I'm from SoCal, so the location at Pasadena was the one that I frequented the most back in my high school days. This location is in a plaza with plenty of parking spots. The main highlight of Tpumps is the ability to customize your own drink with all the many flavors that they have. My go-to combination is the strawberry, mango, and pomegranate green milk tea. They also post some popular flavor combinations on the wall if you're not too sure what to pick. Another plus is that boba is included in the drink price, so it's a good bargain if you're planning to order boba as well. They also usually offer free samples, which is always great to give a try. This T-Pumps is pretty standard. They're quick at making their drinks and they're simple and effective here. They have a small inside and sometimes have a sample jug outside with small cups to try flavor combos. It's definitely a cute place to walk around and enjoy because there's a cute walk around on the middle side of the building or you can walk near the water. But the drink was less sweet than mine which was throwing me off. So the sweetness is really a hit or miss. This place is more of a pick up and leave type of shop. No seating. I love to come on Tuesday's for the free upgrade. I have never had a bad drink from here. I love that they put a different sample out that you can try when you visit. I've like so many of them that I always keep notes to order it for next time. My go to is a black milk tea with brown sugar, caramel, and coffee. Or a green milk tea with strawberry, peach, and mango. Last week I asked them to pick a drink for me without boba, and she offered me a Neapolitan. It was black milk tea with strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate. It was really good too. They use regular lids now. But I wish they went back to the other ones that are sealed on. We visited this place on a Friday afternoon and there was relatively little wait. The store is near a small shopping plaza, so there's plenty of parking. The store is more like a pick-up store - there is no seating (indoor and outdoor). The cashier was super polite and patient while we were ordering. When ordering, there are some drinks you can pick from, but you can also make it from scratch by choosing up to 3 different flavors, tea type (green tea, black tea, etc), select sugar level, toppings and milk options. Selecting a different milk option costs extra. We ordered: - Taro Milk Tea with Taro chunks with less sugar - delicious but there were too little taro chunks - Rose Vanilla Green Milk Tea with oat milk and less sugar - delicious with just the right amount of sweetness, it wasn't very creamy, but still good nonetheless One thing I really like about this place was that there are sugar options and milk alternatives available, with the default being lactose-free creamer. We went to the one in downtown San Mateo years ago and vowed to never return. However, our kid was gifted a gift card, so we went to this one in FC. This is a walk-up only place with nowhere to sit. A lone standing-only cocktail table is outside. The same reason we never went back to the one in San Mateo applies to this one. The drinks are disgustingly/cloyingly too sweet, even with the 50% sweet option. Even the kids didn't take more than a few sips before tossing them, and one of them has an incredible sweet tooth. Since I'm not a fan of syrup pumps in my tea, I went on a mission to try Tpump's customers' favorites list. Every Tuesday, on free Pumpbo upgrade day, we decided to go down the list. In addition to the deal on Tuesdays, they also offer daily reduced cost premade drinks in their mini-fridge - you can't make any changes to them, but you can buy toppings a la carte and add them in yourself. Personally, I'd do the discounted drinks since they're all syrups in the end, and it's a great price for a drink these days. Anyways, onto the customers' favorites! - Rose Vanilla Green Milk Tea If you have read the description of it tasting like Mediterranean saffron ice cream, it sort of does taste like it; but if you hadn't, then you'd probably guess something else. I do like that the rose flavor is not prominent at all, I assume from the sweetness of vanilla balancing it out. I recommend this if you are interested in trying rose flavor, since it isn't overwhelming. - Green Apple Lychee Passion Green Tea Tastes like a very watered down green Jolly Rancher, not as sour as the hard candy though. - Blackberry Peach Black Tea Tastes like Southern sweet tea, but with berry flavor. - Chocolate Strawberry Vanilla Black Milk Tea Yeah, they're spot on with their description of it tasting like Neapolitan ice cream. A pretty creamy or milky ice cream taste. - Coconut Pineapple Green Milk Tea Tastes like the essence of right after you apply sunblock. Reminds me of the beach. - Mango Peach Passion Green Tea Mild tropical but fruity and fairly refreshing. Almost like... peach Snapple. - Raspberry Mango Black Milk Tea Not sure if I'd say it tastes like Hi-Chew, but it definitely tastes like a sweet fruity candy kind of flavor. - Mango Strawberry Black Tea Not mango or strawberry dominant, but it tastes like a dark fruit. Guess it's the visuals. - Coconut Salted Caramel Black Milk Tea Tastes like a caramel Frappuccino with coconut flavor, super sweet even if you get less sweet. - Peach Rose Green Tea Peach balances out rose (sweet fruit vs bitter floral), and I'd say this is probably one of their most natural-tasting teas. - Salted Caramel Cookie Dough Black Milk Tea Tastes like over a 100% sweet black milk tea from other places... like, sweet black milk tea, but with extra dessert essence. I do kind of like the caramel flavor. - Guava Peach Green Tea One of the more subtle flavors of this list, though that's not saying much. More fruity than the peach rose, and I approve. - Passion Fruit Tangerine Guava Green Tea Does it taste like POG? Maybe, not really, tough to do with artificial tangerine. It does taste like something I would get in Hawaii, though. - Almond Roca Raspberry Vanilla Black Milk Tea Says it tastes like a raspberry cheesecake, and that's all I can think about. I think it gets some dough essence from the almond roca, and definitely the creaminess from the vanilla. Eh, I'd say we don't really have favorites - just get what your mood decides. It's all the same in the end. Personally, I'd just get their teas without a flavor, as I do think their tea strength is pretty decent considering their premise. Maybe their chocolate is promising, as it's actually chocolate syrup. I wouldn't recommend the $1 mix upgrades. It's still a powder mix. I got honeydew and it tasted too artificial. They give the least amount of toppings I've ever seen for a boba place, but that's probably going to be better for you in the long run. They recently added lychee jelly to their toppings arsenal, and boba bran means chia seeds. For this type of place, their honey boba is surprisingly consistent and decent. It has a good chew and a slight film of honey taste. By the way, if you get pumpbo, it's a ton of liquid so you'll probably feel bloated if you drink it within a couple hours, and you WILL want to pee often because it's a lot of sugary tea.
