Super hungry after spending the day at Pelee National Park - and didn't have lunch. We got here and ordered an summer rolls appetizer. It took a while to come out but it was tasty and fresh. Really enjoyed it. I got fried rice with pineapple and seafood. My husband got pho (didn't catch which kind) for our meals. We enjoyed both a lot. Not the best Vietnamese food we've had - that was in California, but this was definitely tasty and I'm happy we tried it.

Iced Matcha Tea

Bojack: Got the Sweet and sour chicken with jasmine rice, was amazing! The chicken was tender and filled with flavor. The Iced Chocolate drink was great especially for the price. The pork filled wontons for an appetizer was pretty good but not crispy enough imo. Overall 8.5/10

Johnny Noodle King - Southwest

My husband and I met friends here for dinner. Johnny Noodle King is located on Fort Street just…read moreoutside of Downtown Detroit on the way to Southwest Detroit. Hubby and I laughed at how many times we zipped past the restaurant without noticing it. My husband and I both ordered the Major Tom Khatsu, which has a coconut chicken broth base. The chicken katsu pieces were the perfect level of crispy without being heavily breaded. There was also a nice little kick to the dish, which made it so, so yummy. Our friends got the Shoyu ramen with pork belly, and the Corned Beef ramen. The Shoyu dish seemed to be more enjoyable. Though we stuck with water, cans of Faygo pop seemed to be the drink offerings - other than alcoholic beverages. Areas for improvement include the waiting. Johnny Noodle King is a small place, with a main dining area and then what seems to be a bar area attached. We initially waited by the door for our table along with another small group (we were a party of four). We were then asked to go to the bar area to wait so that it would clear the door, but found it interesting how we were asked to move but not the other group. Also, we were standing away from the doormat we were not obstructing anyone's movements. The wait was long, and we asked if we could order food to the bar area (as opposed to waiting for a table). We were told 'no', yet there was a table full of patrons who were eating. There was no notification system, so our friend had to keep going to the front to see if our table was ready. Don't get me wrong; 'hooray' to Johnny Noodle King for having such great business volume. However, they need a way to manage it so that people will not be put off. Once we were seated, we did have good service from our waitstaff, and the food was very good. My husband and I plan to return to explore more of the menu. Hopefully, we can pick a time of day when waiting won't be such a big issue.

You can get $2 Stroh's, $4 Kirin draft, and 20oz Sapporo bottles for $6. The food and service were great. The only reason it's not 5 stars is becuase there is no food on their happy hour menu. Other than that m, it's a cute Detroit inspired fusion and fun to eat there.

Kung Fu Noodle House did not disappoint. everything was rich in flavor, nice and hot and COVERED the table. Plate after plate was brought out and we enjoyed practically every single thing we tried (save for a few)! Though on the cozier side inside, the place held a lot of people and the servers were so kind and polite, even when we asked more than once what something night be. Our kiddos loved it and we'd definitely return.

Everything tasted fresh and comforting, and nothing was spicy. The tea was also really good. When the cart came around, though... I had no idea what to do or what half the dishes were! Service: The staff was nice and. That said, since we were clearly first timers, I would've loved a little guidance. Even just a quick "these are popular" or "this one's pork, this one's shrimp" would have gone a long way. Ambiance: It's a corner plaza spot and nothing about the space really stood out. It was a Saturday night and there were only two other families dining in, so it felt very quiet. Not a bad thing if you want low-key, just don't go in expecting a buzzy or lively atmosphere. I'd come back for the food, but mostly knowing what to expect next time helps.

It was a thousand out of ten. We ordered so much, the server was in shock, but we reassured her we were taking most home. I also feel like I should comment on food waste. I am the leftover queen, and this amount of food supplied ten portions (meals) for us over time and was completely finished. I saw they had two locations, but I decided to try the Ypsilanti location. The people working here were very friendly and helpful. I basically ordered half of the appetizer section since there was so much delicious choices to try. I had the sticky rice shumai, roti with curry, spicy wantons, pan fried pork buns, chicken egg rolls, crispy pork lion roll, and Korean wings (not pictured since I got an additional carry-out for my kid). We also ordered Dan Dan noodles , pad Thai, and sesame chicken. The food was all so delicious. The Dan Dan noodles were the best I have had in a long time. I love that it was not too spicy, the egg was a great addition, and I do like cilantro. The sesame chicken was huge and so crispy. I liked the pad Thai, but my husband was a bit disappointed and felt it needed a little more spice or flavor. The portions were huge, which is how we got so many meals out of the food. I loved the spicy oil on the wantons. The pan fried bus were amazing, fluffy with a slight crisp. the Korean wings had a great flavor and I liked the shumai a lot. I love how chewy the roti was, the sauce could have been thicker, but I enjoyed the curry. Everything was so good, I am not sure what I liked the most. It was an adorable place with huge portions and good prices. I really hope to stop back in again, and yes, I will probably order a ton again to enjoy there as well as at home.
