I honestly had no intention in ever coming here, but I'm glad I was able to try it.. because I'm now addicted lol! This place was recommended to me and so I tried their chocolate banana smoothie with boba. I was soooo pleasantly surprised. It's not often that you find a boba spot that will use real fruit in their smoothies and I'm so glad I found this place. There are lots of options and popular drinks but I will stan the chocolate banana smoothie (just cause it's one of my favorite flavor combinations) I sometimes ask for my drink to be sealed but the worker is honest in telling me I would loose a big portion of the drink (they usually have a dome cap for this drink). I would definitely come back and I probably will be here sometime this week tbh lol read more

I was so happy and excited to find out that Bambu opened up down the street from me!! Now I don't have to drive that far to get my Che dessert fix! I ordered the #10 which is the Bambu Favorite, #4 Summer Delight and one Strawberry Smoothie. The drink was really delicious even though it took about 20 minutes or so to come out. I didn't mind waiting because I knew how busy they were and the lady at the register told me it would be about 15 minutes. Also, I noticed that the drinks weren't as sweet as the location on Stockton Blvd. I LOVE my drinks on the sweeter side, hopefully this location starts to do that as well. The line to order was out the door! They were calling out the order numbers for the drinks that were ready and there were a couple people not paying attention or left to go elsewhere while waiting. I noticed that they have a Bambu Halo Halo on the menu as well, but didn't try it on my first visit. I'll be back for sure! Thanks for opening up a closer location to me!!! read more

I ordered a strawberry smoothie and the #10 for my sister. The cashier was very friendly and repeated my order several times throughout checking out to ensure my order was correct. I got my items relatively quickly and my drink tasted the same to the South Sac Bambu location! The Elk Grove location has a wider menu variety compared to the South Sac location which is also a plus. I saw they had pandan waffles and a whole coconut on their menu. Bamboo and OfcHonestly I was just driving to find a coffee shop and I happened to notice this boba and coffee shop on my Google map. Elk Grove is full of boba shops and cafes but this place in particular has a mixture of both and I was surprised that they even had Filipino halo halo with a Vietnamese twist to it. I got the Vietnamese iced coffee which is tasty. Most Vietnamese iced coffee is to better or too sweet however this one was perfectly made. And I also got the bambu favorite. Both taste delicious and I am excited to try it again. read more

Last Saturday we hosted a small birthday boba tea par-tea for our dance team. The service was excellent. We called in advance and they said a group of 12-20 was no problem. When we arrived they quickly cleaned up two large tables. Of course our kids had complex orders. LOL! The staff took their orders with grace and not one single order was wrong. Lavender milk tea... 10/10! I don't like mine too sweet or when the lavender tastes a little too much. I ordered this today and it was the by far the best Lavender MilkTea I've had! I wish I could get it in a giant jug. It was refreshing and perfect for a muggy warm day like today. My order: regular lavender black milk tea, 75% sweetness. The other popular item of this place is their Halo Halo! If you haven't tried it, the dessert originated from the Philippines and it is a perfect sweet snack for those hot summer days. Ok so anyone who lives in Sac will know that June, July, and August is when Mother Nature starts eating some ghost pepper chilies and let's loose her extremely hot weather farts on the land. This particular month has been a scorcher until I found the one drink to rule them all. I was stumbling on the sidewalk, weaving in and out of traffic, trying to find reprieve from the 108 degree heatwave. My mouth was dry, my sweat was crystallized from the baking sun, and my skin was getting burned by the second. In fact, I think I was suffering from major heat stroke. I was stumbling and bumbling and finally collapsed in this mini strip mall. I was awoken by an angelic saint, held up to my feet, and pulled into this store to cool off. This Good Samaritan introduced herself as Q, the heart of Bambu in Elk Grove. I asked her what is Bambu? Is it the plants that cute pandas in China eat? She laughed and said no, Bambu is the hottest spot in Elk Grove that specializes in traditional Vietnamese drinks such as coffees, bobas, and something called Che. She noticed I was near death from the heat and that she had the perfect drink to quench my thirst. She proceeded to go to the back of the store, pulled a bunch of ingredients furiously mixing concoctions, and ultimately presenting me with a cup filled to the brim with purple liquid. I was hesitant to try, but the voice in my head assured me that it was safe and at this point nothing else could go wrong. I took one sip, closed my eyes, and saw the answer of the universe. I screamed Hallelujah and started chugging this magical liquid. I regained my strength immediately and ordered another. I felt I could do anything in this world, even cure cancer. Q said the new drink was called a Dragonfruit Refresher. All she asks is that I spread the word about the drink. I'm here and alive today thanks to Q and this Dragonfruit refresher. The first time I ordered fresh coconut drink and add couple toppings, I got a big size cup. The second time I ordered exactly the same drink, they gave me a small size cup ($10 for a drink in a small cup , that's expensive). I asked them if they made mistakes on my order because I expected the big size cup. However, they told me that they never sell it in a big cup. They told me that if I would like a big cup, I had to pay $1.50 for extra. It did not make sense at all for the consistency. My very first time at bambu! I got a #6 (fruit addict) and a pandan waffle. The waffle is good! Has a mochi texture to it and subtle yet flavorful pandan flavor, just the right amount of sweetness. I have been a big fan of Bambu for years, but this is my first time trying this location. I got the #2 Bambu Special Che substituting our boba for jackfruit for free. It was delicious and everything I was craving. They give a generous combination of jellies with the perfect ratio of crushed ice and coconut milk. The server was super nice and patient when I was being indecisive about my order. They brought out my drink quickly even though the store was a little busy. I would definitely recommend anyone who likes beverages to come here and try their diverse menu cause I'm sure you'll find something you like! read more

