I haven't actually been to this Bambu but my aunt visits it all the time after she gets off work and orders me Che Ba Mau! At first I didn't really like it because I thought it was too thick. (It was my first time ever trying out this kind of che) but then my mom added ice to it and let it settle in and melt a little. I have to say the ice helped a lot! I believe their #1 is the most popular. We saw a bunch of people order that one. Most of their items are similar or are the same---plus or minus an item or two (i.e. a jello, mung beans, etc.). I believe this is the first Bambu in the area, forgive me if I'm wrong. It's a great to come to when you are craving cold Vietnamese desserts or drinks. I always get the #10 at all locations. The #10 is coconut milk, red tapioca, grass jelly, and pandan jelly. The coconut milk is rich and creamy, and can be a bit too sweet, but just wait until the ice melts, and it'll be just right! The red tapioca is nice and crunchy. The grass jelly and pandan is flavorful and sweet. If you come close to closing, they may run out of the pandan jelly. Service is decent. The boba is included in the menu price unlike most other boba places that I've been to. It's cash only so don't forget to bring some. There aren't any nearby atms unless you get cash back at the ranch99 next door. My brother ordered the milk mint green tea. I tried some and it reminded me of mint chip ice cream. I always get the passion fruit drink with tapioca. The passion fruit really comes through because they even add the seeds with the passion fruit pulp. I like that little bit of crunch but I know not everyone's a fan of that sort of thing. When I come here I always want to try one of their combination drinks but I can never make up my mind because there are so many choices which is actually not a bad thing about a place.I also love that coming here is less like grabbing a drink and more like getting a snack that's also refreshing! I come here often and IMO they serve the best Che Ba Mao in SJ. I always get combo 3 (Che Ba Mao) without the white beans. Green Jelly, Red Bean, Taro and Durian Paste with Coconut is a killer combo. Sweet and savory. Another drink I would sometimes get is Avocado Smoothie. Right amount of sugar and sweetness while still maintaining the purity anf richness of the avocado. Came with Mr. Piano a little while back when the need for boba struck. The location is small and a little on the loud side between the music and the drink machines (lots of fun K-Pop videos, though). Drinks are a-ok, but the staff is a little aloof. I've been to another Bambu location in Sunnyvale before, so I have at least a passing familiarity with the drinks. Granted, I tend to order the smoothie type drinks (not that fond of che drinks) with pearls, but the drinks from here didn't seem to be as well blended as the other location. Also, I guess Bambu has stopped taking their stamp cards :/ (The staff member didn't have to be so condescending about telling me, really, but maybe they get asked that a lot or something?) #10 Bambu's favorite is the best 4/5, I would recommend adding extra ice on it because the drink may feel warm overtime if you're a slow eater. Take your time mixing the ice because it can be a mess. They typically don't add enough ice for this specific drink because it's supposed to be served cool? For me I'd prefer cold. Their smash avocado I would give it a 2/5. It came with a good amount of ice but the drink was still warm due to it being mainly avocado and no liquids. I wouldn't consider this a drink because it tasted like plain avocado with no sweetness, whereas you could just go to the grocery store and eat the avocado fruit itself for $1-2. Overall the drink tastes bitter because of the coffee jelly, not a fan. read more

This is the best BAMBU I've ever been to! I only wish it were closer to me. The customer service is amazing, the drinks are amazing. We came on a Saturday night around 8:30 and ordered 6 drinks, and some were customized. I usually always get crystal/agar/white boba because very few places made regular boba great: they usually lack sweetness even if the texture is correct. Due to a miscommunication, I ended up with regular boba instead of agar boba, but she cheerfully added agar boba for me to my drink. I tasted my drink, and WOW!! This BAMBU makes PERFECT boba. I immediately let the wonderful, beautiful, and super sweet woman (who I think is the owner) know about the deliciousness of her boba and how places rarely get it right, but she has it perfect! The drinks are of superb quality as is the service. I would totally go out of my way to come here for my perfect drink! She really made my night read more

Came here with a gf on a Friday night and the line was decent considering it was a warm night. The che here isn't as expensive as I thought it was. $3.50-$4.25 or so each. The menu is pretty set and the ingredients are pre-packaged in the fridge behind the cashier. Service is pretty quick and efficient, but not as friendly as Sweet Cup. Definitely ask for ice on the side and you get more dessert in your cup! It's also great to dilute the drink as it is a little too sweet for my taste. This place seems crowded all the time! There is always a line out the door whenever I'm in this area so I've been meaning to try this place for a while. I shared the Bambu Special with my friend and it was a refreshing dessert to have on a hot day. It was basically coconut water with young coconut, basil seeds, longan, and pandan jelly. This dessert was a little hard to eat since you couldn't get the coconut through the straw but since I wasn't a huge fan of the coconut my friend ate most of it so I just drank the rest of the stuff through a straw. I think the pandan jelly really makes any of the drink combos since it's so yummy and I never got tired of it. The next time I came I got a dessert for myself and I got the the Che with lychee, longan, red tapioca, jackfruit, palm seed, pandan jelly, jello, and young coconut. This one is a good choice if you want a variety of fruit and jelly mix! The jackfruit could've been more fresh but the combo of everything was pretty good despite that. I love the red tapioca!!! I has a nice crunch in the center so it's not as starchy and heavy as regular tapioca. Pandan jelly also didn't disappoint but you would have to eat this with a spoon since the palm seed and young coconut are in large pieces. Woah has it really been six years since I last wrote a review? Anyways middle school days, I used to frequent this spot but after high school I just stopped because I didn't have time. However, before shelter in place I came here with some friends and ordered an avocado smoothie with boba. Needless to say it was one of the best smoothies I've had. It was very creamy and I find that while some places have smoothies that are icy and have chunks of blended ice, this was SMOOTH. The pearls were nice and chewy and really complimented the drink. Prices are fair and the workers here are super nice. If you like avocados or want to try something new, I'd recommend. However I think there's condensed milk so if you don't want that or can't tolerate dairy, then I would ask to see if they could remove it. read more

