So many great memories here. My baby girl loved coming here when she was smaller with her friends. It was a great place for some good Chinese cruise that would not break your pockets. The selection is pretty good and the food is very tasty. I have never been disappointed when I have came with friends and family. It's also a big plus because it is close to my home. They even have Sushi that is actually pretty darn good. Very fresh food across the table. You can even get ALL YOU CAN EAT Crab Legs on certain nights. Yum! I have not been here in ages but when I did I was always satisfied. I know they serve alcohol but I have never ordered any as I really don't desire liquor with Chinese food. You either like these kinds of places, or you don't. If you do, you will enjoy this place. Busy place. We went at about 6:30 on a Friday and this place was jamming. We got our table quickly. I ordered coffee and water with my buffet. I initially looked at the selections and felt a little let down with the initial survey walkthrough. Seemed limited to me. However...when I took my time to work systematically through the selections, I was pleasantly surprised at the expansive offerings. They even have pizza and ice cream for the kids. I like crab Rangoon and I cannot lie. Theirs was good, fresh, and cheesy. Yum. The chicken offerings (orange and sesame) were not as good as I hoped, but they were not bad. The green beans were good. Ordered a large to-go meal and received an email confirmation with a total amount at the end of the email. Upon arriving to the restaurant, the total amount was higher than what was in the email confirmation. I questioned the front desk employee and the response was " tax is 6 cents". I was confused because Texas tax is 8.25%, which was already added to the total amount in the email receipt. So I asked for a print out receipt, which one was already printed out and it was the same amount as my email amount. But the front desk employee kept arguing with me saying on the computer it was a different amount. I was getting annoyed because two receipts (my email and the first print out from the restaurant was the same amount, but all of a sudden, when I arrive the amount has changed and I wasn't notified at all. Instead of the employee arguing with me, if I would have been updated on the correct amount, it would not have been a big deal. But the employee chose to keep arguing with me when there was proof of the original amount. On top of that, no to-go silverware was given for the to-go order. Very poor quality of service. Amazing Service, Food was very fresh, and quite astonishing. They do frequent refills. And the place in general is an attention grabber.

They don't have crab legs anymore but they are still fairly clean they work hard to keep the place clean.

Coconut Shrimp. Coconut Shrimp. Salt & Pepper Shrimp. Salt & Pepper Shrimp. decent prices, I drink water so it's an even better deal. Don't go before noon, the food won't be warm enough. Best time is between 2-4pm. Not too crowded and dinner items start popping up around 330-430pm. read more

Worst Asian buffet I've been to in awhile. Crab legs were tasteless (I went there for crab legs). Everything I had was greasy and nothing tasted fresh at all. The clams were old and chewy, stir fried Dungeness crab legs were greasy chewy and the meat mushy, baked mussels were mushy loaded with some cold mayo spread, even the boiled shrimp didn't taste like shrimp. I've been here a couple of times on weekends. Today I stopped during lunch time (on a Wednesday) they had the lo mein spoiled. I made the lady aware of the bad smell and she ignored me. If it's that time of the week or month and you're craving Chinese food then you should check this place out. But if you want sushi, sashimi and sushi rolls at your request then you are in luck. You get all the choices of a regular Chinese food buffet but you also get really good sushi for one great low price. FYI the weekends cost more than the weekdays...~10.99 for lunch but on the weekends you get crab legs, crawfish, FROGLEGS (taste like chicken, and pretty good), steak, and you can request all the sushi rolls and sashimi you want. This is NOT an upscale sushi place like Nobu or Steel so you won't find sea urchin, octopus, crab, clam or toro. But they do have salmon, tuna, shrimp, macakrel and some other types of fish. They make really good sushi rolls on request, which they deliver to your table when ready.... rolls you would usually pay 12-14 dollars for at place like Sushi Zushi. Trust me if you need your sushi fix without the top top dollar you can't go wrong with Bamboo Palace. I recommend getting the "sexy liz" and the "surfer roll." They also have spider rolls or if you're like me, I sometimes ask for just fried soft shell crab, YUMMO (damn, I just got Rachel Ray on it.). Tell the two sushi guys Jeff sent you there for those items. Yes, the Chinese food is also good. And like every other buffet place that uses adjectives to describe itself (ie. Super duper Chinese Buffet, Ginormously HUGE Chinese Buffet, Far East Behemouth Buffet, OMG its so Massive Buffet) it has frozen ice cream for dessert or if you really want fruits and all those tiny tiny pieces of cake AND the ubiquitous almond cookie, they have those too. The selection is pretty good compared to other all you can eat places. The sushi has always been fresh when I've gone. It is a pretty good place to go with large groups. The chairs are a big problem however. If you go with a bunch of people and you are packed in your table like sardines, the chairs (in an attempt to be palace-like, I guess) are way to darn big for anyone to get in and out comfortably. Once you sit down, you're stuck. These chairs are THAT big. Maybe it is a ploy to reduce the amount of trips to the buffet one makes. It's that much trouble to get out! read more

