Egg tart, Coconut Lotus Bun, Oreo Bun, Butter cookies
    Amber N.

There was only one employee in the store and I was the only customer but they didn't say hello or offer help so not the best with service. Many of the pastries they offer seem very bread forward-- bun-like breads with some type of cream, fruit, and/or other flavor inside or on top. Overall, the experience was just okay. Coconut lotus bun (4/5)-- The lotus was a new flavor for me so I enjoyed having the nutty flavor inside with the coconut outside. Oreo bun (2/5)-- The cream inside was not very sweet so it didn't provide the Oreo/cookies and cream flavor that I expect I liked it but it was not what I expected . Egg tart (3/5)-- This was on the side with the sweet pastries but it was not sweet. I liked it but I think it belongs on the savory side. It gave the vibe of scrambled egg or quiche with crust. I expected more of an egg custard vibe. It is probably best for breakfast. Butter cookies 4/5-- These were prepackaged crispy cookies with the simple, yet delicious flavor that you expect from butter cookies.

Egg tarts are lifeeee - They make a pretty good one here at bakery 1908 , sweet fluffy egg with a flaky buttery crust it's been a staple for me since I was a kid. Get one it will make you happy

Sweet Buns is a fantastic place to go to when you want to study or grab a cute bun. It's one of my favorite places to buy buns and the cream as well as the custard are freshly made. The buns taste incredibly fresh, and my favorites are the fruits. The savory buns kind of all do taste the same. I will say that when you do go inside the cafe. The smell of the oil from the buns can cling to clothes.

Good price. Good food. Good options. Breads are on the sweeter side. Their Portuguese egg tart is delicious. Plenty of seats. Big place. Quick service

We really enjoyed Bakery 1908 today in Tampa. We tried the red bean bun, chocolate bun, and the small bakery cheesecake. Everything was delicious. So lite and tasty. The red bean surprisingly was my favorite. My daughter's favorite was the cheesecake. We will defiantly be back.

I love Sweet Buns Bakery so much. I first discovered this chain in Gainesville, FL and I fell in love immediately. The Tampa sweet buns is just as good too. We had these sweet red bean and almond buns as our dessert. The buns were picked up at the end of the day, and they were still so soft and yummy. The bakery is a very cute too, a spot for computer work, or catching up with a friend over some delish and fluffy buns.

With the cake packaged like this with an additional layer of plastic film on the outside my cake will be completely ruined. Plus, I'm giving this as a gift it looks absolutely terrible like this, almost as if they were my leftovers.

This place is a great stop, everytime we're in the USF area we have to stop by Sweet Buns. I never get tired of seeing all the delicious buns! So many different types and I just want to try them all. This visit we got the chocolate bun and buttercream bun and a pork floss and a Napoleon. So good they do have seating to the right inside so we ate two there and brought the others home. I did visit on a day it was incredibly warm inside maybe they had the heat on high but we didn't stay long. Hopefully it's not like that anymore:)

I was in Tampa visiting for work, and I saw this place online and decided to pop in and bring a few treats back home. I'm so glad I did. Cute family owned shop and the concept is wonderful, as well as easy. such a beautiful selection of SO many sweet & savory pastries. they don't just look beautiful, they taste flavorful, fluffy, and you can tell they're all made with love. for both these trays and 5 items from their cooler, i only spent $55. Other bakeries could never! I had such a lovely experience here.

Loved the vibe and variety. Albeit not super friendly, but helpful. The egg tart was a little under to me, but I still enjoyed it.

Ask the Community - Bakery 1908

Do they sell 8-10" birthday cakes? Can they be ordered online?

Sweet buns do offer four types of cakes: cream and fruit (two layers of sponge cake plus a layer of cream and fruits in between), cheesecake, mousse cake, and crepe cakes!…

Is this related to Sweet Buns in Gainesville?

    Do they sell milk bread?

No, they don't. The only place I have found that sells milk bread is in Brandon....Zimo Bakery near the Brandon MD Oriental store

Do they still sell their hot food in the kitchen?

I don't think so... I did not see it on the menu the last time I was there. Not on their website any longer, either.

Do they make decorated birthday cookie cakes?

Sweet Buns do not make cookie cakes. However, Sweet Buns do offer cream fruit cakes, cheesecakes, mousse cakes, and crepe cakes!

Do they have any gluten free options?

No. Traditional Asian bakery doesn't do much of the gluten free stuff.

What is the price range on the full size cakes?

Price range depends on the type of cake (cream fruit, cheesecake, mousse cake, or crepe cake), its size (8 in, 10 in, 12 in, etc.), and any additional charges for extra fillings or special flavors of sponge cakes.…

Do they have any vegan (no dairy, egg, meat) options?

I didn't see any, but the labels are not detailed. Even the packages are not well labeled, which is interesting since there are state & federal legislation on the labeling of foods w/ regard to ingredients, calories, etc.

The inside is a decent size with tables, cute decor and lots of plants. When I first walked in, I was taken back by how beautiful the pastry display cases were!! I had the hardest time choosing which pastry to get because they all looked like works of art!! Super friendly staff, great service but now to get to the goods: the coffee and pasties. This is a true authentic French bakery, no doubt in my mind. The iced salted caramel latte is the best I have EVER had. I could taste every flavor and it blended with the coffee perfectly. The ham and cheese croissant was so flakey, the perfect ham ratio and just all around fantastic. The pastry I got had raspberry jam and white chocolate ganache (I don't remember the name of it) and it was seriously the best pastry I've ever had. Most pastries can be too sweet, but this was just right. The jam tasted fresh and homemade (probably is!) and the white chocolate ganache gave it just a touch of sweetness. It is a little pricey so be warned: $48 for two coffees and two pastries. Definitely worth a splurge!!

