Great drinks! Fast service! And I always seem to find parking right in front! The place doesn't have much space to sit and enjoy the drinks (just a couple countertop seats), so it's more of a to-go boba spot.

Welcoming staff and relatively quick service. Decent seating. Everything is ordered through their kiosk and there is a huge menu in the middle of the store with all of their options besides their classics (Creamy Jasmine, Liquid Gold, Lychee on Lychee, etc.) Downsides are the 24 minute parking available right in front and a $1.20 extra for additional toppings...or may I say 9 tapioca pearls. Tea quality seemed to went down as well as my Lychee on Lychee drink was a tad watery.

Clean and fun vibe place to be for a great refreshing cool drinks. Easy and direct self order service. Quick turnaround with nice staff. The place is cute with light decor. Parking is street parking or big parking lot behind the place.

Silky strawberry 5/5 was the perfect balance of sweetness and milkiness. Enjoyed the strawberry bits in there for extra texture. Mochi donuts were very chewy and flavorful 5/5 Hate the bamboo straws, you touch them wrong and they break and you can no longer drink from them.

Stopped here for a little treat after dinner. I got a matcha royale (which is equivalent to a matcha latte sweetened with honey) A little too sweet for me - I'll remember to lower my sweetness level next time Interior is cute and there's a nice place to sit next to window and relax while people watching if thats your thing

Was in the area looking for a snack so here I am. I came in and ordered the matcha royale (mango) and it did not disappoint! The drink had the right level of sweetness and blend of matcha and mango. The service here was good as the drink came out very fast. To order, they have a kiosk up front. The restaurant itself is small and has some available seating. All in all, a great experience. Try it out if you like. :)

Even though my first, and, previously, only, visit to Teaspoon came quite a while ago, I distinctly remember being fairly impressed with my drink, even despite it being "just" their House (Black) Milk Tea. A close second? The menu, which featured a whole array of interesting options that I'd never really seen anywhere else. So, when I found myself here at this Teaspoon, you'd be correct to assume I was going to check out some of those more unique offerings! At a glance, Teaspoon probably doesn't stand out a ton from the many other boba shops in the area. Inside, there are only a half dozen or so seats, the menu isn't the most extensive one out there (though, it's displayed on a huge TV), and they're definitely more of a chain than some of their nearby competitors. However, chain boba shop or not, there's no doubt that the diverse collection of drinks here is eye catching. While many may not be all that traditional, the majority of them sound so enticing! Between their various fruit teas, milk, and smoothie concoctions, I almost felt compelled to come back to try something else before writing this! -- GUAVA SUNSET - Freshly Blended Guava and Pineapple Marmalade with a Splash of Lemon Juice...$7 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/teaspoon-san-mateo-san-mateo-2?select=8sfmMShFCffQe3wJRS3E3Q) As annoying as it was to get little bits of guava stuck in my teeth, it was well worth it to know they use real guava. Not only was the taste delicious (I love guava juice), but it was also pretty refreshing and not overly sweet. -- STRAWBERRY COLADA - Pineapple and Coconut Smoothie with Signature Strawberry Jam...$7 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/teaspoon-san-mateo-san-mateo-2?select=C-nuACzexdyAJUiojgOLaw) This was fantastic! In a lot of ways, it reminded me of the lava flow cocktails I had in Hawaii (sans alcohol, of course). The mix of pineapple and coconut, in particular, gave this a decidedly tropical twist that was complemented well by the strawberry jam. So good! With so many options to choose from around 3rd Ave, it's easy for Teaspoon to get overshadowed, especially by some of the newer and/or trendier shops that are around or spots that simply have more to offer. However, I don't necessarily mind that the crowds don't flock here as heavily as the likes of TP Tea or Sweet Moment, for example. Personally, I actually think Teaspoon is one of the better places that I've tried in the neighborhood, so I certainly don't mind not seeing a crowd ahead of me when I stop in. Especially when I still have so many more interesting drinks of theirs to try! FOUR AND A HALF STARS rounded up.

As suggestion to the business: If the space could be renovated, then I'd recommend a long bar top along the wall at counter height. It does not have a dedicated parking lot, so be sure to grab the first street parking slot you see! It's a modern, small shop with some seating options (if you come early enough, you will be able to get something!) My usual here is typically a black sesame latte and I will say, probably the best one you can get in the Bay Area. It's toasty, nutty, but not over powering. I have been having a hard time finding a comparable contender. Besides that their vanilla latte is delicious and bright. For me their miso is a bit salty but that might be a preference. They also have some amazing selections of pastries you can get. I always get something new while I'm here, most recently, I got a pork floss croissant but I did enjoy the ube croissant when they still carried it. Their baristas are always very kind, and are willing to help. Despite coming in some busy times, I always get my drink in a reasonable time. I will continue to rave about this spot to my friends! It's a gem. :)

Granted we came on Mother's day weekend for lunch, but the place was packed when we arrived. It's tucked in a little corner next to Osaka Marketplace by the water. We were lucky that a table outside was clearing out right when we were ordering. There was almost a few people waiting for a table at all times. The restaurant was kind of small, with only 5-8 tables inside (mainly for groups of 4 or less people). Outside there was several larger tables and the weather in the area is typically nice enough to dine outside. The staff seemed very stressed and under pressure. They were constantly running out orders and so they weren't very attentive to people coming in or waiting at the counter. Nonetheless we ordered a variety of things to share through the self-order kiosk. Between four people, we shared two appetizers and four entrees with some left over food. The siu mai and fish balls were as expected, nothing mind-blowing but the satay sauce was delicious and definitely necessary. Fried chicken wings were very crunchy exterior and moist inside, but the seasoning itself was a bit underwhelming in my opinion. Again, the included dipping sauce made the dish much more enjoyable. Lemongrass pork neck was flavorful and had that jowl texture that makes pork so succulent. The sweet chili sauce paired well for this simple dish. The fried egg addition is always nice. The bbq Iberian black pork was a little disappointing as the broth was a bit plain and the meat itself not as tender as we hoped. Noodles were decent. Cheesy corn pasta was an interesting fusion. The corn added sweetness while still retaining a savory taste from the sauce they used. A little creamy for my preference but I can see the appeal. HK style toast was unexpectedly good, but maybe because I had low expectations from the other items. There was a crisp exterior to the bread with fluffy interior, stuffed with peanut butter. The condensed milk is essential for this! Overall, neat idea that resembles many cafes in HK but average execution. We were hoping for more variety of dishes but it's alright for what they do have. It's nice diversification to the area.
