I finally made it to Bakery Four!! I met some coworkers for breakfast today and was salivating at all of the choices - I ended up getting a box of five items - pain au chocolate (perfectly flaky and good quality chocolate), a ham and cheese croissant, a strawberry rhubarb tea cake, a peach poptart (the flakiness and dough were tasty, could have used more filling), and a danish (saving that for breakfast tomorrow). We showed up right at 8AM when it opened, and the line was already forming and super long by the time we made our way to the counter! I also got a chai that was tasty, had a good amount of spice to it but not too much. The aesthetic of the space was nice too - they had on display all of their breakfast pastry offerings so it was nice to see how everything looked before ordering it. For a chai latte and 5 pastries, it was $30 pre-tip which honestly was more reasonable then I was expecting. Will definitely come back! read more

I finally found the best croissant bakery so far in Colorado. I have been to many and they just miss the mark. I'm actually impressed with these three pastries in my photo. They are very big! Be ready to be full. The size of the croissant was bigger than my hand! The line wasn't too long. Reasonable in price for its location. You have to get there early for their breakfast sandwich. They sold out when we got there around 9. No worries! There was plenty of seating but be prepared on the weekend for large families. I noticed there were a lot of babies and toddlers with strollers. No worries, but be prepared for noise. Customer service was awesome! They are quick and will answer any questions that you have. I can't wait to come back! read more

There was a line before the doors opened. Popular place. Nice location across from a park w playground. Also enjoyed a hot pasty from next door at the Pasty Republic. Morning bun (4/5)- the pastry had a nice texture, but was completely covered in sugar. Our little one loved it for that reason. We did not and not too big on orange zest. Lemon whip brioche (3/5)- I didn't enjoy this one. It was more than half in bread and was dense. The lemon whip was lightly sweetened but nothing special. Almond frangipane (5/5)- crunchy, lots of almonds, and the almond paste was delicious. Croissant (5/5)- Crunchy, flaky, buttery. What's not to like. Matcha latte (4/5)- I liked the strong matcha flavor but too pricey for $5.5+$1 oat milk. read more

Incredible baguette and pastry! The lemon cream in the pastry was to die for!!! Not too sweet and the perfect essence of lemon! I wish I had gotten 2! The baguette was just as mouth watering; crispy outside and chewy inside. You've got to get here early though, the line grows quicker than weeds and for good reason! It's not set up great to keep the line from getting confusing but people will let you know the flow. The staff are busy friendly bees and also keep the line moving. It's not cheap but I think the prices are more than fair for the outstanding quality. If you're dining in it's bright and open but not your quiet coffee shop. I can't wait to go back! So happy they're close by! read more

Very busy but consistent and caring bakery. Love the ladies up front who always make the experience enjoyable.

My kids love this place...so much so that they uber over at 9 in the morning from Southern Denver. I thought they were crazy....but oh how I was wrong. Their baked goods are insanely good. The layers of light crispy dough. Fantastic quality of ingredients: Fresh strawberries, zesty Cardamom, floral lavender. Unique products: Loved the pop-tart, crazy good cruffin, unique Danish. Lines are crazy long with hipsters on the weekends but it is worth it ....trust me. Grab a chai at Huckleberry roasters! read more

The pastries are amazing at Bakery Four, but I come here for the sandwiches. They start serving sandwiches at 1030 and they are routinely out within 20 - 30 minutes. Better inventory planning is needed. read more

Just superb bread, which is hard to come by in Denver. The best baguette in town. The croissant is pretty good--not the best I've had in town, but top 10%. Highish but fair prices. read more

If I could give this a 10/5 I would!! Arrived about 30 minutes after open and it was packed with a line - some things already sold out! I recommend getting there early if you can. Blows my mind all products are sourdough and done extremely well. The croissant reminded me of ones I've had in France! Very clean, lots of seating, light, bright, open. I cannot wait to visit and get more goodies!!! read more

This has got to be my favorite bakery in Denver. This is the best chocolate croissant you will every have - hands down. It's got MELTY chocolate in it, and it's just so buttery. It's making my mouth water just thinking about it. Honestly though, all of their pastries are just so good, you really can't go wrong. I've heard great things about the sandwiches too, but have always been there at the wrong time - one day!! read more

Amazing almond croissant ever. It's got a nice great crust on the outside with a delicious sweet gooey center that is out of this world.

