Literally save your money and go elsewhere. I am highly disappointed in my experience at Bamford, which is inside the 1 hotel. So already I'm setting my expectations...bad idea. First off, when booking the massage, the coordinator should have relayed that the steam room was broken, and that there were no amenities to be enjoyed at the spa aside from the quiet room and the locker room, which featured two small showers. At this price point, I am expecting a dry sauna steam room and other simple amenities spas of this price point offer! Now to the massage, the dreaded massage. I booked a 80 minute massage Title De-stress because I knew my body needed more than 50 minutes and the Title de-stress sounded exactly like what I needed! I chose the male Therapist thinking that I would feel a deeper pressure. My male massage therapist arms were shaved freshly. I'm assuming because they were so prickly it almost cut me as he massaged my body with hisforearm. After my massage, my whole body was red from his shaved arms. Also, the pressure was nonexistent instead it felt like someone was just rubbing oil on my body. My last complaint is I left feeling robbed, but not wanting to put up to much hassle. I called back and asked for a manager to call me back, that was on Monday 9/30 and to this day no call, email, or response which is why I'm leaving this review. If you are looking for a relaxing spa treatment or experience that is WORTH the money, I would go elsewhere. read more

The Bamford Spa is beautiful and has great service. The spa itself is so serene and you just feel more at ease when you're there in the waiting areas. I went in for a facial and I got the cleansing facial. I cannot remember my esthetician's name, but she was lovely and very knowledgeable. The ladies at the front desk/little store were also very kind. The only reason I did not give five stars is that the services are very pricey and I feel like you can get the same quality of treatment at other spas that either have more amenities or have lower prices for the treatment. That being said, I did fully enjoy my day there and if you have the money to spare, why not? I believe what is included with your spa treatment is a beach chair, which we unfortunately didn't around to use, but we did have lunch At their outdoor beachside restaurant and also some drinks at the indoor bar by the lobby. The 1 Hotel is very nice so it is nice to make a day out of it. I couldnt get any good pics inside the spa as the lighting is dim, but i will put up a couple of the property in general that you get to enjoy with your spa stay. read more

The resting area is noisy since people are talking and awkwardly set up so you end up staring at people sitting right across from you. The deep tissue massage was good. The facial was just okay, but the real disappointment was that the aestatison added 2 services without telling me that there are additional costs that added $100 to my facial which is scammy so beware. When they told the manager she seemed unphased. I would skip the big pricetag here since there are plenty of other spas with the same services that are cheaper and not scammy. read more

This spa is located in the 1 Hotel, with free validation on valet. It's on the second floor down a long corridor of rooms, at the end where you see the gym and a boutique. Check in at the boutique and someone will escort you pass the door to the spa. I really like the decoration of the spa, in white washed and light wood that exude tranquility and nature. In the center there is a relaxation area, separated by white "tree trunks", with refreshment of tea, infused water and snacks. In the changing room, I tried to put away my tote-sized handbag, and it didn't fit in! I didn't bring a diaper bag or backpack, but the locker is a tall but only 1 ft wide x 1 ft deep space. So, pro tip: don't bring a big handbag with you! My facial starts with a "consultation". I was all braced for some critique on my skin condition and sale pitch for their products, but I guess high end places go for positive reinforcement, because the esthetician told me that my skin looks gorgeous and just keep doing what I've been doing... So, I settled into the contoured bed, to enjoy my Radiance Facial. The esthetician uses hot and cold stone alternately to massage my face, which is interesting and enjoyable. Her strokes are delicate on my face but firm on my back and feet (I was offered the choice of scalp or foot massage to conclude the session). My face truly looks radiant and brighter afterwards; even my husband said so, and trust me, he's not the type to be polite and pleasing. Beautiful spa!!! Loved the hotel and the staff. Very clean and tranquil. My massage was a part of their summer special and was reasonably priced and amazing. You also get a day pass to the hotel rooftop pool which has an amazing view of the beach and water. Definitely will be back. read more

We did a couple's indulgence package that included an 80 min deep tissue massage, an organic facial, and a 24k gold collagen mask. We had a great experience with booking and with our services. Our massages were wonderful and I think we both fell asleep during the facials so that were very very relaxing. I also have a bad back and the massage tables were the BEST massage tables I have ever experienced-- I felt weightless. Why 4 stars? I will say that the spa is pretty expensive for the lack of spa amenities. I believe they normally have a lounge with some snacks/teas (closed) and a steam room/sauna in both the male and female locker room (also currently closed). Not to mention there was some sort of jackhammering going on during our massage and I also heard it during my facial (not cool). For a full spa day next time, I think I would want to go somewhere with these amenities and this experience. We also had a couples indulgence package so we had a couples room for the massage, but then were split for the facials and I just didn't think that would be. Overall, I recommend for the services and customer service. We will be back for massages for sure, but maybe not a full blown spa day due to lack of amenities. read more

