The service and food was absolutely amazing. This place should definitely be on your list to visit next time you are in Miami. I will be back next I go to Miami. read more

Enjoyed an amazing meal yesterday with friends at this new exciting venue. Food was over the top Robalo Chilean tacos, steak platter with all the goodies, traditional guacamole and hot cheese appetizers with homemade blue tortillas! Drinks spot on and Ryan our server was on top of the menu with his menu suggestions and service throughout several small plate courses! Highly recommend! read more

I LOVE Mexican food! so while walking around Wynwood we stumbled across Bakan. I was so excited to try what appeared to be a great restaurant with good music in a wonderful setting however, the customer service by staff and management is awful. When I walked up to the hostess desk, I was asked "how many" to which I replied "5".After the hostess looked up she told me that they were only accepting reservations. My 2 friends and I walked back out to the front of the restaurant and witnessed the same employee add other guest to a waitlist. When a group of 6 people stepped out to wait, we asked if they had a reservation and they advised no however, the same hostess told them she would find them something. This is when the other 2 guest of our party walked up and I told them to see if they were now accepting reservations while we waited outside so they did not know we were together. To our surprise, they were able to be accommodated. It seemed very odd that within a 2 minute timeframe availability was at an all time high especially when the fair skin toned person of our group (and table of 6) was able to get a seat. When we were seated, I asked the host why we were not given a table ,but the other guest in our party managed to be added to the list. I was told that this is because my friends had arrived before us. Its one thing to say it was a mistake, but its a totally different thing to just lie to a customers face as if we were not all together and knew who arrived first. I asked to speak to a manager. The manager advised when people do not arrive within 15 minutes of their reservation then it is canceled and walk ins are allowed. I told him that this was an explanation that I could accept despite how coincidental it seemed within a 2 minute timeframe. I also explained how rude and unprofessional his employee was and how she could have also simply said that. He advised that they are 19 and 20 year olds " what do I expect". While he may have low expectations from his staff, I believe that being rude and poor customer service is not about age especially when there are younger employees who have grasped this basic concept . I then told the manager how her poor behavior along with the current climate we live in could be viewed as discriminatory . He advised the restaurant was Mexican and they are the most discriminated group in America. At that moment I let him leave because I knew nothing positive would come from continued conversation. This restaurant is equivalent to a tomahawk steak served on the filthiest trash can lid . It would almost be better to take the food and serve it though a Taco Bell line. Good food, but terrible service . read more

My overall experience with Bakan was not good at all. First of all the waiting time was very long. The food was just ok. The draft bear was terrible. Finally the server offered to try their most popular tequila. They brought us two shots and charged $20 each without telling us that they are not free read more

Incredible food, service and ambiance. We would have eaten here multiple times had we known about this place earlier.

Great dinner last night. We are outside on a perfect Miami evening. Full moon, beautiful atmosphere, excellent service, really delicious food. We tried the REd Snapper and it was fantastic. Really fresh, just off the grill, seasoned to perfection, a really nice choice for a fish option. Drinks were very nice as well. Plenty of Tequilas to choose from in a well stocked bar. For a fun night with really good food.. this is the place. Make a reservation because it gets crowded. read more

The food was good and to my surprise the portions are big ! The tomahawk was okay I have had better but the tacos and drinks and octopus where really good !!! Definitely will go back read more

The best beans IN THE WORLD. Amazing customer service, wonderful food, worth the price. I will travel hours to just eat their sides. This place deserves a million stars. May I have your bean recipe? read more

Terrible! Drinks were good but overpriced. Food came out and the chicken in the center of the taco was kind of cold. Food was edible but absolutely nothing special at all. Great place for the typical Miami crowd that wants to post their plates of food on social media for clout. If you know good food you probably won't like this place. Don't bother read more

Great spot, every time we are in Miami we head here for the great atmosphere, service, food and drinks.