Which does not show the numbers next to all the drinks so we told her we wanted the "house special" she said there's nothing named that. Then proceed to tell us "we are really busy right now so you are going to need to call back when you know what you want" ummm excuse me?!? We did know what we want and we were trying to tell you! Then I gave her descriptions of all the drinks that we wanted she said it will be 10 minutes and then hung up. My dads girlfriend went in to pick up the drinks while I waited in the car, she came back and said that the people working seem over whelmed and were so rude. I looked at the drinks and of course mine was wrong. (Never fails, my drink is always messed up. I get a POG with rainbow jelly) so I went in to them that my drink was wrong. This place was pretty good... the second time around. During my first visit to this drink/desert establishment, I got the lychee with jelly desert. This was a very big mistake. The cup was filled with 1/2 lychee syrup and 1/2 ice. Somewhere in there were some a few lychee and some really hard jelly. It was definitely not the business. My second visit here was much more pleasant. I got the #10 desert which contained red tapioca, pandan jelly, and grass jelly. This time there was hardly any ice (which was a blessing) and the pandan was warm which really brought out its flavor. The red tapioca was very unique, with some type of object in the center of the tapioca ball. Overall, all the objects in the drink worked well together, making a great desert/drink. This is my favorite Bambu location (compared to the one in Sunnyvale and Milpitas). This is a CASH ONLY location, they accept cards at sunnyvale location. I keep coming back to this place for coconut milk tea, it is the best I have ever tasted. Ive tried taro, mango,lychee,and few desserts. But coconut tea is my favorite. They have a wide variety of milk teas/ coffees/ desserts and smoothies. Their yogurt smoothies and macaron sandwiches are good too. The only issue is finding parking. This is located in a strip mall kind of thing, which has other hot spots and ranch market right beside, hence is almost always busy. Haven't been here in years and noticed it was the only dessert place opened in the plaza around the area. I used to get the #3 Thap cam (Might have spelt it wrong) under the Che menu all the time and still love it til this day. I got the #14 to try out (Pandan Jelly and Mung bean with coconut milk) since I was really craving their pandan jelly. Their pandan jelly is literally the best I've ever had. The #14 is really good. I like how you can adjust the sweetness to the Che. Usually I ask for none since the toppings are already sweet itself. For $4.25 is not that bad for che (they definitely increased their price over the years). If you want a larger size, you can upgrade for an additional $1.50. I have yet to try the larger size of che to see if it's worth the upgrade. The milk teas are also good here. I like the honeydew milk tea (even though it's probably powder). For $3.25, I say the prices for the milk teas isnt that bad. This place is a must if you're interested in Vietnamese style desserts. There is also other Bambu locations around the area (especially in San Jose) which is just as good as well. I like how each location is consistent. Also, bring cash if your order is $10 and under. I always come here when I'm craving a Smashed Avocado (#5 Bo Dam). They don't skimp out on the avocado like most places do so the drink ends up having a very creamy consistency, rather than being watery. It's also really filling so you can actually eat this for lunch and get full. Aside from #5, I'd also recommend #10, #3, and the Vietnamese iced coffee. Get #10 if you're looking for a Vietnamese dessert without beans in it. It's pretty refreshing. Get #3 if you like beans in your drink because this dessert is the three color drink. As in the drink is loaded with red beans, yellow beans, and green beans. It sounds gross, but it's good! Get the Vietnamese iced coffee if you need a serious pick me up. That stuff is strong. I feel like Bambu requires an acquired taste because many of their drinks have coconut or beans in them. I go there regularly and I am always satisfied with many of the drinks. I have tried some of the milk tea and I don't normally get it anymore because they taste pretty bland. The taro milk tea is an exception. You can really taste the taro. I have also tried some desserts and I love them all. My favorite being the #10 dessert, but I substitute the grass jelly for boba. Best Bambu location hands down. They're quick with their orders and consistent with their drinks/desserts. My favorite is the #1 on the che menu (bambu special). My second favorite is the popular ba mau #3. This is my family's go-to che place. We've tried other Bambu locations but it's not as good as this one. They level their che more than half way of the cup, leaving little room for ice. Some places leave half cup che, half ice. I personally like little ice in my che, just because by the time it melts, it won't be watery. It's all in your preference but this place has been the best and real consistent. read more
