We arrived late but that didn't seem to be an issue. We were taken to our rooms and quickly got ready for our massages. The rooms were clean and I liked that the masseuse was quiet most of the time. During the massage she offered a lot of pressure and asked if it was okay. The pressure hurt so good! She really worked on my shoulders/upper back where I hold most of my tension. They do let you tip on your card if you want or bring cash. The masseuse did upsell a deep tissue to my friend so keep that in mind during the massage. I would definitely come back! Did not get what I paid for (time cut short!!!!) and service was totally apathetic. Paid for 90 min deep tissue online, 85 minutes with Maria, 2:30pm appointment. I got in 5 minutes early, a woman walked up and said hi, spun the ipad on the counter around to me, and asked me to fill out my phone number and info. I wasn't sure if she was a receptionist or my therapist (no intro or words at all) until she just said ok this way and led me into a room. I walked in and without a word, she shut the door behind me and walked out... ummm... ok I guess I'll get undressed now? I'm used to therapists asking if there are any areas you want to focus on, injuries to avoid, etc... but I guess we'll get right to it. It started off nice with warm wash cloth and head scratcher that was relaxing. Music was relaxing. I thought it would be a great massage. Then she covered me with oil, and more oil, and more oil. She literally turned my back into a slip and slide and slopped it all around without getting any traction. I have back and shoulder chronic pain and was really really in need of a deep tissue massage, but instead mostly paid for being covered in oil with a light touch. The only part that was really nice was how she worked on my feet, calves, and shins- she finally applied a good amount of pressure there that I could feel. The rest felt more like petting and rubbing than the deep tissue I was expecting. It was mostly relaxing, but then at the end she seemed to speed up abruptly, moving very quickly and darting around like we were out of time, making it far from a relaxing pace. Then she turned on the lights, said OK, and left the room. Perplexed, I looked at the time and it was 3:45pm. I had a 2:30 appointment and paid for 90 minutes... why the heck was this cut short? By the time I get dressed I walk out it was 3:50. I looked for water since she didn't offer any and found a cooler and just helped myself (usually part of the service). She was typing on her phone and just said "Ok?" when I got to the front. I said it's 3:50 and I paid for 90 minutes. She just said "yep." So she either didn't get it or didn't care that I got cut short. I only had a $20 cash and wanted to tip her on the $85 I paid online, but she just pocketed it before I could ask for change. I should have just demanded the $20 back but at this point I was so disappointed I just wanted to leave. I asked if she had a bathroom and she simply said "no." Great... I over paid, over tipped, and left feeling totally dismissed and pissed off. Won't be back. read more

A couple months ago, I scheduled an appointment for my mother in law, who was visiting. When making an appointment online, you must pay upfront. The next day, she goes in for her massage and they charge her again. I called in and I was told I would get a refund in 7-10 business days. After a month, numerous calls, speaking to an employee in person, and speaking to my bank, I have still not received my refund. Every time I've called, I'm told I will receive a call back, til this day I have never received a call. No one is able to help me. When I contacted my bank, Massage Haven actually disputed the chargeback, meaning I don't get my money back. Because of the convenience of the location, I often go for massages and treatments. My masseuse, Pierina, is absolutely fabulous. This review shouldn't reflect on her, as she is not the manager, nor involved with the back office. Pierina gets 5 stars, she's the best!!! She knows her craft and is very professional and accommodating. The lack of response from them is incredibly frustrating. I have been patient and have called, been there in person, left countless messages, and still no response. I do not recommend paying upfront or online. It's been 2 months and I still haven't received so much as a call back from them. read more

We tried this place since it was close to our hotel and inexpensive. I was a bit nervous after reading some of the reviews, but it really turned out to be a good experience. This is not a fancy spa, and the check in process was a bit rough. We had reserved for 80 minutes each, and it took a while to make sure they understood. There were only two therapists that I saw, and they both worked on my wife and I so I don't think there was a separate check-in person. We did end up with a pseudo-couples massage, as the rooms were connected with no real barrier. This wasn't a big deal but it might be for others. Once the massage started, everything was great. My therapist used hot stones for some portions, which was really nice and unexpected. I didn't get the typical questions about areas to focus on or avoid, pressure, etc, but she did a really good job. Definitely a small place and a bit cluttered, but if you're staying in the Brickell area, I'd recommend checking this place out. Pro tip: this is inside one of the high-rise office buildings. It is not obvious how to find it from the outside but it's easy to find once you go inside. read more