I first had Bambu when I lived in San Jose years ago, but had only visited a Bambu location once prior to this location opening. Since this location opened so close to home, I decided to give Bambu another couple of chances. At this location, I tried the "Fruit Addict" (#6) and the Jackfruit Smoothie on separate occasions. I had forgotten that Che isn't really for me; it just has too much junk/stuff in it for me and I've always found the jelly to be kind of gross, but again, that's just my opinion. The Jackfruit Smoothie had the very SLIGHTEST hint of jackfruit...maybe they aren't making the drinks according to the franchise specifications? (I can't imagine they can continue to sell those smoothies if they don't taste much like the fruit you want in it.) Whatever the case, it was like drinking water with a hint of flavor. I can now say I've given Bambu a few more shots and can safely confirm that it is not for me. read more

It was ok, I got the halo halo. It was so bland zero flavor. It felt like a knockoff of the actually thing. I was excited when I saw it on the menu so I ordered it. I had a certain expectation and the halo halo was below avg on a a scale 1-10 I would give it a 3. If you're looking for halo halo this place is not the place to come to. They had other drinks that we didn't try so I'm not gonna speak on that but as far as halo halo is concerned you're better off going to chow king, or other places that has halo halo. read more

I had no idea this place opened, so I had to do a double take while driving down Elk Grove Blvd. Sure enough, it was the Bambu I knew and loved from San Jose, so I decided to bust a u and check it out. The interior was much like your typical boba type of establishment, nothing too exciting here. Cashier was friendly, I asked when they opened and he said two weeks ago - that explains why I never noticed. I ordered a #4 and #10, they took a bit of time to come out, definitely not as fast as San Jose, but they tasted great, especially on a hot afternoon. I came 15 mins before closing and there were 3 other people ordering. It's great that they don't start closing 10-15 min early like many other boba/desert places. The only negative I can think of is the speed of the drinks coming out, but I'm sure that will get better with time and experience. I'm giving this place a 5/5. read more

I went back a here and I wanted to update my initial review (first visit). They were less busy and quicker service.. My recent visit, the taro lover was so good...a lot of ice, good portion and coconut milk was sweet, not water down or bland. It was perfect. Bambu offers a variety of vietnamese desserts known as Che. It's rare to find a place like this in the elk grove/ sacramento area. Overall the drinks here and jellies they use are tasty, but the service is definitely not up to standards. Not only are the workers extremely slow with taking and making orders, some of the workers are rude and not attentive to details when taking orders. However, I love bambu and will keep coming here to get my usual number 10 (summer delight) since this is the best che you can get in this area. They're still working out some kinks. The pandan jelly was very thick & chunky making it hard to "drink" and hard to balance on your spoon, the beans were crunchy & the pandan waffle didn't taste like pandan at all. I am sure they'll figure it out, but for now they're still trying to get it together. Note: I ordered four waffles (paid) and the party AFTER me received free waffles "to try". Im all for networking/ samples etc but to make it so obvious after I paid for four..... eh. I'll try to revisit again for an updated review. read more

It's been a while since I had purchased a drink from Bambu. The last time was years ago at the Florin (Stockton blvd) location. This Elk Grove location seems clean, and a quick glance at the menu...prices jumped by quite a bit, but what else havent increased in this day and age? Anyways, I proceeded with ordering #15 Bambu Halo Halo. It wasnt cheap at $9.50 but it was more like a dessert than a drink, so that helped justify the price a bit. The taro ice cream on top was my favorite part of the drink. The rest of the drink was decent and filling (w/beans and jelly etc. ). Will go back and try out other items when I get the chance. read more