This is my all time favorite bakery. They have the best chocolate croissant I've ever had. I will wait in this line every Sunday just to get one it's that good! I've had a few other pastries and nothing lives up to the chocolate croissant. The coffee is eh. read more

Must try when youre in Denver!! All the pastries were buttery, crispy, & & just overall delicious. Our party of 3 naturally decides to get a mixture 6 or 7 to try. All were delicious. Enough said. Bakery Four is such a cute bakery in the highlands. I enjoyed everything I got! I do think that it is a little overhyped and overpriced for what you get but everything is expensive nowadays haha AI ended up getting the strawberry danish, money bread, and garlic herb knot. Strawberry danish - 6/10 but only because was a little burnt. That overwhelmed some of the other tastes. But the berries were fresh and delicious! Money bread - 10/10 sooo delicious and will definitely be returning to get it again! Garlic herb knot- 9/10 also very good and loved the savory pastry! The staff was very nice! You will want to arrive early as there is always a line! There is plenty of street parking nearby! read more

My husband loves pastries so we indulged...our daughter has been raving about this spot since it was a pop up and the pastries lived up to the hype. The morning bun, the almond fragiapane, and the vanilla spanauer were all delicious. There were so many other ones to try that we will have to go back. Clean atmosphere and fun to watch the pastries being made next door. Servers keep it moving as it's very popular! read more

I'm a Bakery Four hype woman and their biggest fan girl. Their pastries are out of this world. You want the best chocolate chip cookie your taste buds have ever had the pleasure of trying? Look no further. You want the flakiest croissant on planet earth? You're covered here. Want something unique and decadent and creamy? You guessed it. HERE. I inhaled 3 pastries on the way home and had to ask my neighbor to take a photo of her box for photo evidence of this masterpiece!! It's pretty busy, but so worth it- promise! Also while you're waiting in line you can check out their cream cheeses, butters, and merch! I have all three and go back for more every. Single. Time. Will I go back for lunch today? Most likely! read more

Listen, I've made this big ass line several times and I never have any regrets. Even before they sold coffee I made the line to get goodies and proceeded to get coffee elsewhere. Every pastry I've had here has been next level. I know nothing about baked goods but I do know this stuff is absolutely delicious. The freshest, most delicious breads that just taste like they where made with pure love. The breakfast sandwiches are UNREAL - worth every minute spent standing there. Fluffy egg, fancy ass bacon and fresh brioche. Omg. I really hope that as these guys gain popularity and expand their business they continue to keep their quality so that we can continue to enjoy it. read more

I came here twice when visiting Denver. I came on Wed morning and then again Saturday morning before I flew out. Would definitely recommend weekdays since the saturday morning I did have to wait in a line that the staff worked hard to move fast but on Wednesday morning I had zero line. There was also plenty of seating available and felt like a good place to hangout on wednesday morning. I've tried the: - French onion croissant - key lime cruffin - gochujang garlic knot - pain au chocolat - cardamom bun Out of the sweet goods, I loved the cardamom bun. I've found a lot of cardamom goods sometimes don't bring out the best or struggle to balance it right but this was not too sweet, flaky, and hit the right spot. The pain au chocolat was solid, the layers were extremely flaky and i enjoyed picking at the layers. I enjoyed both savory goods. The french onion croissant is extremely addicting for me as I love onions and again the layers were chef's kiss I also did really enjoy the gochujang garlic knot for the form and garlicky factor. My one caveat is that the gochujang felt mild and I think more of it could've been used, but it was still a great pastry. I'll be back here again when visiting Denver. read more

Viennoiserie of my dreams We visited at around 10am on a Saturday, line wraps around the inside of the store and we waited about 10 minutes to get in front of the line. Ordered a bunch of pastries and love all of them. They also have drip, iced coffee and kombucha from a Boulder based brand too - Rowdy Mermaid I think. One small con is that a lot of the pastries err on the side of overbaked, its very flaky and yummy but a bit bitter from the dark burn. * Plain croissants: 9/10 my friend really likes them * Pain au chocolat: 8.5/10 (decent size, has delicious chocolate filling, I dont know what types of chocolate baton they use but it tastes like really high quality dark chocolate) * Garlic herb knot: 8.5/10 signae says it has garlic confit, oregano, rosemary, gryuere, cheddar cheese... tastes very herby and delicious, I love the cheesey flavors, the flakiness was amazing too, however it was a bit burned :/ * Strawberry poptart (8.5/10): a little thicker than standard poptarts but tastes really good nevertheless, the strawberry jam center was good balance of sweet and tart, the outer layer was crunchy too. I really like it * Morning bun: 8/10 good but a bit too sweet from my friend's comment There are a lot of indoor seating and a few tables out too, there is a park across the street to sit and people watch on a nice day too if that's your thing. Such a relaxing experience, I love it :) read more

