. It's cute they have a sleeve for their sandwiches tho.

Emily Y.

This is my go-to place for banh mi! They offer a good deal if you buy several sandwiches (buy _ get 1 free). I typically order the classic (dac biet) and this time I tried the grilled pork (thit noon) as well. I absolutely love the bread from this place, I think it makes the sandwich. I also asked for extra cilantro and carrot/radish, which they provided at no extra cost. The sandwiches came out pretty quickly and I was on my way. Would definitely recommend!!

I want to be upfront with this review and call out my experience honestly…read more Personally, I'm sensitive to heavy MSG usage. When I eat at many Japanese or Korean soup restaurants that don't rely heavily on MSG, I rarely get headaches afterward. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. I ordered the bún bò Huế, a spicy and rich Vietnamese noodle soup originating from the central city of Huế. Traditionally, it features a bold, savory broth flavored with lemongrass, shrimp paste, and chili oil, served with thick rice vermicelli noodles, sliced beef, pork (often shank or knuckle), and fresh herbs with crunchy vegetables like banana blossom or cabbage. The portion was generous and visually accurate to the dish, but the broth felt extremely heavy and overpowering for me, and I left with a noticeable headache--something that doesn't usually happen to me at similar soup-focused restaurants. As a side note, the restaurant had a health inspection score of 81 (low B) the last time I checked, which is fairly in line with many older, high-volume ethnic restaurants, but still worth mentioning for transparency. The location is also something to be aware of. It's in a busy parking lot with a lot of reckless driving activity, so be careful when walking--this isn't the kind of place where you can casually stroll through the lot like you might at Whole Foods or Publix. You definitely need to watch left and right. The surrounding businesses include an American Deli and a pizza buffet, which gives you an idea of the overall environment. Overall, Pho Dai Lo serves authentic, bold-flavored Vietnamese dishes, and fans of strong, intense broths may enjoy it. However, if you're sensitive to very rich seasoning or additives, your experience may vary. Im Asian btw I know msg is used in a lot of viet and Chinese dishes and maybe the reasons why I enjoyed this dish. But I do have regret after coming out. It's not cheap either for two person with tip roughly $20 pp. u can get all you can eat buffet or even the Gohan seafood buffet if you think about it.

I think their dishes although prepared authentically are underwhelming in terms of the depths in flavor and really the soul of Vietnamese food. I'm not an expert but I've eaten my fair share of Vietnamese food for a standard issue white girl. The pork patty was dry and likely made at the beginning of the week and just reheated as the week went on. It was pretty bland and had this rubbery overly bouncy consistency and literally snapped when I bit into it. It basically got lost amongst all the fresh herbs too. As you can tell from the photo the Bánh bột chiên was burnt and it ended up being burnt on both sides. The squares were cut too thick...and because they were cut too thick they were on the mushy side even after being overly pan fried. All of the veg was fresh and well cleaned, the rice noodles were not overly sticky and clumped together. The pickled carrot/daikon were tasty. The server I had was attentive and polite. The interior was as to be expected and I couldn't care less that it's a little rough around the edges. If the tile isn't cracked, if the booth's vinyl isn't taped up, the utensils aren't mismatched and the tables aren't wobbly then I don't trust the place!! Like I said-I don't dislike it here. I just don't see the hype. Then again I feel like I have to piece together my favorite dishes from several spots between Doraville/Chamblee and Duluth, so maybe it's because I haven't found one place that checks all the boxes and I can get all my favs from one place. I will come again...because I love Bánh hỏi.

It's huge inside and always busy, but somehow we've never had to wait which is amazing when hunger strikes fast! The prices are a breath of fresh air too. My family and I (brothers, children,…read morenieces, nephews, in-laws) dine in regularly, and I always leave a generous tip--often $25+--because the food has consistently been good and the staff has usually been great. Unfortunately, tonight was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. We arrived almost two hours before closing, and the restaurant was not busy. Despite that, our food came out very late, with half of it being served when we were already preparing to leave. It was also my husband's birthday, and since we run a business ourselves, it's hard for us to plan outings--so this was meant to be a simple, enjoyable dinner. I ordered a chocolate cake, which arrived completely frozen. I let it sit for 15-20 minutes, and it was still rock solid, so I had to send it back. On top of that, as we were leaving, we were still waiting on spring rolls and a chicken baguette. It also took a long time just to get the check so we could leave. The most upsetting part: As we were walking out, an older gentleman and our usual server stopped us and asked for a tip. My husband explained that we weren't leaving a tip because the service was poor and extremely slow--specifically mentioning that the younger server never came to our table until around 2:05 AM. Instead of handling this professionally, the server became angry, started kicking us out, and even called us "cheap." We have never been confronted like this before. Business owner to business owner, I would NEVER speak to a customer this way. If service isn't up to standard, getting upset at customers for not tipping is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. The food is still good, and I've always recommended this place to others--but treating loyal customers this way is ridiculous and avoidable. Did they lose a customer? Yes. Will I miss coming here? Yes. Could this have been handled better? Absolutely.
