Still love it! I've made my way through all of the appetizers. Stick with the spring rolls and Lau sausage. Both are great. I'm not sure what goes into Lau sausage, but it is amazing. Curry. Nom nom nom, curry. Bumped the spice level up to 4. Great decision. The only item that I'm not a fan of are the the chicken wings, but they were ordered out of curiosity. So as an Asian food lover (in all shapes and countries of the continent) I love Thai food. I was really excited to see that Ban Moon is so close, so dangerously close to work. Though I frequent the take out, at that being about once a week if not more. I've also gotten a chance to dine in, the food comes out fast and the service was pretty on point. I prefer to stay pretty authentic to the Thai cuisine and frequent items like the Pad Mee, Pad See Ew, and Pad Thai but I've had some of their other entrees. Out of all of the trips in, I was only disappointed by their lo mein, decided to try something I hadn't had there and I wish I hadn't. It's made too greasy for my taste and the spaghetti noodles were a little strange. Honestly the rest of their noodle dishes wee excellent. But I will not be getting the lo mein again. I do enjoy their egg rolls and the spring rolls. They are both very good. Service is good as well and they have a military discount so that's always nice. I got takeout pad thai once and it was absolutely amazing and then the next time when i dined it it was just ok. But if you have an asian craving this place will satisfy it for you. I grew up in San Angelo, we had nothing like this here. I then moved to DFW and am so proud you are here and serving fantastic Panang Curry. It is one of my favorite dishes ever, and this is from someone that only liked beef, chicken and Mexican food when I left San Angelo. The absolute only complaint I have!!!!!! I got 2 orders of Panang Beef tonight. I ordered spicy levels 1 and 5. 1 for the wife. The containers were marked which is great. My heat 5 was the same as my wife's 1. It wasn't spicy at all to me. One of my favorite things about this place is that they make (all?) their fried rice dairy-free! I usually get the pineapple fried rice but the spring rolls with the peanut dipping sauce are also delicious! The servers and staff here are very understanding about food allergies when stated ahead of time and seem to take them very seriously - I appreciate that! Also, the staff always seems very courteous and nice and I think they do a great job at keeping up with you, without seeming too intrusive. Tried the chicken/shrimp pad tai......not impressed & wont repeat.....not much chicken & only 3 shrimp with tails left on meaning they weren't properly cleaned! Egg rolls were decent, but no hot mustard at this place?.....guessing hot mustard is a Chinese thing? Pad tai was on the dry side.....noodles stuck together, not a lot of flavor. This is a cute little place with proper Thai dishes. Maybe San Angelo's first. I've had several dishes and almost all the appetizers. You need to eat there fairly early because they make the apps fresh daily and they have a tendency of running out. Masaman Chicken, chicken satay, the soups, all have been with the trip and I suggest them. The pad Thai is not bad either. Try it and you'll be glad you did. The best Asian food in San Angelo. I've been twice and was pleasantly surprised each time. I got Drunken Noodles for lunch at my first visit. Really good blend of spice and flavor. Noodles weren't mushy. Waitress was very nice, friendly and attentive to our needs. 2nd visit was getting their brisket phó to go. I've tried several places for this Vietnamese soup around town and this was BY FAR the best. I got a fairly generous portion of broth with the rice noodles, beef, and garnish in a separate container. By the time I drive home, the broth was still very hot and I was able to blend all the ingredients and eat right away. It was VERY good. I wish there were more veggies, but it was still awesome. read more

I'm not very impressed with this place. I came here during an expected "snow storm", there was nothing sticking on the floor. Anyways, place was empty. The brisket pho I ordered was bland. The broth was nothing more than hot water with maybe two seasonings. First of all I want to say is that I am very thankful for an authentic Asian restaurant in the San Angelo area. My family and I have been searching for new Asian dishes that aren't the usual bland fried rice and noodles. So we gave Ban Moon a try and we were extremely pleased with the layers of flavors and low prices. There are a few pros and cons of our experience. PROS: The food was hot and fresh. First we ordered appetizers which were crab rangoons and fresh spring rolls. The crab rangoons were a nice crispy outside with a soft delicious creamy inside. The fresh spring rolls were rolled nicely, but lacking extra filling. I felt like I had more lettuce than anything else. Besides that, the light spicy Thai dipping sauce was a great addition to the appetizers. CONS: As we walked in the wait staff was gathered around the cash register talking to each other and didn't welcome us as we would have liked. The inside decor needed a little bit more life into it. It was really nice and clean, just needed more character. Maybe live plants would have spruced it up a bit. As we were sat down things did start to get better with our knowledgeable waitress. After we had ordered our entrees we received our appetizers 5 mins after, but once we got our appetizers immediately we received our main dishes which didn't give us enough time to enjoy our delicious appetizers. Staff needs to work on timing a little bit. PROS: I ordered the Thai-Lao Fried rice with pork and I can say it may be the BEST fried rice I have had in a LONG time. I have been waiting for a full flavored fried rice to come into my life. It was a very large portion for $8. I was able to eat half and take the rest back home. My husband order the Massaman Curry with fried rice and his own descriptive words explaining the dish were "The layers of flavors made me feel like a warm comfy blanket was covering my body" I was like WOW haha. He felt like the curry was a great Asian comfort food. He also had enough left over to take home. CONS: I understand the Thai tea is a hit and it was delicious at first but then after a few sips and stirring it up a bit it became really sweet. Almost too sweet to drink with our meal. I know it would be phenomenal to people who love sweet drinks, but as for us it was just too sweet. PROS: Our bill was $40 to feed a family of 3 which in my eyes is a great price because we pretty much got two meals out of each dish. I would highly recommend giving this new restaurant a try because the dishes are full of flavor and finesse. The kitchen staff is definitely on point. We will be coming back here over and over again.