This seems more of an Instagram spot than one for great food. Ordered their signature mezcal mule -- I enjoy mezcal but this was super smoky and overpowered other flavors. Food was ok but nothing special. read more

This was my first time at this restaurant and I was completely blown away. Not only was the food INCREDIBLE, but the service was even better. Our waiter Evan made our experience so memorable. I can not wait to come back again. I highly recommend Bakan and especially recommend requesting Evan as your server. You will not be disappointed!! Thank you so much for a great experience Evan! read more

Service did not match the expectation from the visual attraction of the decor. Not a fan. Hostess was no where to be found when we arrived for at least 10 min, our waiter looked lost, chips and guac- chips were SO hard almost broke a tooth, and completely flavorless. Guac did not taste fresh at all. Food was mediocre. Not impressed. Wouldn't recommend at all. read more

Decor was great grabbed my attention . Service was Horrible / no host manager clueless and waiter looked like he was new, no intro no explanation no Nothing . The guacamole was blah w Hard blue No taste chips . Food was Not bad but Not great it was Blahhh . read more

I went here with my Mom my Sister and some friends and the service was terrible the food came out at all different times the waiters couldn't do a simple thing as just bringing the check, the environment was nice and the food was pretty good but the waiters had terrible service there for I wouldn't recommend this restaurant unless they improved there service read more

Worst service of any restaurant I have ever been to. We were told we would be seated in 15 minutes and after an hour of waiting we still hadn't been seated while other locals came in and were seated right away. Only get three chips with guacamole which costs $18. Only redeeming quality was the bar staff. Overpriced and terrible service. Would give negative stars if that were a thing. read more

We loved Bakan! When I first made reservations I thought this might just be a Wynwood restaurant that served ersatz Mexican food in a pseudo hip setting but I was wrong. The food was excellent and just as important service was top notch. From the time we approached the host (who looked a little stern but turned out to be very accommodating) to being seated with our gracious waitress my expectations were raised. And the restaurant is really nice and trendy but with the absence of affectations and without being overly flourished. We went on the dinner recommendations of our waitress and she didn't steer us wrong. We tried the quasidilla with zucchini and that was really good. We also had the mole negro with chicken and chicken enchiladas and both were excellent. We tried the lobster tacos and while they were not terrible they were nothing special and at $31 these were the most expensive entrees we tried. Chocolate cake for dessert was okay but nothing more. The prices at Bakan are what you would expect to pay in Wynwood or even a little less. If you keep away from the lobster tacos and other higher priced items the food here is fairly priced - given the location and quality. Its nice to see a good Mexican restaurant come to Miami. read more

Alex made our Bakan experience so special. We were celebrating a special day and he went above and beyond to make sure it was just that! The food was wonderful too, queso, guac, carnitas tacos mushroom quesadilla everything was so yummy and the vibes are sooo cool! read more

Multiple problems. Long wait despite reservation and saw open table but weren't allowed this table since was for "vip". Poor service- long wait for drinks and bar couldn't make requested drinks. Appetizers took long time and main course came first, we had to send back. Not enough support staff. Food was good but not good enough to offset poor service. Expected much more considering prices. And , tip was already included. read more

This place is super cute but I wasn't that impressed. Came with a friend during happy hour where the first page of drinks is half off, which is nice, but the drink prices range from $14-$18 so it's not exactly a steal. We asked if they could make a spicy margarita since we didn't see any on the menu and they did, also nice. The drinks were the best part; not too weak, not too spicy, just right! For food we got the guacamole appetizer and I wish it would've add some of the spice from the margarita, overall it wasn't too flavorful. The chips it comes with were good but we had to ask for more because we only got 2. I wanted to order veggie tacos but the waiter said they had mushrooms. However the second taco option on the menu is mushroom tacos soo what's the difference between the two? I'm not sure. I ended up getting the chicken tacos which I would describe as similar to a taquito. It was a rolled hard shell with I think only chicken inside and some dipping sauce on the side. Would maybe come back for a drink if I was celebrating something or to start the evening but not much else. read more

This restaurant is nothing like you have seen before. From the minute you step in you immediately feel like you have left Wynwood and gone to a far away place. The cactus fence that lines the border of the restaurant is a sight to see. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The service far exceeds anything I could have imagined. They have countless bottles of tequila and mezcal. They even have a guy that is an expert in mezcal that will come to your table to explain the different types of mezcal they offer. When the mezcal comes it is served in a traditional shell imported from Mexico with a spicy salt and orange slices. My regret is not taking a picture to show the presentation. The food is amazing we had the queso fundido, carnitas tacos, ceviche, churros, and the shining star was Chilean sea bass tacos which melt in your mouth. This is not your typical Mexican restaurant and while it might be a bit pricey for some the quality of ingredients and attention to detail make it well worth the visit. I am a fan and will definitely be back. read more