Bakery four lives up to the hype!! We tried the monkey bread, buffalo chicken danish and the sausage roll. Monkey bread was so cinnamon-y not overly sweet and had a delicious icing. I wish it was more gooey like traditional monkey bread but it was amazing nonetheless - a must get! The sausage roll was so good and flavorful and a great savory option! Buffalo chicken danish was perfectly flakey with hints of blue cheese and tangy buffalo sauce. This was tasty but not a must get again for me! Everything was very flakey and buttery and soft - incredible pastries! Can't believe we waited so long to try. Be prepared to wait and wait and wait! We came around 9:30 on a Saturday morning and the line was already wrapped to the front door but it was well worth the wait! There's a park right across with tables if you can't get seating inside or on their patio! read more

Bakery Four is a super popular bakery off Tennyson! I can totally see why... it's quite a treat! Just be prepared to wait to grab your baked goods. This is not a spot for a quick pit stop. But, it's worth the wait. I tried the garlic herb knot, olive fougasse, monkey bread, and matcha with oat milk this time around! This is not my first rodeo at Bakery Four, but I have found my two most favorite items this round that have beaten out all of the other times, so let me dish the tea! Olive Fougasse for my savory babes! Monkey Bread for my sweet babes! I cannot rave these two enough. I took my goods home and dipped my olive fougasse in an oil and balsamic vinegar mixture I concocted and let me just tell you... I could eat my body weight in this snack! The monkey bread is decadent. It rides the border of potentially being too sweet and buttery... but is it? NO WAY! It's absolute bliss in every bite. I also love the little crispy ends you get to bite into as well. It's fun! I don't think I would order the garlic knot again, it just didn't hit as hard for me, but the inside and webbing of the perfectly puffed pastry is beautiful. Flavor-wise, it tasted mostly of egg for me. Matcha was a matcha and was great to wash the treats down with! I'll definitely be back. My two faves await my return after all! Cheers! read more

Wow, the pastries here are some of the best that I've had in all of Denver! Most weekends, there is a line zigzagging through the restaurant, and sometimes out the door for their breakfast items. When you approach the check out counter, they have a display case of everything that is available. my friends and I tried both sweet and savory and all the options were delicious. There are tables inside of the bakery they stay full and turnover quickly. Because of that, they usually aren't the cleanest with crumbs left behind. There is a park right across the street. That is also nice to have a small picnic in. Parking is just in the neighborhood and can sometimes be a bit of a pain to find. The take away don't let the long lines scare you away. Their pastries are well worth the wait. read more

Be prepared to wait, but know that the wait is worth it! Open Thursday-Sunday, Bakery Four has a slew of fresh pastries to choose from. I came here an hour before closing on a weekday (no wait and super easy parking!) and they were out of bagels :( so sad but fortunately they were stocked with so many other treats!! I got the ham and cheese croissant, cardamom bun, chocolate orange scone, and monkey bread. The croissant had the perfect flakey texture and tasted so so good. I think it would've been nice to have a little more ham inside but nonetheless, it was amazing. I absolutely loved the monkey bread as well, it's a popular item for a reason! I loved how easily it pulled apart, and the sweetness definitely hit the spot. The cardamom bun and orange chocolate scone were good, but nothing too out of the ordinary. I NEED to come back here for the bagels someday.. hopefully soon!! Loved this bakery and the vibes inside were amazing as well, tons of seating to relax and enjoy your pastries :) read more

This bakery is exquisite. Their pastries are incredible (spandauer, morning buns, croissants, muffins), not too sweet and their breads are crispy, moist and airy. I really wanted to love Bakery Four, especially with all the fantastic reviews. But my first bites weren't great. Thankfully I ordered a drink and a second pastry which made up for the not so great strawberry danish. My husband wanted a danish so I ordered a strawberry danish for him (knowing we'd probably share) and I got myself monkey bread. I also ordered an iced coffee and a latte. We did indeed share both pastries and thankfully the monkey bread was just delightful because had we just gotten the strawberry danish I'd only be giving 2 stars. The strawberry danish was slightly doughy at the base so I don't think it got completely baked. The cream/custard inside the danish was also clumpy and not appetizing at all. So for the price of everything I'm not sure I'll be back anytime soon. read more