Fabulous customer service? I think not! I made an appt at My Massage Haven on Brikell Bay Drive and requested a specific therapist. The appointment was confirmed. I also accepted an earlier time since they told me that this therapust was leaving earlier than my session would have been completed. A few hours later I was contacted by Massage Maven to tell me that this particular therapist was not going to come in that day. I am not sure why they did not know this when I requested the appointment. So they offered me another therapist and I did not accept this since I really did not want to come in earlier but accommodated them since they had a particular situation with the therapist I initially wanted. So they offered me a different therapist at the time that I initially wanted. Perfect I thought and I scheduled my day around this time. 40 minutes before my appointment they called me to tell me that the therapist had an emergency come up and she could not make it so my appointment had to be cancelled. Great a cancelation of a 2 hour session 40 minutes before it was scheduled. When I commented how disappointed I was, their reply was simply that "things happen" Yes things happen but there are ways to try to lessen the disappointment. They have other offices and maybe they could have found a substitute therapist? No chance of that as they never offered. Maybe offer me a 30 minute free massage applied to my next session to show their concern and that they felt bad? Nothing offered . In fact I got the distinct impression that they could care less and after speaking to others, learned that this is a common practice of this place. There is no way I would ever go there again and would expect a message of apology, a sincere apology for this. I can assure you it will never happen. Being an independent travel agent, I will be sure to broadcast this across my entire travel network worldwide. I have been wanting to write a review for awhile & I am finally doing it. I normally go to the Dadeland location & see the same therapist, her name is Belkis. I had back surgery over twenty years ago and luckily it was successful. However, as anyone knows when you have had a previous serious injury that area never heals 100%. In my twenty years of trying everything possible as far as maintenance, I have learned there are two things that work for me: stretching and deep tissue massage. I was in severe pain this past week because I had driven from N. Fla to Miami in one day. I knew exactly what I had to do. I scheduled a massage with Belkis. She is professional, caring, highly knowledgeable about how the body works. The massages I receive from her are similar to the ones I received at S. Miami Hospital PT when I was recovering from my surgery. I tell her all of the time she is a God sent. Unfortunately, my insurance does not cover PT of any kind like it did twenty some years ago. The rates at Massage Haven make it possible for me to go weekly. it is my medication, instead of taking pain killers which are addictive and only mask the problem I am able to get massages. Found this place on Yelp, it is within walking distance and they could take me immediately. It is clean, and although it's in a strange, "vintage" (it's the Four Ambassadors, you know...) storefront, it is actually quiet and relaxing! Ivan did a 30-minute chair massage for me, and I swear, within minutes my headache was history! He listened to what I needed and worked out all of the problem spots. When we get there, they only have 2 appointments and not 3 like we spoke about. I had to spend an hour of my time doing nothing because I'm not from the area. We were visiting from California. An hour of time is priceless. You don't get that back. If they were not able to accommodate all 3 of us then they should have said that and we would have found another place to go to. Overall experience: strange. My mom and I came in to get massages together and there was only two massage therapists, one woman and one man and I for one already had a bad feeling about the guy. After we signed up they told us to go into the rooms to undress and get under the blankets, my mom ended up with the male therapist and I the woman. Ended up in this place through a Living Social Deal. The place is small, clean, casual and cozy. Nothing fancy but it was perfect after a workout and for a relaxing message. They put sift music and dimmed the lights. I got an amazing 30 minute foot reflexology massage. My therapist Ivan was great. He made sure I was comfortable and that my pressure was good. I also got a 15 minute chair massage which was also great! Highly recommend this spot for a nice fix without having to pay Brickell Spa prices if you live in the area. I'm not sure they are even licensed. My therapist pushed on me like a kid does on a sibling to annoy them (imagine that for 90 minutes...), and my husband's couldn't seem to tell the difference between muscle and bone. Our privates were not appropriately covered. The bed was not heated. The room was incredibly small. But for some reason the masseuse decided to put my legs on her shoulder and manipulate my thighs which actually hurt my hips.