Beautiful decor, delicious food, and exceptional presentation!! We chose a total of three appetizers and seven entrees for a party of six. Everything was delicious and authentic! It's pricey, however, and the service was very poor. We had to request a drink order twice before being served. Our waiter appeared to forget about us and took orders at other tables. A good twenty minutes later, my husband flagged down the waiter. Dessert never arrived until a manager was called. The manager comped us three desserts but, without good service, this restaurant may not last. read more

The quality of the food is that of a mobile taco food truck. Tacos were very bland and over salted. Guacamole was average and for $18 should have been much more flavorful. The margarita on the menu is $14 and uses standard Jose Cuevo tequila. When I asked for a small splash of Grand Marnier for my margarita they told me they could not do it. They said I would have to buy the $18 margarita which is the same as the $14 margarita except they put a small splash of Grand Marnier in it. The waiter told me they cannot customize the margaritas because they are pre-mixed in the back room. Who wants to pay $14 or $18 for a premixed margarita coming out of a large vat?? Another thing I noted while having dinner... there are no female servers. All the servers are males. When I ask about this, I was told they only hire men as servers but that there was one female server (a second one quit). I thought that was odd since most places have a mix of male/female servers. I will say the architect and interior designers did a great job on the building the structure and creating an ambience with the lighting. A great place to take a photo in font of... and post on Instagram. read more

this place is really rude and doesn't do take out my friend was diabetic and they chose not to serve us . I wouldn't recommend this place

Great authentic high end Mexican cuisine. The whole huachinango is amazing. The mezquites are also outstanding, the blue corn tortillas are fresh and authentic. Would def recommend and would be back when in the area. read more

Nice fresh-tasting marg, decent guac and blue chips, attentive bartender. Why the low review? Poor organization. The place was half empty the entire hour we were there -- I counted 24-30 outdoor seats vacant at all times, most of them the whole time -- yet the hostess would not even take our name, saying the wait was two hours. Hmmmm. It was especially annoying to just hang at the bar because my friend was in a wheelchair thanks to a recent knee injury. No one seemed to notice, or care. Prices are sky high, too, but that was the least of our worries! read more

LOVE! Stumbled upon this spot while visiting Wynwood and are so glad we stayed. Service is great and quite fast for a big dining space - definitely eat outside in their open dining area which is airy and makes you feel like you're in the desert because of all the catcii used as decor. The bartenders are so friendly and knowledgable and make it feel like a warm, neighborhood spot which is impressive for a restaurant of its size and cool but inviting ambiance. Drinks menu had enough unique creations to keep it interesting but seemed a bit pricey relative to the actual dishes - for this reason, be sure to check out their happy hour during which drinks are currently half-off. Onto the food - we only snacked a bit since we weren't quite ready for dinner but the salad had a great presentation and was generously portioned and filling, and the ceviche was also great but could've used some more tortillas (though maybe get the ceviche tostadas for this reason). If we weren't from out of town, we'd make this spot our regular go-to. Obsessed. read more

Hip Mexican restaurant in Wynwood neighborhood of Miami. Make reservations! Service was very good, despite the crowd/scene. Our waiter was friendly and helped us through all the menu choices. Most everything is Gluten-free as they only use corn tortillas, so we felt at home with our dietary restrictions. Food was amazing. At our table, we pretty much had one of every different style of preparation - Sopas, Quesadillas, Tacos, Enchiladas, etc. Don't forget to order the Queso with the Chorizo as an appetizer. read more

