On a recent visit to Denver I made the trek out to Bakery Four from downtown Denver and my only regret was not ordering more pastries because they all looked delicious. You can tell everything is baked fresh, and the variety of baked goods, both savory and sweet, make this spot a must try. Saw some folks also picking up loaves of bread and baguettes which all looked great and crusty. I appreciate that they lay out all the pastries for you to see, so you know exactly what you're going to get. Everything looks incredible and it tastes incredible. I had the strawberry vanilla custard danish and the morning bun. The danish was delicious, and you can tell it was not sitting out for too long because the bottom didn't get soggy, as danishes sometimes do when they've been sitting with filling or custard for too long. The star for me though was the morning bun, which had a crispy flaky outside but as you eat more of the bun you reach the cinnamon butter paste inside that adds so much flavor. Often morning buns don't have that so they often end up dry for my taste. They have a cold fridge with various tubs of cream cheeses at a reasonable $7 a tub as well as some drinks. read more

Wow! Let's just say, I have a degree in baking ...so I know my baked goods . My sister brought a few items from this bakery and oh my godness they sure know what their doing. I was lucky enough to try a chocolate croissant, regular croissant, baguette, and egg sandwich. Crossiants are so hard to make, especially in Colorado where it's high altitude and dry. But man these are flaky, so flaky, light, crispy, soft, and chocolately all in one! The baguette is crispy and had a great crumb inside. I can only speak for togo items here, since I didn't go in person. But I am super impressed, and can't wait to try it another time. Top 5 bakeries in Denver that I've tried 100% read more

Worth the wait! Came here on a Sunday hankering for something sweet then pivoted to the savory route for their egg sandwiches. They use croissant bread (?!) the most perfect fluffy eggs...one: with perfectly crispy bacon and cheese (added sriracha mayo) & two: Caramelized onions, tomatoes and arugula...(added sun-dried tomato spread.) UNBELIEVABLY good. We got two sweet treats to go. The chocolate croissant was huge and you can really taste the quality of the butter, fab lamination and the other pastry was like a danish put in a muffin tin with this vanilla bean custard that reminded me of creme brûlée. Would go here again in a heartbeat to try it all! read more

After hearing raving reviews about Bakery Four, I had to give it a try. I went on a Saturday morning, so I joined the line that was already forming outside by 7:15 am (they open at 8 but sell out quickly on weekends). In addition to their classic croissants and morning buns, they have seasonal flavors/pastries that are always changing- you can find their menu on their Instagram stories or they set a chalkboard outside of the bakery. The bakery is small and because of COVID precautions they were only letting one customer/group inside at a time, but they're so efficient and the line moves quickly! I got a butter croissant, chocolate croissant, morning bun, a seasonal danish (raspberry lemon), and a loaf of bread. Their pastries are so light and buttery, very crisp on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. The morning bun had so many lovely spices and a great hint of citrus. The loaf was delicious on its own, but also made great sandwiches and croutons. There's a reason why there's always a line outside of the bakery and why they sell out so fast- they're just so dang good! I follow their Instagram page so I can get a heads up on new flavors, and can't wait to try more creations! read more

Bakery Four - Top, left to right: Chocolate croissant, seasonal danish. Bottom, left to right: butter croissant, morning bun. - Bakeries Near Me - Denver, Colorado

Tried the cruffin this time after seeing so much about it on their Instagram and it was awesome! Definitely worth it and the croissant was great as always. Everything is made with sourdough, yet their pastries are so incredibly flaky I have no idea how they do it. I'm definitely a pastry connoisseur and they are the real deal. It's in a great location on Tennyson street and there is always free parking in the area. They also have a great selection of gourmet products in the fridge and awesome food books!! Highly recommend! read more

Outstanding freshly baked pastries, many that you won't often find elsewhere. There's a line but it moves along reasonably well; the gals behind the counter move fast and are also very friendly. Absolutely worth the wait. If I lived in Denver I'd go here often, but alas I live 1000 miles away. They also roast coffee here that they sell in bags. Highly recommend! read more

Great bakery in the Tennyson area This place always has a really long line so I recommend showing up a few minutes before opening or really late. You can expect to be in line for about 20 minutes but it's definitely worth it. They're not a lot of bakeries of this caliber in Denver. They put a lot of tear into their food items and experience. I recommend getting monkey bread and the croissant. The coffee is pretty standard. read more

