Can't believe Baldy can serve a slab of ribs for $10....and it ain't only the money. I have a professional smoker and am not able to duplicate Baldy's ribs. It's a wonderful raucous atmosphere. We went there for dinner tonight order to build your own Burger ordered a grilled chicken and not a hamburger and when it came it was a hamburger and not the grilled chicken my wife and son ordered mac and cheese and the bacon was hard and crunchy and there is hardly any cheese on the mac and cheese so it's just Mac and no cheese. I was really hoping for some good bbq food, but Baldy's did not deliver. I got the pulled chicken sandwich with coleslaw and both item were subpar. The chicken sandwich was bland and the slaw was so runny that it kept falling off my fork. Yumm! Love this place. Service is a little slow and rough around the edges but they are nice. It has usually been busy when we have gone. The food is great though and it's worth trying if you love bbq. Loved the pulled and pork sandwich and my sons grilled cheese was so good I think I ate most of it. read more

Very disappointing is how I would describe our $48 dinner. We ordered 2 meats, the brisket and smoked turkey. The the servings were very small for the price. The very thinly sliced turkey was very dry and the brisket was over cooked as well. We also ordered the Que-ben sandwich, the stale taste of the bun took over the entire sandwich. The potato mash with bacon was very tasty and so were the fried dill pickles on top of the sandwich. The service was great but for a diner that specializes in bbq I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Great BBQ. I had the Danish half-rack special. Husband had the brisket sandwich. We are BBQ addicts and this is some of the best we've had outside of Texas. Redmond location is in a new strip shopping area behind Fred Meyer and Lowes. When we drive up we thought "oh no" this is going to be an average franchise. Boy were we wrong. Great place!! Baldy's did not disappoint. I had the prime ribs special and it was the best prime rib I have ever had. Cooked perfectly! My husband had ribs and brisket. Both were very tender and extremely good!!! My husband and I went in on a Saturday afternoon. It was fairly busy but they did not appear to be understaffed. We sat down and waited for over 10 minutes. None of the staff acknowledged us at all. At least 3 of the staff walked right passed us without even the courtesy of saying they would be right with us or hand us a menu. We left. I will not be back. The actions of the staff reflect the management. I worked in restaurants for over 20 years and the first thing you teach staff is to acknowledge the customer and never walk around without your hands full. This was unfortunate, as we were really looking forward to trying this restaurant. We went to a restaurant down the street that was also busy but received menus and welcoming hello right after entering the restaurant. That is an example of good management. read more

Just moved to Redmond and wanted to try some local food. Went in and ordered take out. Took 20-30 minutes which is fine. It means they are cooking it. Got the food and took a 5 minute drive home. Opened everything and it was all old. The onion rings were soggy and the fries were cold. The burgers were gross and the lettuce on them was like cooked spinach. The $5 root beer float was maybe 3/4's full in a coffee to go cup. Not the greatest. Had way better. Overpriced for little amounts of food. Definitely not going back. read more

Service was slowish, which was only an issue because I was with three friends anxious to get home at the tail end of five day vacation in central OR. Probably not a problem if you are a local. In their defense, there was a "currently hiring" sign in the window. Our poor server was taking care of everything by the looks of it, yet he still managed to check in on us several times. The food, however, was amazing!!! I had a three meat combo with Brisket, pulled chicken, and pulled pork, as well as bacon mashers and coleslaw. I would be anxious to try The Extravaganza if I am ever here again. The barbecue at Baldy's is excellent. They have daily specials and I only like to go in on Tuesdays and Thursdays for their rib special. The ribs are so tender and great flavor. I have started resorting to take out even though it is more expensive on the specials. The restaurant is small and cramped. The furniture although rustic and interesting is very hard and uncomfortable and I have been ignored and had rude waitresses more than once (service can also be very slow). If it was all about the food I would highly recommend Baldys. read more