I received the Himalayan Salt ritual and it was 3 hours of bliss! The spa is beautiful and hotel is amazing as well. It's a little pricey but it's a Spa in South Beach, so what do you expect. I had a great massage and scrub with Marcelo and facial with Kiana. Even though I wasn't staying here, a plus of getting spa services is that you can also utilize their private beach and get a great beach chair/umbrella set up. The guys at the beach were very nice and attentive. I'll probably spend the extra money and stay at 1 Hotel the next time I come to Miami simply for the attentive staff and services. read more

Excellent experience. About the Spa: Beautifully decorated. Natural, romantic feel with neutrals and wood. However, if you're looking for a vast spa with tons of amenities, you'll be disappointed. There is a steam room, but it was closed for the day. There isn't any dedicated spa pool, sauna or anything like that. The locker room is small but clean. The waiting area is small and has a nice relaxing fountain, but if you come at a busy time like I did (some kind of conference?) and people don't know how to be quiet (having loud conversations like it's some kind of bar crawl), it can be quite noisy. I had to step back into the spa lobby before my massage because it was quieter there. About the massage: It was absolutely amazing... and made up for any of the other stuff that wasn't perfect. Mari is the most incredible massage therapist. She was the total package: skilled, friendly, and strong. I think the most Important part of a massage is to have good rapport with your massage therapist, and Mari knows just how to make you feel comfortable and relaxed from the moment you meet. I chose to do deep tissue. She let me know what she was doing before she moved on to a different technique, was always checking in to make sure the pressure was correct, she utilized heat in places that needed a little extra help, she helped facilitate deep breathing during some of the tougher areas, and we even joked and laughed a little during the massage. Awesome pregnancy massage with Mauri - she was extremely professional, knew exactly where to focus the massage based on (the safest) pregnancy pressure points and made sure I was comfortable throughout the treatment. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and my back feels SO MUCH better now. As far as the spa facilities go, they are pretty basic. There are two relaxation rooms right next to eachother, but it seems like this particular spa is not the most relaxing setting - there were many loud groups and even couples chatting away which took away from the ambiance of the space. Also, there aren't a ton of amenities - no hot tub, a very basic steam room and locker room with showers. Some basic amenities that I would have appreciated were missing from the locker room, like nail files, but those are minor gripes. I did take full advantage, however, of the small snacks they have available - white chocolate pretzels, dried veggie mix, nut mix and dried apricots to be exact. Overall, I had a very positive experience. Was in excruciating back pain treatment, and left feeling like a new woman. Owe it all to Mauri and can't wait to go back before the baby comes! :) read more

Came here this past Saturday with my boyfriend for the spa month special. The deal they have is great...you get your valet validated, free beach access with chairs, and an eye mask (mon-fri) but I'm still a bit disappointed to be honest with you. The massage wasn't the best, pretty mediocre for a high end spa. My boyfriend upgraded to the medium/ deep tissue massage and she used some roller that scratched his back and he told her he was in pain and she just told him to breathe through it. The steam rooms are tiny inside the locker rooms...compared to other spas in Miami. The service at the beach was terrible, it took 40 minutes to bring a bottle of rose and they messed up my salad order and then I had to wait another 30 minutes for them to fix it. When you're spending $500 for the day you just expect better amenities and service. Most definitely won't be coming back here for a massage. read more

My absolute favorite spa; today I did the Himalayan salt ritual which consisted of a scrub, massage and facial and it was amazing. The treatment left my skin glowing and smooth as a baby's bump. I loved this spa! First of all, the products that they use are fantastic. They feel truly luxurious and spa-like. The ambience is a one-hotel style, beautiful, modern, clean, white and wood everywhere. Service was immaculate and everybody in the spa was very friendly and helpful. I got a facial and my esthetician was very professional and had a great touch. She did a nice amount of extractions and still had time to give me a lot of massage. For a high end spa I was very disappointed. The women at the front desk I spoke to gave me the wrong information in regarding Miami Spa Month packages. I found a deal for an 80 minute massage for $200. And I wanted to get a facial so she told me she had a different package for $135 for a 50 minute facial and a 50 minute massage. She didn't tell me that they were two different service charges and was very convincing over the phone. Mind you my spa experience was awful. The massage was like a soft rub down and both masseuse and facialist talked my ear off. I was not relaxed one bit. I found better deals online at the Standard or the W hotel and it wasn't till I was checking out that my total was $337.50. I went with my twin sister for our birthday and they charged her $380. We both walked out spending $800 together while we could of went to a different hotel that had amazing rates during the months spa packages. I'm really upset. The woman at the front desk was laughing in my face and was super rude. I will never go to this place again. It was horrible and a rip off. read more
