Nothing too special but never disappoints. Usually pretty busy and packed but usually seats you right away. They have lots of tables inside and it's pretty spacious. It's a great place for gatherings or group meals. Service always on point too. Food comes out super quick, and theres always servers walking around if you need anything.

Since it's located along el Camino real, parking can be tricky unless you circle to the back and park along the street.

Our dessert came with two of each of the three flavors offered, coconut, green tea and mango. The other disappointment was the server/restaurant couldn't even bring themselves to just comp us one extra cone seeing there were seven of us. In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations, the new needs friends. Yesterday afternoon, I experienced something new, an extraordinary drink from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about fine cooking is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for Bambu's famous motto: Anyone can cook. But I realize, only now do I truly understand what they meant. Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere. It is difficult to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now working at Bambu, who is, in this critic's opinion, nothing less than the finest barista in Millbrae. My family and friends have been regular customers since they opened, pre COVID years. We like their drinks and snacks. However, some things may be improved: Their prices are 50cents to a $1+ more expensive than other Bambu stores, especially anything that has avocado. Their prices are erratic - they go up and down, but mostly and often enough, They go up. Their Halo halo drink used to be one of the cheapest at $6.50 but now at $8, it's one of the most expensive. I don't think my family will patronize this Bambu store anymore. Fortunately there's a lot of similar boba places at a more reasonable prices in the Millbrae area. read more

I was quite impressed by their wide variety of drinks and desserts. Sometimes new desserts get created for the sake of being different, but Bambu does it with a sense of purpose and does it well. Staff is pretty awesome too. I hope they keep it up. read more

After a few minutes, the worker still didn't come out and there was no bell at the counter to ask for assistance so I yelled out a few times and he still didn't come out. He finally came out a couple minutes later and didn't acknowledge me until I said "excuse me" for the third time, only to tell me my drink was not ready yet. He then started making my drink and I got it five minutes later. I ordered the seasonal Summer Stardust which is said to be a cotton candy-inspired smoothie with coconut, vanilla, and blue raspberry, blended with strawberry foam and Cosmic Burst topping. The ads for this drink were appealing with its unique bright blue and pink combination but my drink was a dull pink and white. I asked if the drink provided to me was the Summer Stardust because I didn't see any blue and the worker said yes and that "syrups make different shades of blue" in a snappy tone. The drink itself was okay and did somewhat resemble cotton candy but mostly tasted like sugar and the Cosmic Burst topping reminded me of pop rocks candy. Their Alien Tonic, which very fittingly is colored green from the green apple & lemon flavoring, goes well with the Red Heart jelly for a strawberry kick. Came back here to try a Mango Shake and an Oreo Shake and what a disappointment…read more. Literally water and maybe a small scoop of mango ice cream. Not happy at all! Oreo was also watery. I guess just stick to Thai iced tea if I ever come back..