Great bakery, cares about their community and is always trying new and innovative things. I would move mountains to get one of their garlic herb knots. The croissants are also delicious as I was ridiculous enough to think that most anything else they bake is going to last past 11am. That is how good they are. Get there early and they will have all the wonders available. The later you are the smaller the selection gets, but the quality is exactly the same. Each item has its own allure! Love this place so much and I have only been twice! read more

I've been waiting for Bakery Four to open their huge new storefront on Tennyson and be able to take a morning stroll to it from my house! The weekend lines have been looking a bit out of control (I hear they're about 2 hours long during peak time), so I waited for a Thursday where I had a gap between meetings. Got there around 9:30 and left shortly before 10:00 - got a morning bun, cardamom bun, croissant, and sourdough loaf. All of the items were delicious, I can't pick a favorite! As an amateur sourdough baker, I appreciate the quality of this country loaf and the open crumb it achieved compared to some other loaves (high altitude baking is no easy feat!). Will definitely add this to my favorites and visit during off peak days/hours. It gives off very Tartine vibes with both the quality, hype, and large storefront where you can sometimes catch the baking in action from the window :) read more

Oh my goodness. This bakery is sheer perfection. The baguette, croissant, and brownie (the latter was reminiscent of a flourless chocolate cake - so buttery and rich!) were 10/10. I am the pickiest of all pickiest and this place has my heart. Cannot recommend enough. If you're a baked goody snob like me, you will not be disappointed. Come early for best selection. read more

I must first warn you that the lines here can get crazy long, however, it is so worth it! Parking can be a hassle but whatever, do NOT let either discourage you from visiting this wonderful bakery. Menu items may change on a weekly basis but I'm sure they keep some of the most popular items on the menu. Items like their sausage rolls and croissants. I tried an herb croissant and it was super buttery, flaky and pure deliciousness. The sausage roll was amazing even though it was cold. I can only imagine how tasty it is warm right out of the oven. The pan au chocolate was also buttery and delicious. The chocolate inside was more on the bitter side as opposed to the sweet side which I think, made the whole thing better. Friendly staff, the line did move quickly too. Next time, I won't go for the flavored coffee though, just regular coffee. After tasting all the different flavors, my vanilla coffee tasted wonky so go figure. If you are local, I would strongly recommend getting a few items and heating them up at home and then, enjoy them! They are soo good!! read more

Yummy. Came on a Wednesday, late morning. Only a couple people in line. Enjoyed the garlic herb knot and "crunch berry cereal milk cruffin". Don't be deterred by the line! It can be long, give yourself some time, but it moves quickly! Avoid Sundays though, only 2 people working and it's an even longer line. The pastries are delicious and I believe they are now set up to serve coffee drinks as well. The space is clean and the patio is nice, though I probably wouldn't opt to sit indoors as the line snakes around the tables and it feels like a fishbowl. Follow them on Instagram for the menu the day before. Both times we went they had not run out of anything by the time we got there late morning. My favorite has to be the croissant au jambon (savory, buttery, deliciousness), the monkey bread is a close second if I'm looking for sweet. You won't be disappointed!! read more

OMG, we finally went for the first time yesterday and I'm so disappointed we waited this long to go! Every single item we got was incredible, I understand why there's the hype that there is. By far my favorite item was the pepperoni roll, I'll be getting that next time for sure! We got there around 7:57 and the line was already really long and snaking throughout the restaurant. My understanding is they run out of things if you go too late after opening - and so I do wish that there wasn't that time constraint as I'm not always up that early on the weekends. Inside was super modern and cute, but we chose to sit on the patio and it was a really great ambiance out there. Already can't wait until next time! read more

My favorite pastry they have that is a must try is the morning bun, not to decadent but the perfect level of sweetness and croissant/cinnamon sugar roll that is the perfect mix of flaky with a soft core. Also their sandwiches are literally the best deli style sandwiches I have had. Specifically the veggie one is so good. The fresh cream cheese balanced with the olive tapenade and sun dried tomatoes/onions/cucumbers paired with their artisanal baguette is quite literally the best cold/deli style veggie sandwich I have had.