I've been to Bamboo Palace several times since it opened a few years ago. It's kind of nestled into the corner of a little strip mall that includes a somewhat stand-alone Best Buy right next to the highway. The inside is really nice looking, with friendly hosts and waiters. The food has always been hot and tasty, the sushi has always been cold and tasted fresh, but the flavors are really nothing too special. If you're looking for a dependable buffet in the area, I would definitely recommend this one. And if you're looking for a challenge, or some interesting dinner entertainment, try eating the lime jello squares with your chop sticks :) read more

Ive been in Dallas for almost ten years now and beside my favorite Thai restaurant Banana Leaf in North Dallas ive been very disappointed at the Oriental Scene here in Dallas. This buffet is very good...actually better than most buffets. I'm a sucker for Chinese food, especially guilty please buffet style! However, the reviews did not give a clear representation of my visit. Food had good flavor, but was luke warm or cold. This is where food poisoning comes into play when the food is not being held at a steady temperature. I went to try the eggroll and as it touched my to give it was so cold I couldn't even finish taking a bite before putting it back on my plate. I pretty much tried all of the Chinese style dishes and some of them are not the normal flavor I would expect for more popular dishes. For example, sesame chicken has a common taste across places, but this place tasted totally different. Fried rice had no flavor to it and had no veggies added in. One dish had way TOO much red pepper flakes tossed in it. I get the picture of spicing it up, but dang I want to taste my chicken without flakes getting stuck in my teeth. My husband tried some boil shrimp and it was coated in oil. So, many downfalls to our experience. Some positives: great service, egg drop soup was good, and lots of variety. read more

The staff did not hesitate to pick up any used plates from the tables. The staff is friendly and prompt on refilling your drink of choice. The buffet table was neat and clean. Most of the food looked fresh (until you tasted it). The BAD: the food was lukewarm, and most of the chicken choices tasted old. It was probably the same food from lunch time. The egg rolls we're old looking and the never brought out any fresh ones. I'm a fan of their fried chicken wings, but today they were awful. I picked over everything I put on my plate hoping I would taste something worth eating. Not sure what happened in the kitchen today cause the food not worth my time or money. Can you give less than one star? No? Well they get one star for the decor. The food is for the most part unedible. the sushi really truly resembled fish bait. The color of the fish was off. It should have been bright and shiny if it were fresh. Instead it looked dull. The flavor was off. Some of the pieces tasted so foul I had a hard time swallowing them.. In fact what I really wanted to do was run to the restroom and spit them out. The rest of the meal wasn't much better. The rice was dry. Went here for lunch with some co-workers today as its the closest "Chinese" restaurant to our workplace. We won't be going back. Shoe-leather chicken. Sushi kept under heat lamps. Flies buzzing around. Out of the five of us, not one was satisfied with our meal. The only items that were deemed edible were the rice, barbecue chicken, and egg rolls. Everything else was incredibly dry, or looked sketchy enough for us to avoid trying. We finally decided to give this place a try. It's a bit hidden behind other small stores so you wouldn't know it was there unless you searched for local Asian buffets. The decor is very warm and inviting. The buffet it self is not a super large variety. It's more of a regular good size variety. I had steamed clams, coconut shrimp, orange chicken, sauteed mushrooms, egg drop soup, and much more. It all had very good flavor. I will definitely be returning. read more

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this restaurant... it is a buffet but that is not always bad. The inside is beautiful and you do not expect it from the outside... from the outside you think you might be going to a fast food restaurant, but just step inside and see all the detail... it is a nice restaurant and the pics are true to how it is... The service is good, with the ladies running back and forth getting drinks and cleaning up plates... The food is hit and miss as can be expected with a buffet. The Wonton soup was just OK, the broth tasted good but the wontons were sitting too long... the egg rolls, were great as were the dumplings and rangoons. All the appetizer stuff looked good, and the chicken wings though not spicy were tasty. As for the meal stuff, there were frog legs, crawfish, and a lot of shrimp. The coconut shrimp, and fried shrimp were very good, the honey chicken was good, my wife did not like her fried rice or orange chicken, but loved the sushi and they made her a plate of sushi rolls that was really nice. The salad looked fresh and clean as well. I tried the steak and it was chewy, but others say that it is good... so give it a try I guess it is hit and miss. I gave the restaurant 3 stars because it is not great, but it is good and a GREAT value (I wish I could have given it 31/2 stars), as dinner was $10.99 for all of the sushi and steak and shrimp. Lunch is $7.99 I think, and also a good value considering a plate of appetizers costs like $4 anywhere you go... I will go back, and I enjoyed my meal. read more