Good lamination of the pastry dough with a cream filling made it both a great breakfast or snack treat to share. The pistachio crusted was wonderful. Guava cream even pleased a friend who tried our bounty. Service was pleasant but we didn't interact much since it was boxed and ready to go. When I spoke with the person behind the counter she told me she could make up a few more for me but that it would be about ten minutes or so which I was okay with and glad that she was willing to do so. I told her I would visit the other shops in the plaza and be back. I waited the time and returned only to find out that she was told by someone, the owner or manager that she couldn't make anymore. So I wasted my time and spent unnecessary money on a drink elsewhere to only have that result. I know it wasn't her fault but I thought that was bad customer service. Probably more than a year later, I was down in that area again so I called ahead to see if they had any available. They did so I stopped in and got one. Now, I know Pistachios are expensive but, I do not believe what I got was worth $10.00. Even with my love of Pistachios, I thought that the top of the croissant was too covered with them to make it an enjoyable bite as it was over powered on the half that was covered. The croissant itself was a little over baked as well. I do not remember what flavor I got the first visit but the croissant was properly baked that time. I know there can be off days and maybe I visited on those days given the customer service during the first visit and the over baked goods on the 2nd but I won't rule them out, just won't go out of my way to return either.

Paris Baguette has EVERYTHING I love. Cake. Latte. Bread. Pastries. What more can a woman ask for???!!! I was already swooning over the photos and menu options seen on Yelp and Google, but TASTING is BELIEVING and now I'm so glad that I can say it's everything I hoped it would be. It's like a little piece of Paris right here in Tampa! (I've been). So I've come for cake, stayed for latte and quiche, and because why not, threw in the salad so that lunch and dinner is taken care of, too! Okay, first off...what I got. The quiche is light and airy, and is basically a croissant with quiche filling instead of a quiche slice. I love croissants, so this was a nice treat for me that I could hold in my hand. The Salted Caramel Latte I thought was pretty unique, because yes, there's a PRETZEL on top of it (which I plucked off and ate the first thing when I got it. Tasted rich and delicious, and was a great companion for my food. Now, usually I don't bat so much as an eye for a salad, but that Korean beef salad looked fresh and yummy, and it would definitely take care of dinner for the day because, why not, while I'm out? It was a decent size too, not too filling, with a good variety of veggies such as cukes, carrots, tomatoes, on top of mixed greens with Korean beef, which was the only heavy thing on the salad so you don't feel weighed down. It's great to know if you're watching your waist line or caloric intake, Paris Baguette has you covered with no problem as the nutrition facts are listed on the menu so you can make an informed choice. Of course, their cakes are so good, you wouldn't help but want to indulge. Which brings me to my final point. When I saw MOCHA CAKE on the menu, I thought, OMG I have to have it!!! It's EVERYTHING I could want and more and I must ask WHY ISN'T MOCHA CAKE MORE OF A THING NOW???? The sponge cake was light and airy like a coffee cloud as was the buttercream, not too sweet, rounding out my whole meal in nice elegant, finish. The shop itself is cute, but Muffin and I ate outside since the outside area is dog friendly. It reminds me of those open-air cafes in Europe, especially in Paris, elevating my lunch experience with my dog. The staff is super nice and welcoming on approach, too. It's a bit of a drive for me, but it's really not THAT bad depending on when I go and the business hours help, too. I most recently took my sister here for the first time while we were visiting for a concert and she loved it, too! We started with iced baklava lattes and the greek donuts (loukoumades) drizzled with honey and this was actually my first time have these here. They're served hot and fresh -- absolutely delicious! When I want something light for breakfast, my go-to is the Everything but the Bagel yogurt bowl (house cured wild caught salmon, cucumber, pickled red onion, tomato, crispy capers, & everything seasoning). It's such a fresh gorgeous bowl, packed with protein. I also love their extra thick cut bacon on the side. My sis got the strapatsada which is a breakfast classic on their menu (greek scramble with caramelized onion, roasted cherry tomato, creamy feta, & grilled baguette). It's a very generous portion and she had a good amount leftover to take home. Of course, you can't leave without a few pastries for the road! They are a bakery-first concept and all of their breads and baked goods are made in-house. We got the baklava coffee cake and brioche bread pudding muffin to-go. Psomi never disappoints!

I ordered the shredded chicken salad, and to be fair, the chicken was absolutely delicious. My issue was that it was served over a basic mixed greens salad with very few extras, and paying around $30 for it felt excessive. The loukoumades (Greek donuts) were also delicious, but again, the portion was surprisingly small for about $16. One thing that also frustrates me is that they seem to be out of many of their bakery items first thing in the morning. They do warn customers about this, but it seems to happen consistently, which is disappointing when you're visiting a bakery and hoping for the full selection. The outdoor seating also wasn't the most enjoyable. It was quite loud, the seating wasn't especially comfortable, and there were a lot of flies, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. Overall, the food tasted good, but the value just isn't there for me. I don't mind paying premium prices when the portions, experience, or atmosphere justify it, but I left feeling like I paid far more than what I received.
