Cute little spot in Williamsburg. Definitely worth stopping by! The place looks wonderful. I've never seen a coffee shop/bakery like this one before . Very unique and cozy. The pastries were not as tasty and fresh. We did come in the afternoon so the selection wasn't as big as it is in the morning, I'm assuming. We have tried three different kinds of pastries and we didn't finish any of them. They were chewy and dry. Like I said before, the place looks absolutely insane. This quaint little bakery stole my heart! It's a hidden gem a couple blocks off of the Bedford Ave L train stop. Came here twice in a week because I was so eager to try out different bakes. I had the apple cider flower like some Yelpers recommend, it is so beautifully made but I felt it was a bit too hard in texture and couldn't taste much of the apple cider. I had the raspberry pistachio muffin my second visit, which was fantastic. The raspberry flavors were both strongly present and the crunch on the outer ring was on point. Highly recommend this one. Coffee wise, I got a cold brew which I thought was a bit too watery. The second time I went I got a small latte, but it took almost 10 mins for the barista to brew because they were backed up with coffee orders but also she meticulously measured the amount of coffee to go into each drink. While I really appreciate the precision, I was trying to catch my train to work. So definitely be aware that this isn't your go go go place if you need a super quick cup of joe before hopping on your morning commute. The place felt a bit stuffy in temperature in the morning both times, maybe because of the oven being on and such... Pay a visit to Bakeri and you won't be disappointed! Very disappointing experience. The shop opens at 8. At 8:15am I ordered food and a coffee (added the coffee only to meet their unreasonable $10 card minimum) and paid. About two minutes later the cashier informed me the "food person" wasn't there. I asked to be refunded and she only refunded me the $9.80 for the food. Wasn't going to show me a receipt either. Then I had to ask to be refunded the other $2 for the coffee. Also found it odd that a coffee shop in Williamsburg doesn't offer WiFi. Seems like they don't want customers. read more

Solid coffee shop with tasty coffee and delicious baked goods. Me and the young lady got some coffee and treats here for our latest adventures on the East River. Both the hot and ice coffee's were tasty and strong. Loved the butter cake or I think that's what that bagged good was. However the baguette sandwich was just ok and the bread was hard. Don't get me wrong, this is a very cool bakery and place to either go to for pastries or sit down with a latte or some food...but I've been there twice and why did I just never feel welcome? The service was once rude and the other time indifferent. Why? I get along with people, why the attitude? Obviously it's not fair to reduce a decently run place with lots of other good things to focus on to a few unfortunate experiences with some of the staff members....so: The coffee was actually good, served in a big cup which I like! The crumb cake I had (photo) was too dry and didn't taste like much, but other items I took to go were just fine. I haven't tried the outdoor seating - just had a look and that had a nice feel too. And thinking about it, it's a busy place. Especially on weekends which is when I go to Brooklyn, maybe the staff is nicer when it's not so busy. read more

This place is OFF THE CHAIN!! Everything I've tried here as been really good. Its one of my Billyburg go to spots for a sugary snack or a light lunch/brunch. The rhubarb/almond cake, the interestingly not very sweet espresso cookie (beware of the caffeine jolt from this one), the vanilla bean custard brioche type bread with a Scandinavian name... everything was so good that my crew decided to sample some of the savory delights. The grilled gruyere cheese with tomato jam and cool gazpacho hit the spot. I've been to both Williamsburg and Greenpoint locations and despite the adorable decor and yummy food the service is always bad. Inconsistent, disorganized, hurried and often abrasive. I wonder if they have an employee requirement of being moody all the time but it's pretty regular. Their baked treats are delicious and unique. The chocolate chip cardamom is a staple and absolutely worth trying. I've also noticed their cupcakes to be super moist but often overly sugary. Also am a fan of the Counter Culture coffee but why don't they serve half and half? Is Counter Culture okay with this? Williamsburg spot is teeny tiny and you're lucky to find a seat, whereas GP is more spread out. I hope your overall experience is better than mine has been! read more

Happy as a clam to find a great bakery now that the beloved Cheeks has closed. Nostalgic wood which is the design de riguer in the "burg" A tiny open kitchen right in the back of a tiny store. Their stuff looks pretty great right away. I thought the prices were pretty low for the quality of the goods. Had the double chocolate cookie which was rich and delish. Took away the sour cherry tart over custard which was $4- amazing. I've found my soulmate and it comes in cookie form. The rosemary hazelnut cookie from Bakeri to be exact. Omg this cookie. I would never have thought the combination of Rosemary, chocolate and hazelnuts in a baked good would be so delicious. It doesn't hurt that these are served warm from the oven. Nothing better. Except maybe their double chocolate, cherry and macadamia cookie...my second soul mate. Me and my friend sat here for a good hour enjoying these cookies with coffee and we loved every second. The bakery itself is also very welcoming and the staff is very nice. This is one of my favorite spots in williamsburg and it should be yours too. Ahh! The cutest bakery I've ever been to! I came here on a weekday in the morning to grab breakfast and coffee. I walked by this cafe and was immediately attracted to the adorable exterior. I can tell that whoever decorated the store has great taste in small details. I ordered the granola bowl and coffee and grabbed a seat by the window. The granola bowl was really yummy and I can tell that the granola is home-made. I had such a great morning catching up on some work and enjoying the sunshine during the summer. I loved it here so much I actually made a brochure for their menu for one of my classes. Was almost tempted by the Apple Cider Flower and a variety of other items in the display, but went with the hazelnut rosemary cookie, which was either made incorrectly that day or some BS branding, as it was 60% no mix-ins, 35% peanuts, 4% chocolate, and 1% rosemary and/or hazelnut (indiscernible). Very cute spot to grab a treat and a coffee. Friendly people - almost seemed like visiting a friends house. They all seem to genuinely like being there and seemed to like each other - not the vibe you get at some other cafés. Decor was eclectic with lots of interesting details. I had a giant latte (tasty) and a strawberry oat nutmeg scone which was huge and very filling. I managed to get one of their tiny tables - seating is at a premium here and they brought out my order, starting a tab for me. The only problem with that was when I was ready to go, it was really busy and I had to wait awhile in line to pay. No biggie though as I was in no rush. This is a cute place to go for tea time. I went here this afternoon with my friend. I got white peony tea with earl grey cookie and she got lavender mint tea with raspberry bar. Everything was tasty. The pastries are not too sweet and buttery. The teas are great for a light tea time. I love the iced lavender mint tea which is great for summer. They do have a cute backyard with a pond. The chocolate inside was melted and that flavor combination of sweet and slightly salty from the salt on top just worked so well alongside the strong flavor of rosemary, and paired with a cold brew. I have lived in Williamsburg for 10 years and thus been going to Bakeri for a very long time, in fact Bakeri is not only one of my favorite Bakerys in NYC but also in the world (I am from the UK originally ). The food and aesthetic are trully special here. However, I have always struggled with the really unpleasant attitude that seems to be a theme amongst the staff that work here and after an unsavory phone call I had the other day,I just felt as though enough was enough! The lady who picked up the phone was beyond unpleasant and quite frankly it has really put me off going back. There is an air of arrogance amongst their staff it really needs to be addressed because it's incredibly unnecessary and really ruins the entire experience of going. read more
