Rama chicken with rice and Thai iced tea
Debra B.

Good food! Slow service for there being two seated tables. The music generally was soft and on the background, but sometimes commercials would pop on and be louder than the music.

Cashew Chicken Lunch Special
Rebecca R.

Have been here several times and have always had ok service and good food. I love the boat that they serve the lunch special in. The portion is large enough that I usually have some leftover. The rice is always fresh and cooked properly, the egg rolls are tasty, t he cucumber salad is nice and vinegary. The entree I ordered had fresh veggies, nice chunks of chicken with great flavor. This is a great spot to hit for lunch. Enjoy it very much.

Got the chicken pad thai. It was so bland and the chicken tasted like it was cooked in oil that had been previously burnt.

Just try it, its the best Thai in town. Their chicken is amazing, the portions are large, and its relatively cheap.

Solid Thai. Can be a little oily sometimes, but if you ask for less they will accommodate.

The chicken is pounded incredibly thin, yet remains juicy and is perfectly spiced and cooked. The bite size rolls are always crunchy and flavorful, especially when dipped in either the lightly sweetened dressing provided or their perfectly balanced chili oil. Strangely enough, however, I usually devour the little cup of cucumber and onion salad that comes with it before anything else - so yummy! The service is always quick, accurate and very friendly; and I'm really happy to be able to whole-heartedly support a hometown business.

I liked that the lunch special had some cucumber pieces to cleanse the palate. My Pad Thai reminds me of the college Thai food that is well made enough but might seem a bit premade. If you like the profile, slightly sticky and chewy noodles with pretty strong sweet flavor profile, this is not bad. Egg roll was light and crunchy, some might like that. Overall I think the Thai flavor is a bit muted, and it's leaning sweet to fit non-Asian palate. It's not bad, but also I think there are better Thai places around Chicago.

Certainly there's noodles but there's still lots more. The prices are good and there's lots of choices for vegetarians. Finding it takes a good look. It's located in a strip mall. The place doesn't look like much. On the outside it's pretty boring. The inside isn't much better except for some random ornaments on the walls. Most people get carryout it seems, making the interior not that important. The place has some lunch specials. I was around at the time and decided to come in. The entree I got was the Pad Kee Mao. It's about $10 for the lunch special. The lunch specials comes with a soup which isn't vegetarian. Better to just get the full dinner entree. This is the same price and you get a bigger plate. Get here for some big and cheap portions of Thai food. It of course has noodles. There's lots of items that can be made vegan and vegetarian so just ask to leave out eggs and fish stuff.

Nathan's Noodles is freakin stellar! Their homemade sweet and sour with a kick, his satay cooked perfectly with my now number one favorite peanut sauce, their pad Thai Nathan style bomb! It was the perfect opportunity to try a variety of items. Here is what we ordered: Thai iced tea (4) Egg roll, vegetarian (4) Chicken satay (2) Pad see eiw w/beef (2) Crispy Thai noodles w/tofu (2) Green curry with tofu (2) Basil seafood with extra seafood mix (2) Mixed veggie stir-fry with shrimp (2) Mango and sticky rice (4) Overall, we were satisfied with the flavor profiles and everything was delivered in an efficient manner. The portions are not large and I think we would order two more entrees when we revisit with our large group of 14. We have had mango and sticky rice many times in the past. This is our first time having it with a purple-bluish color sticky rice. I don't think it made much difference with the flavors but the kids were turned off by it and refused to try. Then again, kids are sporadic and we can never truly tell what appeals to them. The mango was not ripe but this was back in March when mangos were not in season. Otherwise, we would definitely return and we are eager to try the other items such as crispy catfish curry and pepper squid.

I was immediately drawn in to Ming Chef by the bright modern exterior and interior. Such a nice departure from traditional dark Chinese places. The food was so beautifully prepared and presented. My husband ordered his safe choice, fried rice and enjoyed an elevated version of his favorite with tender barbecued pork. I ordered a mushroom and shrimp dish that was offered over wide rice noodles. So delicious! The variety of mushrooms really set this dish apart. Kenny helped us narrow down our choices from the expansive menu to suit my need for novelty as well as my husband's spice-phobic palate. Kenny also treated us to custom bobo tea for desert. I feel so lucky to find this place! Our new favorite for sure!
