This one seems a little more organized than other locations I've been to. The two folks working behind the counter didn't seem particularly thrilled to be there, but for the most part they were pleasant and doing their job well. The food came out faster than expected. It was typical Baggin's fare and I find their menu to be worth the money. I did appreciate the woman bringing out cookies for folks that were waiting for their food, so they get an extra shout out and paragraph for that. I like the interior of this location more than other Baggin's I've been to; it just seems a little friendlier. The Albuquerque Turkey and chips were great for my lunch, and definitely worth the price. read more

This is the third time we have received bad service at this place and this time they have lost my business. Too many times we have been left just sitting there, while there are only a small handful of other customers (who have already gotten their food), waiting for our food to come out. All the while, the employees are standing around talking, laughing, and having ZERO interest in preparing or getting us our food. Today we complained to the "manager" who didn't apologize for the wait and was instead rude and dismissive. With the prices this place charges for their sandwiches, you would think they might understand that they need to provide good customer service and not treat people as if they don't matter. I have nothing but love for the Baggin's food and their service. Just about all the soups, salads, sandwiches and sides are solid and the desserts are ridiculously yummy. I would happily drown in their tomato bisque. Never, ever leave without getting some limoncello cake! The people are always so friendly and helpful. They are especially patient when dealing with online customer service or order customizations at the counter. I will drop stars, however, for the new ordering system and loyalty program. Calling in an order is no longer an option. I tried ordering one of those amazing limoncello cakes over the phone and was directed by a recording to use the app or order online with the website. There is no way to talk to a person. When I went online and ordered the cake, I made a mistake and set up delivery for the wrong day. There is no way to change the order once it is placed, except to email a "contact@" email address. Granted they did respond quickly, but it was a little nerve-wracking, as I wondered if someone would get back to me in time to make the edit. The last thing I will point out is that the loyalty program only works if you place orders online or with the app. You can't walk in and order at the counter if you want loyalty points. Seems like an oversight that doesn't actually promote loyalty. The ordering system and loyalty program are relatively new, but I think they've been around long enough to have worked out the initial kinks, but until they change a few things I'll be enjoying their food and services a little less often. read more

Baggins once was one of my favorite sandwich shops in Tucson. They still make a good sandwich but everything else about the place had gone downhill. The prices have become outrageous and the increases have far outstripped inflation. Recently they offered a flash deal via text that made the price acceptable. I called the shop to order two sandwiches for my wife and I but they said they only accept online orders through their app or website. I tried to order via their website but could only get the flash deal on one sandwich even though the text it was valid for up to four. I created a separate login for my wife so I could order the second sandwich. When I picked up the sandwiches I took them to my car and looked inside the bag. I noticed that they had not included the signature chocolate chip cookies that come with each sandwich. I went back inside and asked about them. They said that the cookies had just come out of the oven and were too hot so they just skipped them without saying a word. I said I would wait a few minutes for them to cool. About a minute later they gave me two cookies. They were warm but not hot. I will not be going back to this Baggins location on Speedway near Kolb. Just awful customer service! read more

Classic local sandwich shop that has great sandwiches, soups, and salads. The salads come in an optional bread bowl which is fun. They are always busy and seem to take a bit longer for the preparation, but it's worth the wait. Things always taste fresh and delicious. read more