Bakery Four - Bakeries Near Me - Denver, Colorado

On New Year's day last year, I made it a point to eat healthy, and we all saw how 2020 went, so I figured New Year's Day this year, the best thing I could do was check out Bakery Four and all of its fattening, buttery goodness. WOW. I got in line at around 7:30 AM and got to the front of the bakery at 8:25. There were about 15 parties ahead of me in line. Everybody in line was wearing a mask and standing 6 feet apart. When I made it into the bakery, everything on the menu was still available (even bread!) and nothing had sold out yet. I got a pain au chocolat and a morning bun. Too good. I'm not a croissant connoisseur, but I was impressed, and these pastries have officially created some very high standards in my book. Both were delicious, but the combination of flavors in the morning bun was life changing. Check Bakery Four's instagram for their updated menu each week. Honestly it is a great thing that snagging a pastry requires sacrificing sleeping in on the weekend, because otherwise I would find myself inhaling Bakery Four's pastries every Fri, Sat, and Sun! read more

This is not a bakery that can be chosen on a whim. It is only open three days a week for two hours and that's if they don't sell out before the two hour mark. I'd been wanting to come for a couple weeks now and today ended up being the day. I got there 15 minutes before opening and figured the line would be manageable. What I did not expect was a line down the street and around the block. It was quite cold and the total wait time was a touch over an hour. I was so happy that I got the second to last lemon cruffin and the morning buns. The bread too was an unexpected score and it ended up being my favorite thing. The pastry is well made with an almost perfect lamination. The outside is crisp with a tender inside. The morning bun had just a hint of orange and the right amount of cinnamon. The hubs really enjoyed his lemon cruffin and his morning bun as well. I cut into the bread and it was still warm with a really nice chew and well developed sourdough crumb. This is definitely a treat all the way around so if you have some time to spare on a weekend, I'd highly recommend it! read more

This bakery is nothing short of amazing and owned by good people. They constantly surprise with new and unique creations, catering to every craving--whether you're in the mood for something sweet or salty, they've got it all. If you're wondering whether the line is worth it, the answer is a resounding yes! For those lucky enough to live nearby, there's nothing better than grabbing fresh bread for the week. The staff is wonderful, and there's a fantastic park just across the street where the kids can play while you enjoy your treats. Speaking of treats, my kids are obsessed with the monkey bread and the pepperoni pastries--they're absolutely fantastic. It's a yes, yes, yes from us--this place is a must-visit! *** only item they can work on is get some local art in the place and spruce it up a bit locally. But I'm not there for the vibes 100% for the great eats! Awesome stuff read more

Bakery Four has some of the best, if not the best, pastry available in Denver. What makes them so great is their high quality ingredients. They use French butter, Valrhona chocolate, fresh cardamom pods, etc. which take their pastries to another level. My personal favorites are the morning bun (which is beautifully scented with citrus to offset the generous sugar coating) and cardamom bun (with a deliciously spicy cardamom flavor from fresh cardamom pods). The croissants are also perfectly flakey. Most of their menu is the same each week, except for a few seasonal items. Get a box so you can try them all! Bakery Four is open 8am-1pm Thurs-Sun. Lines begin to form around 7:30am so go early if you want don't want to wait for long. That being said, I've never waited longer than 30 min from end of line to counter and they continue to bake throughout the morning so you don't have to worry about supply running out. read more

Love the breads, the pastries, the coffee is good. Be prepared for a line, but worth it. Just yummy every time.

Hands down worth the wait! I arrived around 9:45 and got out by 10:30 on a Sunday morning so really not too bad. Now for the stars of the show...I ordered their morning bun, pain au chocolat, peach cream cruffin, and veggie breakfast sandwich! Im not lying when I say that they were all amazing, but the favorite out of all is definitely the MORNING BUN! I highly recommend checking out Bakery Four and getting yourself a whole box of goodies because you're going to want more once you're done with one read more

Just wow! One of the most affordable and delectable bakeries in denver! In a quaint spot on Tennyson. Well organized with staff helping with drinks, pastries and checkout so the line moves quick. This place is AMAZING. I got the thanksgiving pastry box, which was a surprise assortment, and my family and I were swooning over it. I'm typically a savory in the morning person, but their cinnamon roll had me changing my mind. It was to die for. The ham and cheese croissant was right up my alley. Loved it all and will be bringing back visitors. read more

Stopped in after hearing about this place and the staff is amazing. The pastries are on point. I have not had one I haven't liked yet. The only disappointment is the coffee it's got a sour aftertaste and it's part of the notes from the company they're using Had their sandwich, which was the ham and cheese, which was really good looking forward to having some of their others read more

Curse myself for forgetting to take pictures of the actual pastries after greedily devouring them! The interior is so cute I feel like I can study there for hours. The bread and pastries themselves are so high-quality and tasty, it's the type where people would camp out hours early before they open just so they can have first dips on the variety of breads they have. By the time I got there, there was still a few to choose from but not nearly as much as there would have been if I went there earlier. I definitely need to come back next time to try what other goodies they have! read more