I enjoy a good bit of bbq and Baldy's won't disappoint. It's not my favorite place of all times but it's the best I know of in central Oregon. It's a bit spendy for the most part BUT if you get the 4 meat combo it's plenty for 2 and even three people to share which then makes it quite affordable. The sides are all pretty good. Nothing super special to point out besides the fries which are pretty darn good. The beer selection could use a boost especially given the outstanding breweries here in central Oregon. From the minute we walked into Baldy's, we felt welcome and comfortable. Our server (I believe her name was Tasha) was a delight! She was friendly, attentive, and sincere. We ordered chicken wings as an appetizer and honestly they were the best food we had. Our meals were decent portion sizes, but a bit lacking. The burgers were definitely over cooked, and some of the meat was on the dry side. The Spicy Chipotle Potato Salad had excellent flavor, though it was a bit undercooked. Service was fast, attentive, friendly, and overall just about perfect. We got seated right away, got our drinks after only a minute or two, and had our food just minutes after that. We ordered the extravaganza. It was advertised as feeding 2-3 people. I'm not sure which 2-3 people they are talking about, this thing is HUGE! Me, my wife, and 9 year old son finished almost half of it. After the impressive service and portion size, you expect the food to be great, and it did not disappoint. Possibly the best barbecue I've ever had. I've had brisket in Texas, ribs in Memphis, pulled pork in South Carolina, and chicken in nearly all of those. This place meets or beats all of them. I have never reviewed a restaurant before in my life, but after tonight's disappointment, I feel compelled. I have waited patiently for the opening of the Baldy's in their new location on SW 6th in Redmond. I ordered take out tonight (4/9/18). When I got there, I was very impressed with the job they did remodeling the old Fireside. It looks really great inside. The little gal that helped me was very pleasant. I had ordered the two meat combo (Turkey and Brisket) for $15. When I got home and opened the styrofoam box, I was appalled at the paltry amount of meat. There were two deli thin slices of turkey and three very small, very fatty pieces of beef that didn't resemble brisket. There was maybe 6 oz. of meat, and it didn't taste good. The cornbread was excellent, as was the coleslaw. I won't be back. I will warn my friends and family. read more

We went to the Redmond Baldy's today at 12:30. At 1:00 Iasked the waitress if our food would be out soon. At 1:20, our food still had not arrived. I asked to speak with a manager, and was told it would be a few minutes. We got up to leave (without eating) and the manager followed us out saying we had only been waiting 20 minutes. I love Baldy's in Redmond. I try to have a meal there whenever I'm in Redmond. I especially go if it is a Friday or Saturday evening. They serve the best prime rib dinner I've ever eaten. The prime rib is a good size cut and served with a nice assortment of sides. Prime rib has a delectable rub and is tender. I've also had their broken top sandwich, which is an open faced sandwich of half pulled pork, half brisket. Very good. My only confusion is that one time they may put coleslaw on the sandwich the next time not. The consistency tends to waver. I agree that the pulled pork is sometimes bland. Needs a little more flavor. The brisket is very good. There is an assortment of sauces to put on your food from mild to hot. Depending on your bbq experience this is a very good place to get bbq in the Redmond/Bend area. If there is one complaint I would make is I wish the Redmond store was bigger. It's to small for the amount of business they get. Sometimes diners pile up at the door waiting to be seated. read more

Baldy's is good. It definitely takes care of the BBQ itch. The jalapeño corn bread was hard as a rock, so I couldn't eat it. I've read several reviews that say there is a lot of food in each order. But maybe because I order to go I haven't experienced that. I paid $30.00 for 2 dinners that I felt were very light on the meat. However the meat that I did get was good. So maybe I'll have to dine in one day to see if there is a difference. read more

Food was a solid four! But the service was a 1. Waitress stopped by to ask if we were ready for our check before we even got our food. We waited 45 minutes for our bbq. It was great once we got it but no- one stopped to check how we were doing or to refill drinks the entire time. When she brought us our check, she didn't ask if we needed boxes.
