Love this place, excellent food and friendly staff. Small place with excellent atmosphere, give them a shot i promise you will come back. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5

So disappointing service. We ordered a Quinceañera cake from this bakery, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing. When we picked up the cake, the staff (Liz) asked if we were traveling far. After we mentioned we were heading to Fletcher, she exchanged a concerned look with another employee. That should have been our first red flag. The cake was placed in our SUV in a very basic cake box. We drove cautiously and slowly, but halfway through our trip the cake collapsed. When we tried to recover it, the entire structure fell apart. This was a three-tier cake with absolutely no internal support--something any professional bakery should know is essential for safe transport. When we returned to the bakery to ask for help, the staff told us there was nothing they could do (with attitude) because the "decorator" was unavailable. Instead of offering a solution they simply gave us her number. We called multiple times, but she never answered. For such an important occasion, this was not only a failure in craftsmanship but also in customer service. The lack of support and the lack of accountability from the bakery left us with a ruined cake and a very frustrating experience. We were not looking for a free cake, we were looking for a bit of help, even an offer of another cake we could buy as this was for a Quinceañera! We went to a different bakery to get a second cake, and when we showed them pictures of the ruined one, they not only helped us but also mentioned that a cake of that size should have had internal support. Edit: A TEXT was received from the staff stating this was OUR fault because we didn't requested delivery service and how they had never had an issue like this with their other cakes... Thank you again for the service...

The Cubano Sandwich was amazing!

I ordered the Cubano sandwich. I ate it at my friend's house and it was amazing! I had two chicken coquitos on the drive and those were devoured within minutes. Highly recommend this bakery when visiting Tampa!

If Im ever craving a taste of home, El Coqui Bakery is where I go. Ive been coming here for years and they have maintained their high quality of baked good, sandwiches, and drinks. They make custom cakes, offers catering, and have all the guava pastries youll need.

I had a guava pastry it was amazing the empanadas weren't that great honestly not much flavor to it but the pastries were great the only reason I put three stars was because the coffee wasn't great and when inside I saw a roach hopefully they fix the issues and when I'm back in Tampa I'll give them another try it's hard finding Puerto Rican bakeries in Broward so I was really looking forward to this just wish it was a better experience

Nice assortment of pastries, empanadas, bread, sandwiches and drinks. The ham and cheese empanada was a solid breakfast choice. The guava pastries tasted great, even after flying back to Indiana a day later. I also brought a Cuban loaf home and it made the best sandwiches. The employee was friendly and helpful. They were busy in the morning, but the line moved quickly and I didn't feel rushed.

The service was excellent and they always are very attentive. I will say that the sandwich I had today was not to my liking. A chicken tri- something they call it. Sorry but the only things I could eat were the bread, lettuce, tomato, ham and pork. The chicken was something out of a can that seemed to have gone bad. The queso flan is not made right. See picture for soup like texture with chunks of cream cheese. Seriously I love the service but without good food, good service will only go so far. I will return for other things which I've tried before and have liked which is why I gave it a Four star.

This is a modest Uruguayan bakery serving up some delectable treats. The baked goods aren't the only sweet thing there, the ladies that work there are so nice and cordial. The bakery is housed between a few other ethnic outlets. Parking can be a bit chaotic at times but I have never not found a spot in the afternoon. There are plenty of breads, pastries, and sweet confections to choose from. I like that you can take home a loaf or two of bread and some individual-sized flans. There are also some specialty items and well as baking supplies. In addition, there are hot food items for sale such as sandwiches and sides which I have not tried. There is a hot box with empanadas and other small handheld foods as well. I find the prices to be very reasonable. Their alfajores are my jam. I think I am addicted. Two light and crumbly cookies stuck together with dulce de leche and coated with coconut on the inside. Simply wonderful. I will be back many times.

Really friendly and helpful staff! And delicious baked goods, breakfast sandwiches of all types, and a great selection of other sandwiches for lunch or dinner! Prices are very reasonable too. The baked goods rock... the Quesitos I had were delicious, crispy, flakey and just the perfect amount of sweetness to them to enhance the cream cheese! I will be back!

El Coqui does not disappoint! This Latin bakery has great quesitos and about everything else to tempt your taste buds. From savory to sweetness... Sandwiches to snacks, coffee to fruit smoothies el Coqui was singing my song. We shared a tripleta sandwich. They don't call it a tripleta for no reason-- it's big. It's full of meat, lettuce and tomato. She toasted and gently pressed it to perfection. El papá rellena was as Big as a baseball and well worth the carbs. The bakery is in a small plaza with easy access and parking. It's small, but service is friendly, fast and bilingual.

Found this place through looking for a bakery that was close to work. They open early so very convenient since I have to be at work at 7:30am. Walked in around 7:15 and no wait. Greeted quickly and made it out quick spending only $5 for 3 yummy pastries. They not only have pasty but also have sandwiches and breakfast items, croquettes and so many other things. You can tell that the items are baked fresh daily. The croissant I got for myself was stuffed with cream cheese. The pastry was so soft and flaky and wasn't overloaded with the cream cheese. My coworkers got the guava and cheese pastry which was a lot of breading but overall good. I'll definitely be back to try more things. This is a little hidden gem!