If I were to judge them just by the pastries and bread, they'd get a 5. And, we maybe should just judge bakeries on their carbs ...... but over the years it's become a trustworthy trend for me that the best bakeries also serve darn good coffee (especially mochas, because they choose good chocolate). That is no longer the case at Bakery Four. For a while they were the best mocha I could get in the area. The last two? Devastatingly bad. AM/PM-coffee-bad. I THINK the beans and the chocolate got worse (no more Valrhona?) .... but it's honestly hard to tell because every aspect of the drinks has been so fantastically weak. Could all this be blamed on a new barista? Maybe. But it's on the bakery to QC this stuff. Two bad drinks in a row isn't a fluke. When that happens at a coffee shop I might never go back to that place ever again. read more

I finally tried this bakery for the first time since the line is always absolutely insane! I had high hopes, and ordered 4 pastries and a baguette. The pain su chocolat is huge, warm, flaky buttery. The cardamom bread is perfectly flavored and not too sweet at all. The baguette is fantastic too! However, I have to remove one star because the way they put my pastries in the bag, my three croissants are totally squished and flattened :( (the cardamom roll did hold up though) read more

My husband loves pastries so we indulged...our daughter has been raving about this spot since it was a pop up and the pastries lived up to the hype. The morning bun, the almond fragiapane, and the vanilla spanauer were all delicious. There were so many other ones to try that we will have to go back. Clean atmosphere and fun to watch the pastries being made next door. Servers keep it moving as it's very popular! read more

Bakery Four - Three yummy pastries! - Bakeries Near Me - Denver, Colorado

One of my favorite bakeries in Denver. Their pastries are rich, and consistent in taste. Their bagels are also amazing, so I'm glad they've opened rich spirit. I've also tried their dinner, which was amazing. Everything is fresh, and it deserves the long lines it gets. My only critique is that it's not the best place for coffee and drinks, but it's not supposed to be what they're known for anyway. I'd recommend grabbing a drink from MOB or Huckleberry if you're there anyway. read more

Congrats to Bakery Four on their new location! I have been waiting to try the morning buns forever, but never made it to the previous location. Unfortunately they did not have them today, but I was able to get a few donuts and bagel. Everything was fresh and chewy! The line mid morning during the week was insane! Surely the baked goods would be legendary to warrant such fan fare? Just the blue berry and cream cheese filled croissant muffin... the spinach scone was dry as a sandy beach, and crumbled like sand... the chocolate croissant was burned and 95% air... Maybe it was a bad day at the bakery but I wouldn't waste my time here again! read more

OMG, the pastries here are unbelievable. Everything has absolutely knocked my socks off, be it a croissant, bread, focaccia, you name it. We get something different every time, and every time it exceeds our expectations. You literally can't go wrong here. Everything I've ordered has been five stars. The line is often out the door, but moves quickly, and there's a nice park just across the street where you can sit a picnic table and enjoy your goodies. I've been back so many times, the only thing that keeps me from eating here daily is my waistline! read more

All the hype about this bakery are legit as are the long lines discussed in other reviews. Pastries and bread are among the best in Denver. Don't let the long lines discourage you, plan ahead and wait it out, you will be rewarded. The chocolate croissant and monkey bread are my favorites, as is the country loaf. Selection varies by day. Friendly staff, fresh ingredients, and a baked to near perfection (no one is perfect). Only complaint is I can't get the egg sandwiches others rave about because I get there too late -- would be great if those were served all morning. read more

I mean, there's a reason the line wraps around this place. I won't say anything that hasn't already been said. Best croissants. Best treats. Best breads. Delicious! I had the Pop-Four and the Morning Bun. Both were delicious and I will be dreaming about how wonderful they were.

Have you ever heard the term, stupid good? I literally went EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. we were in town... it was stupid good! The Morning Bun is beyond words, the Monkey Bread - no words, the 1/2 sourdough loaf.. stop it!! Dough is my love language and I couldn't get enough! read more

Baguette was the best I've ever had- hearty, crunchy, fresh, good chew, and moist on the inside. (Tried one of their sandwiches). I would definitely come back and grab a few of the full baguettes for $6. Main downside was there were not many savory pastries. There was one ham & cheese from what I could tell. And they no longer sell bagels at this location. Sounded like they do so at a new bagel location. Not sure where that is. We tried a number of pastries over the past year and have never been disappointed. Expect it to be busy, and to run out of things throughout the day. Seating is more for a quick bite than for having our with friends. Looked at their flour as I was exiting and one of the bags was from Vienna- impressed by the higher quality choice. read more

This place is awesome!!!! You have to get there early but totally worth the wait! I got to the bakery about 45 min early 7:15am and the line was not bad, but if you waited later the line wraps around the block. Once the door opens the line moves through fairly quickly. They have a great staff inside and ready to help. I have been twice now and my favorite thing to order is the morning bun. It is a cinnamon roll but better. That being said I don't think anything that comes out of this kitchen/bakery is less than phenomenal! Keep up the good work and we will be back very soon! read more
