My wife and I first tried to eat here early on our trip to Tucson, and the line was far out the door, and we were in a rush that day, so decided to eat elsewhere. We came back on a weekday day at 11:00 and there was no wait, but after eating here realize why this place is so busy. This is by far one of the best breakfast places we have ever been to. The menu has so many delicious sounding dishes, it was difficult to decide, but we ended up getting the Two Pan Sam Lemon Blueberry pancakes and the Wyatt Earp Benedict to share, and were blown away by both dishes. I don't normally like pancakes much, but could not stop eating this dish. It was sweet, but tangy and there was this carmelizaiton on top that provided a little sweet crunch which was so good. It was great though to have the Wyatt Earp for a savory dish and the green chiles in it and the tender pulled pork with cheese tamale pie and tomatillo sauce was a perfect complimentary plate to have, and I loved going back and forth between the two dishes. To top it off, I decided to try one of their spicy Bloody Mary's. I think I've only tried a Bloody Mary a couple of times in the past so am no expert at how this compares, but just seeing what it looked like, I had to try one, and was not disappointed. It had a spicy rim and spicy a collection of items to go with it such as spicy bacon, cheese, a Jalapeño which were delicious and a great way to top off this over-the-top breakfast. Went to celebrate a birthday. Always love a good Benedict and this place has quite the variety . Normally split the Benedict with someone and in this case I learned that they only provide one egg. This was a huge disappointment. When asked they said it was due to the high cost of eggs. I do remember the olden days when eggs were over $8 a dozen but we are past that now. The only negative I have about this place is the wait . No matter the day or time it's packed . With that being said the food is fresh and hot the service is good but you may have to schedule for an extra 15-30 min if not 45 min in for breakfast. A word of warning, this place is always pack so if you have a party of three or more than you will wait. The food does not miss. The amount of food on the plate is deceiving until you dig in. It's hard to find a complaint on the food. Found this on Yelp after a stressful trip down to the Western Passport Center and it was just what I needed to calm my nerves :) AMAZING breakfast - the short rib with eggs was incredible and my 10yo stole most of it. Her Liege waffle was excellent as well and true to form. (It's a different kind of waffle, yeasty and chewy and definitely worth a try!) Portions are large and filling. Service was efficient and friendly. We were lucky to get an open tiny table for two but larger parties were waiting outside for a while. My housemates and I go here very often on Mondays around brunch/lunch time. I think we just miss the rush, so we almost always get seated right away. Everything we have had is SO good. There are three of us and our favorite thing to do is get 2-3 separate things and split them all. This usually involves one pancake as the sweet treat- they're huge! Honestly, all the portions are huge which is why we can all share two meals sometimes. I also love the Yosemite Bloody Mary. The service is always so great here too. There's one guy there (can't recall his name) that is SO friendly and attentive. He's our fav sever by far, but everyone is great. Food always comes out quick and hot. The best hashbrowns I have ever had. It was so perfectly crispy! The eggs were perfectly cooked and I loved the fresh fruit that was offered when I declined the bread due to being gluten free. Slowly working my way through all the pancakes and the pineapple one didn't disappoint as expected! One of my favorites now with fresh tart pineapple highlighting the dish. Came here after speaking to another Yelper about how wonderful the pancakes here are. They have 3 locations. I visited the Broadway location. The place is tiny and cozy, yet it doesn't feel confined at all. I arrived just past noon and they were packed. I was seated pretty quickly. The menu has a great selection of your standard classic fare, eggs omelettes, hash browns etc. But that's where it stops being standard. They have a unique decadent pancake selection. Waffles, Liege waffles. Specialties, huevos rancheros and a large selection of Benedict's. They also serve burgers and tacos. They have a selection of beverages both alcoholic and not. Chose to try the thunder and lightning. It's a Benedict I'd call it southwestern style. It came with a habanero chicken sausage which was amazing, 2 eggs bene style, peppers, bacon, all on a plain pancake accompanied by hash browns. The eggs were perfectly cooked. Runny. Just as they should be. The portion was huge. I'd say enough to share for sure. For the pancakes I chose a two pan Sam. This is a blueberry pancake with lemon curd and whipped cream. Wow. It was a flavor explosion! A beautiful lemon blueberry mix. Not sweet. Not sour or tangy. Just beautifully balanced. Huge. Definitely shareable. They have a new special every week. Worth the wait! This Tuscon institution serves up traditional and southwest inspired eggs benedicts as well as traditional breakfast and lunch staples. On our most recent visit, I had the prickly pear margarita and breakfast tacos with chorizo. I opted for corn tortillas which were made from scratch in house. Two tacos with pureed black beans and cheesy potatoes were more than I could finish. Our server was very sweet and attentive. I've been coming here for years, but it fell out of my regular rotation for some reason. Now I've been back 2 days in a row, and I'm wondering to myself why it took so long to revisit?! Today, I had the Wyatt Earp Benedict ($18.50): Grilled green chile and cheese tamale pie placed over a green chile tomatillo sauce topped with seared pulled pork, two strips of corn husk smoked bacon, fire roasted green chilies, onion, tomatoes, melted ched- dar and Jack cheese. Topped with two poached eggs, avocado hollandaise, pico de gallo and cotija. Just amazing. The portion is so big, once again, I could not finish, but my taste buds were singing with each bite. My companions got the Southwest Smoked Brisket Tots Benedict ($19.50) and the Smoked Brisket Enchiladas ($19.00) and a side of tater tots ($4.50.) All of us were thrilled with our selections. We also split the Snickerdoodle pancakes. No joke, this was some of the best any of us had ever had. One hiccup was we sort of fell through the cracks when first seated. However, Cameron and Gordy more than made up for it, and we hope they are available when we return for our next visits. If you are looking for a southwest/New Mexican flare to breakfast or brunch, this is HA DS Down the best place I have eaten! In particular, for breakfast or brunch. The pork ranchero is amazing! Now this is a large plate as are they all, and with every penny. Pork is incredibly tender, along with a ranchero sauce that is one of the best I have ever had. It comes with eggs of your choice. They place the eggs on top of a crispy tostada, with a black bean sauce and pico di gallo and fresh avocado slices and cheese. Oh mama!!!! My side was hash browns and they are perfect, crisp and savory. We had an appetizer of black bean and cheese dip, homemade salsa, smoky and amazing and a warm cheese sauce! Get this and you won't regret it. Chips are crispy and awesome!! As an appetizer we also had the lemon blueberry pancake. I e had it prior, but I was saving myself for my order. However, let me put it this way, 1 pancake can feed at least four people. The service is on point and has been every time I have been there. I'm dead serious....the best breakfast from a southwestern/a little spicy food perspective I e e we had! In fact, there's usually an hour wait for good reason. In another note, the special had by two in our group was a chicken tinga over a tamale pie with eggs your way. My family loved it as well.