So excited that bambu is finally here in Elk Grove! No longer need to make the trek to south sacramento, but also will be dangerous on the diet because it's irresistibly delicious. Not your average boba shop, they have authentic Vietnamese desserts called Che. A must try, fresh fruits (coconut) being my favorite and coconut juice or coconut milk. So refreshing! We got the #1, #10 and #11 which are the house favorites for my husband, daughter, and myself. The drinks were delicious and held up to the standards. I don't understand the other reviews saying it is bland. Maybe the drink of choice was different from ours, but it was definitely good. They also have pandan waffles coming soon! They are one of the busiest drink shops in Elk Grove since opening! Word is slowly spreading. I went yesterday and there was a line to the door. I didn't mind waiting though. Customer service was good and they have seats/tables for you to enjoy your dessert drinks. We will definitely be back quite often. read more

Perfect place to get something refreshing. Got the blended avocado coffee and a #4 (Summer Delight). Honestly avocado and coffee are not something I would match but it was very satisfying. First visit to any Bambu location. This location used to be a different boba place that I went to a lot after school. The layout looks the same, there are tables along the side wall. I've only tried their fruit smoothie, it's good but it was a little expensive. couldn't see the menu too well because of the glare from the sun, but the person behind the counter did a great job explaining the menu. read more

This used to be Boba tea before it changed to Bambu. Sign is not up yet, but you will see a "grand opening" banner hanging by the front door. Drinks are pretty good just like their other branch. Finally a Bambu in Elk Grove! This location used to be Boba Tea House. Inside, there are plenty of chairs and tables. I went around 6pm on a Wednesday and they were pretty busy but moving quick to get orders out. I ordered the #10 which was good and the customer service was great! They also offer a wide variety of items on their menu that is not offered at the Sacramento location. I'll definitely stop by again to try other things on the menu when I'm in the area. read more

There were no hints of star anise, cinnamon (often referred to as Saigon cinnamon), cloves, black cardamom, coriander seeds, and fennel seeds -- nada. And the noodles were way too overcooked making my dish so difficult to eat. I ordered pho and it looked like pho -- but it tasted nothing close to it. I need to share that as a reality to the owner and staff so they can make changes to the quality of their food -- otherwise, I don't know if this place will survive the competition. Also, I observed a staff member behind the counter blending a smoothie of some sort, tasting it with a spoon, and then putting back said spoon into the smoothie to stir before pouring it into a cup (and I saw the cup delivered to a party a few tables down from us). That probably isn't very hygienic and it's sad to see that's how things are handled behind the scenes here. I just happened to look over from our table and was pretty disgusted. Moving on, I hope these guys shape up because the quality and taste of food was actually bad. And, I can rarely say that about restaurants I patronize because I love supporting local small businesses. Best of luck to these guys.

I recently ordered the #5 Pho Tai, Gau and the #14 Pho Hanoi. There's only one size here. It was more than enough for me. Some of the meat was tough/overcooked in the #5, but overall enjoyed the pho. The #14 was good as well and the meat was flavorful. I'd order both again. Since there aren't any other pho places open late in EG, Sit Lo Saigon has been my go-to.

What seemed to be "display" spring rolls in a takeout container sat underneath a sign near the register that said they now offered - Spring Rolls! I was craving some so I ordered it and watched in horror as the cashier took the container that had been sitting there before I arrived and placed it next to the sandwich making area. Maybe it was just a signal to the person making food that spring rolls were ordered and to make some, but nope, I was served shrimp spring rolls that had been sitting there on the counter, not temperature controlled. When we asked to give it back for a refund we were given one, but we were also told that it had been made recently since people order them all the time. At least put it in the fridge, maybe. Then while we were eating another worker was mopping the floors all around us, and she actually bumped into me twice with her elbow, that's how close she was. Maybe don't mop the lobby while folks are eating. All that on top of seeing the person making food grab a broom with gloved hands that then prepared sandwiches without changing gloves or washing hands made me decide never to come back again.

We ordered the strawberry mango tango tea with black boba and Saigon coffee. Both drinks were really good. The strawberry mango tango tea was really refreshing and the boba was soft and chewy. The Saigon coffee was tasty and the perfect amount of strong. The staff were friendly and we got our drinks pretty quickly. They forgot to add boba into my strawberry tea the first time but caught it before handing it over to me to add it. I didn't mind since it was a quick fix. The business is in a bit of an older building that feels like a small home that was converted into a business. Ideal for popping in to grab a quick drink and go if you're in the area.

We paid $1 to add brown sugar boba. The boba was rather hard and not soft and as chewy as other places. The drink is very good though.