I placed my order online. It said it would take 30 minutes, which I thought was a lot, but I guess they were busy. I arrived 28 minutes later and when I went to the counter, that is when my order was put into the queue to be made. I hate to be negative but can't say nothing. We ordered for a pick up arrived as they opened they acknowledged they receive the order ( 2 sandwiches). Service was incredibly slow, an order that walked in after us received there's first. The biggest problem is the appearance of the staff. Having been in food service for 40 plus years , it is very discouraging to see the level of decline in what is acceptable in appearance of staff. Three of the four employees looked unkempt, sloppy, hair hanging in face, which comes across as dirty. I regret having to post this but it has to be said. They won't take a $50 bill for a $20 purchase (perhaps concerned about counterfeit bills) but inconvenient for customer. The food is excellent, but online access leaves much to be desired. You cannot phone an order in because they "do not monitor their phone". In order to place an online order efficiently, you must download their app. If you try to order online from their web site, it takes you back to the beginning where you have to select the location. I love supporting locally owned and Arizona businesses, but these owners really need to rethink how they do business. After a bad experience with the Baggins on Treat and Speedway, I thought I would give the Speedway/ Kolb location a try to see if it is better. The interior is a great improvement. The other photos posted on Yelp are 5 to 10 years old. I posted current ones. You get half the amount of food now for double the price. The bread is always super dried out, the sandwiches are mostly bread and iceberg lettuce, I have never had a ripe tomato or the amount of meat or poultry they show on their website. Tonight I had the $10.50 club sandwich, which they text me an offer that made it $7. A lot of people were waiting for their orders when I arrived. It was a popular offer. I decided to use cash instead of debit card so I won't get secretly overcharged again. My order came to almost $11 with tax. I asked why is it $10.xx? She was confused. I showed her the offer on my phone before I ordered ( twice) and twice while trying to explain that was way too much. Again, she quoted $10.xx. I said, "How does $7 become $10?" She showed me the receipt, and said, "Yes, $7." Then once again quoted me $10.xx. I don't know if she was new or what, maybe stressed out. She seemed like a nice young woman, but boy were we having communication issues. Then she said $3 for the bacon. I said, "Bacon comes with it, why is there an extra $3?" I had asked for crispy bacon when I ordered, not extra bacon. At that point she said she pressed the wrong button. She fixed it. Then she told me they were out of bacon. I felt I was in a hidden camera skit at that point. She then said she had to cook more bacon. I said, no problem. I'll wait. They seemed to be behind on orders with 3 (or more) working. Again, no problem. I did hear a woman named Susan say she had been waiting 35 minutes, which means she was waiting at least 20 longer than me. Guess what? I got my order before her. Patient lady--sorry Susan. Oh, then the bread. Toasted white bread was what I ordered. That must be one heck of a toaster because my bread was chocolate brown. Apparently, they ran out of white. No one told me, but I heard it told to customers after me. They were given a choice of substitutions. I assumed they ran out after my order since no one talked to me. Well, I didn't get a choice in toast. Surprise! The sandwich was a decent size, especially with all the lettuce. Unfortunately, all I could taste was the bread. Literally no bacon, turkey or even tomato flavor. The tomato wasn't ripe, there was so little turkey and on on the top layer only, the bottom layer had none. I didnt taste mayo, the sandwich was very dry. I got a ton of lettuce though. And I really don't like iceberg lettuce. I love and miss Baggins after moving back to Texas. I really needed something with a vegetable for lunch and this was near by! The food was, as always with Baggins, amazing! That was, hands down, the best tuna salad salad I have ever had. Good portion, plenty of tuna salad (it has pickles in it, that's how I picked it over the chicken salad), and the "blush" dressing (a raspberry vinaigrette) paired perfectly! I devoured it. Granted, I was hungry and tired and running on junk food... But dang it was good! The guys really liked their sandwiches. My husband really liked the grilled cheese and my brother in law got a sandwich with egg salad on it... I can't recall the name. All salads can be ordered without the bread bowl. Service was eh. Lots of other orders out before ours but they were kinda busy... Food was great. Will go back if in the area again. read more

I have eaten at this location numerous times and always have the same sandwich, the Baggins Quickie Almond Alabacore Tuna on 12 grain bread. Love the 12 grain bread -- it is fresh, tastes very healthy and wholesome. The tuna is delicious and fresh. And, you get a yummy chocolate chip cookie along with your meal. The employees at this branch are friendly, appear to enjoy their work and make customers feel welcome. The restaurant could use a little refreshing but is clean. We visited the Baggin's on East Speedway recently for a midweek lunch. They had the tables moved around (several moved out of service to get the right spacing), everyone wearing masks, and no drink machines (staff brought out drinks and refills). We like to order the lunch special (half sandwich, side or chips, and drink). We like their cheesesteak, cowboy, club, unforgettable, and sundown sandwiches - but I would bet they are all good. Friendly and helpful staff and nice atmosphere at the East Speedway location. The food was mediocre and overpriced for what it is. I am not sure what is "gourmet" about this menu either. I paid over $15 for a dinky half grilled cheese sandwich with some jalapenos on it and a cup of tomato soup. It came with a fountain drink and a very salty piece of toast with some herbs. I love Baggins, especially on those evenings where I don't feel like cooking. I have them in speed dial and my food is always ready for pickup in just 10-15 minutes. Definitely beats ordering a pizza. I am a grilled cheese/tomato soup fanatic and after trying grilled cheese sandwiches all across Tucson I can say that their gourmet grilled cheese sandwich is the best!
