I pass by this place everyday so we decided to come here. I don't know about this place being authentic since I didn't see a single Thai person working there, but it's pretty decent for being close by. The dining room is not that small. It could seat a good number of people. We ordered crab rangoon, panang curry with beef, lad nar with beef, and Thai custard. The beef in both entrees could have been more tender, they were a little on the chewy side. The curry had a good amount of heat even at mild. The curry had a nice flavor. The lad nar was good, I liked the gravy. The Thai custard was good but small. $7 is too much. It's more like a $3-4 dessert. Service was very friendly. Prices were fair for the most part. 3.5-4. We've eaten twice at Thai first, and both times were delicious. The service was excellent, too. I usually have a craving for Pad Thai, and have ordered it at every Thai restaurant I've eaten at. I'm not a fan of reviewing food that i ate for the first time. No way was i eating a pad thai, i need to try new items. I settled for a small Tom yum soup with vegetables. It was excellent , had a fermented fish/shrimp flavor it was excellent and i had a red curry for my main dish. It was an excellent dish, i polished off both items. I'm sorry, but after visiting many other Thai restaurants, I no longer can confirm this place accurately reflects the vibrant flavors of Thailand. This place is rather one of the many westernized Thai restaurants you will find all across Chicagoland. Food may still be delicious but not what one would consider authentic Thai cuisine. Came for a work lunch and was pleasantly surprised! Make sure to ask for the lunch special menu, otherwise they just give you the traditional dinner one. It came with a soup and wonton appetizer. The soup I got was chicken and rice and it was super simple but comforting (it did have a pretty strong ginger taste as well). The pad thai and fried rice both tasted very authentic! The chicken was cooked well and the noodles were the perfect texture. The server provides hot sauce to adjust the spice level (which in my opinion was needed, but if you are sensitive to spice it's perfect). I will definitely come again! read more

Delicious food! We ordered a few things for take out, yellow curry, chicken pad Thai and the Tom Yum soup. All were delicious! My only surprise was that the curry didn't come with rice (you have to order that as a side) but luckily we had leftover rice from dinner the night before, so no big deal! This is our second time. The first time we had appetizer (Spring Rolls), soups (Tom Kha and Tom Yum) and two entrees (Basil Dynamite & Yellow Curry). It was very good but we wanted to try other dishes recommended by Lisa. This time we had Massaman Curry and the Pangang Noodle it was wonderful. Just had the Panang Curry and LOVED it! Not everyone can make favorable curry. The sauce was NOT too spicy, just a hint of spice. The rice was soft and tender, while the vegetables were slightly crisp, but smooth enough to mix easily with the sauce, and the rice. Absolutely loved it !!!!!! read more

This place is so cute. We stopped by for lunch a couple of months back and came back for dinner tonight. The service was quick and polite. The food has been amazing both times. I'm still searching for a good Thai restaurant near me and I'm finding it really difficult. When I stepped inside, I was pleasantly surprised by the cute decor. I ordered the spring rolls, papaya salad, basil chicken and pad thai for carryout. The serving sized was decent. I didn't like the spring rolls, it was too simple and bland. The papaya salad was ok, but it was fluffed up with a lot of iceberg lettuce. The pad thai was ok, again good portion size. And I appreciate that they accommodated my request to chop up the chicken for the basil chicken. It came with a nice amount of veggies. There are no fish cakes on the menu, unfortunately. I'm willing to go back and try some other dishes. I'm still on the hunt for stronger flavors. read more

Another weekly covid takeout food day for me and my dining mate. The restaurant serves a good variety of Thai dishes. We ordered coconut soup for 2. plus 3 appeiters to share: basil rolls, chicken sticks with peanut sauce and chicken lettuce wraps. The soup was delicious but pricy almost $10 . Our appetizers were very tasty and we liked the chicken sticks the best. Food was fresh and enough for us both. Around ,$30 for this meal. Years ago I stopped here for lunch quite often in mid-afternoon. Then they started closing mid-afternoon, and also the pandemic. Went back yesterday for lunch with my neighbors, and it was disappointing! First of all, there is no longer a lunch menu, only the regular dinner menu. So right off the bat, lunch was noticeably more expensive. I ordered my usual green curry with tofu. The taste was still excellent, but the portion stingy. Compared to the photo I posted years ago, the quantity of both tofu and vegetables was much less on this full dinner serving than the old lunch serving. Less food for more money! Service was ok, though for example it took me many attempts before getting my water glass refilled. We probably won't order that again. It was fresh, but not as crispy. My husband ordered the Panang Noodles. When I asked about his food, he said, "I like it. I don't love it.." According to yelp, it's supposed to be their signature dish. It's cool that they put curry and noodles into one dish. It's an option for someone who can't decide between curry and noodles. I ordered Pad Ke Mao with Tofu. I enjoyed it. Again, I appreciate it when the food comes out H-O-T! No complaints. The ambiance and the lady who works the front are my highlights. The decor is beautiful! They have linen and plenty of seating. The lady who works in the front seems to know her customers. There were a few pick up orders and she asked them about their baby, their family, etc. I thought it was nice of her to be attentive and interested in her regulars. My friend enjoyed his pad thai (decorated with a carrot flower). We split the appetizer of shrimp cigars, with Thai basil tucked into the crispy wontons. I was disappointed. We went for an early lunch at 11AM when they open but they didn't open the doors until 11:15AM. Restaurant was very quiet and empty with one server/employee who seemed to still be waking up and getting the restaurant ready. He told us to just yell for him once we were ready to order since he was going to be in the back preparing condiments. I ordered Pad Kee Mao with Tofu, a Thai food staple. Some of the base flavor was there, but it left a lot to be desired. The portion was small for the price, mine came with barely any basil or chili pepper (it wasn't spicy at all), and there was an abundance of regular green pepper instead. My tofu was also cold!