I was so looking forward to trying Bakan so maybe my expectations were too great to meet. Pros: -Food was great. Steak was wonderful. The cheesecake was also great. Both perfect size portions. Great Pico de Gallo. -The manager of the restaurant and the rest of the staff were attentive. The manager's attentiveness kept us from being aggravated by our MIA waiter. -No one rushes you through the meal -Love the metal holder the bill came in Cons: -Not a place to have a conversation - to others the loud music outside and bad acoustics inside are plus... so to each their own. -Our server waiter was MIA the manager took our drink order and then our dinner orders. When our waiter did come by, it was cursory and he also appears to know little about Mexican food. He talked about the blue corn tortillas and chips as if this was a new invention and rare. He also did not listen to the answer (maybe because he could not hear because of the noise...) as I told him my drink was not good and he said acted as if I said it was great. I had to tell him my answer was not that it was good..... -The drinks, as my waiter explained (and I told him I knew this) they use a 2 oz pour. This, I well aware, is standard. What is not standard is a mason jar glass (which I always love) full of ice and very little drink. The manager was obliging and redid and the second one was an OK drink but nothing special. You can order an extra shot or a double and when I inquired about the cost the waiter who actually came did not know it. He never came back to tell me or ask if I wanted that in my remade drink. This was a total fail in my opinion. -No pico and the chips on the menu. This is a personal complaint. I hate guac... yes there are some of us out there who do... chips and salsa would be a nice alternative. They did create it my delivering 6 large chips and bowl of pico... ($ 3.00 which since it was great I am not complaining, but there is a charge so I mention it so someone is not surprised) From the other reviews service is hit or miss, so I would still recommend someone try Bakan, I just would say lower your expectations. read more

Came here for a Mexican date night for the first time & had the most incredible time! Great food! Tacos were my absolute favorite. Cocktails were delicious and the service even better. Looking for a very cool/hip vibe, look no further! We're definitely coming back. read more

Was very disappointed in this restaurant. From all of the reviews thought it would be great. First of all they had things missing from the menu, they don't make the guacamole fresh and the servers could not really speak english. I guess when they know they have messed up they added gratuity to a table of 5 (2 kids and 3 adults). I always thought it was 6 people or more. I guess I was wrong. Food was very very average. My sides on my main course were cold. The ceviche fish was very chewy and the guacamole was blended into a smooth paste. Please don't waste your time. I am sure there are much better places close by. read more

Let me start by saying that the restaurant is very nice, nicely decorated, though quite loud! The food, though, was nothing authentic Mexican. The blue tortillas, which are used in their tacos, are quite tasteless. In addition, they are too soft to stand up to the fillings. My husband had the Suiza enchiladas and it was a glob of unmelted cheese in a bowl. The guacamole with cotija cheese needed some salt to kick it up a notch and I would have been happier with guac from Chipotle. One overpriced cocktail, a beer and two mains equaled a $95 lunch which I don't care to repeat. read more

This place is overrated. We made a reservation and had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. The service sucks. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and got plain quesadilla with cheese. Literally a tortilla with melted cheese. I mentioned it to the waiter and he did nothing to fix it. Best part there is a 18% service charge included in your check. In other words do not come here. read more

Would love to give this a 5 star rating but my first impression upon arrival at the bar was anything but welcoming. My friend and I ordered 2 cocktails, the bartender asked for our IDs (no problem with that) then proceeded to insult us and our IDs by questioning their authenticity and our ages (we are 25 and 23 years of age). This continued throughout our experience at the bar as the original bartender made sure to direct the attention of his coworkers towards us to "verify" our ages which made us comfortable as they stared and laughed together. We decided to wait the 40 minutes for a table where our sever David gave us an amazing experience. He was very respectful, professional and gave great recommendations. Throughout our dining experience he would check on us and make sure our waters or anything we needed was fulfilled. The food was delicious and authentic. Would return again but not to the bar. read more

One word!... DISAPPOINTMENT! We walked in and the hostess was eating something and sucking on her fingers. She sat us and it literally took like 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. The food was ok and the drinks were really good. Nothing like they raved about on deco drive tho. I guess they were switching shifts and our server, which was probably his first day introduced us to our new server. We asked her for another round of drinks which took another 10 minutes for her to bring, I guess the two tables in the entire restaurant were taking up the bartenders time. She stood there gossiping for about 5 minutes until I had to ask her for my bottle of water. Meanwhile the the hostess leaning over the hostess stand like if she was falling asleep. Does this restaurant have a manager? Servers on their phones, my table didn't get prebussed once, even tho I pushed my cups and dishes to the end of the table. I manage a restaurant, and this was absolutely ridiculous. read more

5 stars because everything was on point! The place is awesome and beautiful, I recommend outdoor seating. Our server, Bryan, recommended great dishes, was timely and checked on us regularly. For the food- every single one of the dishes was amazing! The queso fundido is a must have, we loved it. The guacamole was great too, as well as the skirt steak, fish tacos and esquite. I'll definitely be back soon. read more
