I've gone to this place many times normally just get the chicken fried rice spicy with Thai tea cream cheese, wonton. That is my normal order. However, I've stopped eating meat so I noticed that they have a crab fried rice so I called and order crab fried rice spicy, no onion add bean sprouts. I confirmed what my order was multiple times, I get there to pick it up. I confirmed yet again spicy crab fried rice with bean sprouts. I get home open up my food and it's not spicy has no flavor at all and no bean sprouts. When I called about it, they offered to bring me bean sprouts. It doesn't change the fact that my rice is not spicy and it has no flavor, I'm very disappointed because normally their food is spot on. read more

This is small family-owned hole in the wall located in a very small shopping center. Owned and run by a Thai family, their food is authentic and boasts all the wonderful flavors of tradition Thai cuisine. The parking lot up front is tiny with only about 10 available spots. Don't let this deter you, as there's plenty of parking in the back. This is pretty much the only con for this restaurant. What lacks in initial pizzazz on the outside is made up by what you really came for- their delicious and authentic food (very reasonably priced with large portions). Most restaurant apps deliver for BC because it's pretty popular around here! For what it is, I give it a solid 4.5. FAVORITES: PAD SEE EW: Flat glass rice noodles (comparable to a thfettuccine) with chicken, eggs and broccoli, all stir-fried with a subtle black bean soy sauce. I always add a tad bit of red pepper flakes to add a little kick to the dish. I love how the noodles slither and slip throughout your mouth and on the tongue. They give you hearty portions so it's plenty for two or lunch the following day for one. TOM KHA GAI: This fragrant soup is made of a potpourri of spices and herbs, including cilantro, lemon grass, lime, ginger, and a bit of chili oil in a coconut chicken broth. Ingredients include chicken, mushrooms, and coconut broth, which gives it a silky consistency, much like almond milk. I always add some red pepper flakes into the broth until it turns an orange color. This kicks up all the flavors up a notch, in my honest opinion. To balance out all the sweet and tangy flavors, I also order a side of jasmine rice, which makes this soup a filling meal. They give you a huge bowl, so this can also be split between two people, or provides enough leftovers for a meal the following day for one. read more

We sat in the corner with a tiny little table and ordered a few items. How all our food fit on our table was beyond me, but I'll tell you there was absolutely no room for your elbows! We ordered the Tom Khai Soup, Green Curry, Orange Chicken, and Egg Rolls. Tom Khai Soup 3/5 - decent flavor, a little plain for my liking and could definitely use a little bit more heat & spice Green Curry 5/5 - loved it, it was delicious! Orange Chicken 2/5 - No flavor and not enough sauce, my friend said it was really bland Egg rolls 3/5 - standard fried egg rolls Pretty decent overall, the service was good and the food came out pretty quick. It's very small, not a fancy place, and seems lowkey; there was only another group at the restaurant when my party came in at 2:30pm on a Thursday. Our waiter was very polite and did keep checking up on us and refilling our waters. What really appealed to me and party was the overall prices on the menu - they're very affordable! We were even more happy when we saw the lunch special menu. We all ended up getting yellow curry with a choice of protein. The Yellow Curry with Tofu that I ordered was really delicious! In all honesty, yellow curry is always a very safe dish to go with, but their yellow curry was definitely memorable in flavor (it tasted very buttery!! yum!!) and the portion for the $7 special was perfect. My friend got the chicken option and said it was slightly dry, but worked okay with the curry. If I'm ever craving some cheap Thai food locally, this is my new go-to spot! I wouldn't recommend this place.. We ordered the spicy basil noodles with chicken and pineapple fried rice and both were disappointing. The noodles were bland and the veggies in the dish wasn't cooked. It was like eating raw veggies. The chicken in both the noodles and rice dish were dry. The pineapple fried rice was also a little bland but better than the noodles. I wouldn't recommend getting any of those dishes though. The chicken was extremely dry and hard to eat, but the soup was authentically flavored and had good heat. If you try the soup, don't go for the chicken. Maybe if I went for shrimp, I would enjoy it a bit more. The noodle portion was also quite small. Overall, thought it was just ok. Not that experienced with the area, but the Thai cuisine at this establishment went above and beyond my expectation. At first glance the outside area is generally small as it is surrounded by other tenants therefore resulting in the small space of parking places. But with residential parking not too far away, you'll be able to manage a spot. The family and I were looking for a good place to eat before our flight back to the bay area, and with parents who enjoy eating typical asian food this place was the ideal candidate. Looking at the menu it was easy to follow as it also explained what the meal was. The wide variety was also captivating but not so much where you have so much to choose from that you can't decide. What I ended up ordering was the Bangkok Sidewalk, and I'm not a person that enjoys spicy food so this was a surprise to me. The heat was packing and was beautifully displayed with rice on the side with an egg on top. I have been trying to increase my spice tolerance and I can say that this will definitely make you want to order another to go. The love of the flavor, but the hate of the spice. Not to mention the pricing was on point, a nice and simple meal with simple pricing. With a restaurant like this, i'm not surprised if this is a go to for college students in the area. Honestly I expected a little more for the cost. The food isn't bad, but it's not spectacular either. The silver noodle dish is mediocre. The noodles are seasoned and cooked well but the vegetables are a little lacking. I think the salt and pepper topping was a poor choice. The shrimp dish is too salty and not spicy enough, vegetables are undercooked and shrimp is overcooked. A very confusing dish and definitely not worth $12. One of my favourite thai places near Irvine!! Flavours are always great and the staff are super welcoming and quick. My bf and I really enjoy the pad sew, bangkok side walk, and recently we tried the crab fried rice. All the dishes were super tasty, and we had a little bit of leftovers for the next day! One of the most challenging parts is parking, theres a very small parking lot so you might need to park on the street. It doesn't seem to be super busy, so we've never had to wait for a table. My guess is that a lot of people come to pick up since it's near a neighborhood. Definitely recommend!! read more

I ordered the basil noodles (delicious, very basily, and not over-sauced like some Thai noodle dishes can be), the green curry with fried tofu (they didn't skimp on tofu and veg), Tom kha soup (a little disappointing, it was mostly just lemongrass in broth), and fresh shrimp spring rolls (ok, the sauce was tangy and thin rather than sweet and thick, which isn't my favorite). While not bustling with hospitality and conversation, the food is, mostly, on point, and for a restaurant, that is all that counts for me. I have visited Bangkok Corner three times since I have moved to Costa Mesa, mostly because the location is within walking distance of my house, and I have not once been let down. The curry, whether panang, green, or yellow, I find to be almost perfect for the price! The beef is decent, not too chewy. I advise not to ask for extra vegetables, unless you want a cup of cabbage, and I advise caution when asking for high spice, you and your colon may regret it immediately... My only complaint would be that the white rice is a bit dry to my taste, but I do not come here for rice. The iced tea, on the other hand, is waiting to hit your tongue's g-spot.