Absolutely recommend. 20/10 no notes!!!…read more Tucked into a plaza, I've seen this spot so many times and finally was able to check it out. The inside is a decent size with tables, cute decor and lots of plants. When I first walked in, I was taken back by how beautiful the pastry display cases were!! I had the hardest time choosing which pastry to get because they all looked like works of art!! Super friendly staff, great service but now to get to the goods: the coffee and pasties. This is a true authentic French bakery, no doubt in my mind. The iced salted caramel latte is the best I have EVER had. I could taste every flavor and it blended with the coffee perfectly. The ham and cheese croissant was so flakey, the perfect ham ratio and just all around fantastic. The pastry I got had raspberry jam and white chocolate ganache (I don't remember the name of it) and it was seriously the best pastry I've ever had. Most pastries can be too sweet, but this was just right. The jam tasted fresh and homemade (probably is!) and the white chocolate ganache gave it just a touch of sweetness. It is a little pricey so be warned: $48 for two coffees and two pastries. Definitely worth a splurge!!

The space is quaint, modern but inviting. The pastries are truly the star of the show. I stopped in around 4 PM and parking was easy to find. The service was also excellent. The person behind the counter was very welcoming and even helped recommend pastries based on our palate preferences, which made the experience feel more personal and thoughtful. What I ordered: two pastries, the strawberry Japanese cheesecake and the goat cheese carrot cake. The strawberry Japanese cheesecake ($15) was a perfect balance of fruity freshness and caramelized richness with a creamy finish. It was not overly sweet and the fruit and cream notes really stood out in every bite. The goat cheese carrot cake ($16) was my favorite. I would go back just for this. It was moist, rich, and had a tangy goat cheese filling that created a very creamy, complex flavor profile. So delicious. The prices are on the steeper side but I love a baker who knows their worth. Totally worth it for the quality.

They have four locations, and we went to the one in the Ybor City Historic District. La Segunda is an institution for Cuban bread and pastries, baking 18K loaves daily and ships nationwide via Goldbelly. Our niece's BF is Cuban, and he said buy anything with guava. In the box (see photo), we bought two each of guava flip (kind of a folded tart or empanada), guava turnover, and guava flip with cream cheese. All of them are delicious! I like the flaky guava turnovers the most even though they didn't survive the transportation across the country in my backpack as well as some of the others. Even though slightly crumbly, still yummy! I also bought butter cookies, sold by the pound. Those are relatively ordinary; I'll skip those in the future. Next time, we are carrying Cuban sandwiches home! I really wish I carried them home. I was having Cuban sandwich withdrawal. This location is older but functional; there isn't seating. Their customers know what they want, and everything moves FAST. If it's your visit (like it was for us), I suggest looking at the menu online to know what to order. The service is friendly, even though I can tell he was a bit exasperated that I didn't just yell out my order and I asked questions. I honestly don't fault him. Busy places have their own pace, and the customers are the ones to keep up. That's perfectly ok.

Cake. Latte. Bread. Pastries. What more can a woman ask for???!!! I was already swooning over the photos and menu options seen on Yelp and Google, but TASTING is BELIEVING and now I'm so glad that I can say it's everything I hoped it would be. It's like a little piece of Paris right here in Tampa! (I've been). So I've come for cake, stayed for latte and quiche, and because why not, threw in the salad so that lunch and dinner is taken care of, too! Okay, first off...what I got. The quiche is light and airy, and is basically a croissant with quiche filling instead of a quiche slice. I love croissants, so this was a nice treat for me that I could hold in my hand. The Salted Caramel Latte I thought was pretty unique, because yes, there's a PRETZEL on top of it (which I plucked off and ate the first thing when I got it. Tasted rich and delicious, and was a great companion for my food. Now, usually I don't bat so much as an eye for a salad, but that Korean beef salad looked fresh and yummy, and it would definitely take care of dinner for the day because, why not, while I'm out? It was a decent size too, not too filling, with a good variety of veggies such as cukes, carrots, tomatoes, on top of mixed greens with Korean beef, which was the only heavy thing on the salad so you don't feel weighed down. It's great to know if you're watching your waist line or caloric intake, Paris Baguette has you covered with no problem as the nutrition facts are listed on the menu so you can make an informed choice. Of course, their cakes are so good, you wouldn't help but want to indulge. Which brings me to my final point. When I saw MOCHA CAKE on the menu, I thought, OMG I have to have it!!! It's EVERYTHING I could want and more and I must ask WHY ISN'T MOCHA CAKE MORE OF A THING NOW???? The sponge cake was light and airy like a coffee cloud as was the buttercream, not too sweet, rounding out my whole meal in nice elegant, finish. The shop itself is cute, but Muffin and I ate outside since the outside area is dog friendly. It reminds me of those open-air cafes in Europe, especially in Paris, elevating my lunch experience with my dog. The staff is super nice and welcoming on approach, too. It's a bit of a drive for me, but it's really not THAT bad depending on when I go and the business hours help, too. I can't wait to go back and make this a regular spot whether I just want a tasty healthy lunch, or I seek to indulge!

The spanakopita was the perfect, flakey, savory intro and then paired perfectly with the sweet baklava coffee cake and croissant cinnamon roll. All three were exceptional and next time I'll go next door to their market and buy some to take home. From there we dug into breakfast dishes.
