Sesame Bagel, Poppyseed Bagel, Plain Bagel
Talia B.

The service is super kind and helpful. I made a pick up order mentioning the missing salt bagel and was given 2 on the house. This is the only place I come to for bagels now lol. I wish they had egg bagel but I love getting poppy, everything, salt, plain, and sesame, My husband and I are also big fans of their salmon lox even though we kinda have ourselves the ick for smoked salmon but I had a lox bagel elsewhere literally two days after this one and the quality of Bageltopias salmon is unmatched fr. Cute shop and I was able to get some writing done in the back corner for a bit after enjoy my bagel brunch. Also want to confirm these freeze SO well, better than the other bagel spots around me that I've tried.

With a place being called Bageltopia this place truly doesn't disappoint and lives up to the name! They offer a pretty decent sized menu from breakfast bagel sandwiches to lunch ones which is very nice. Options galore when it comes to bagels too which is very nice and they make them all in house. I usually go with the Farmstand and it has the eggs over easy on top of a bunch of greens. Amazing flavor and a great start to the morning. The staff here is always very nice and they are usually really quick to get your order out even when they are very busy. The location is really nice too and they offer a ton of seating which is needed during to the demand of their yummy bagels! If you're in the North Berkeley area and needing a good fuel up for the morning or lunch this a really decent spot.

I love lox bagels, but I've been wanting to try a vegan alternative, so Yelp took me to Bageltopia! The interior (and exterior, with construction overlooked) was super cute and decorated for the Fall with pumpkins sprinkled around the store. There was no wait on a Friday afternoon and plenty of tables open. Lemon-topia: A vegan lox bagel that I quite enjoyed! I didn't taste as much of the lemon but it might've just been the half I ate. I love the greens + the vegan "salmon" itself, made out of carrots, was super yummy! Farmstand(?): We meant to order the Homestead to try the tofu scramble, but there was a slight miscommunication. Still, this one was delishhh with the basil butter and again, the greens just made our lunch super satisfying to eat. The everything bagel itself was also a wonderful texture. French Toast Bagel: These are sweet cinnamon-raisin bagel bites, and a great sweet balance to add to our savory bagels. Reminded me of a more dough-ey version of mall pretzel bites, topped with thick lemon-ricotta cream and maple syrup. Heavy, so I would never eat these on its own, but I enjoyed nonetheless. The person we ordered with was super nice + everybody here was just chill. Would love to come back to try all their vegan options.

Bageltopia was at the annual Bizerkeley Vegan Food Fest on September 7th this year! I can't believe this was my first time hearing of them, because I LOVE bagels. The team was very approachable and friendly even when we were just checking out the menu. They offered 3 items for the festival. We went with the Vegan Supernova ($7) which had house-smoked carrot in place of lox (smoked salmon)! Such a great deal for a food festival in my opinion. Every bite was so refreshing & I wish it was a full bagel so I had more to savor. I've never had smoked carrot before either, and honestly despite the lack of protein as a salmon replacement, it was actually really delicious. It was perfectly Smoky and even had an umami flavor profile! I was tempted to go back and ask if I could just buy a plate of the carrots. I really enjoyed the playful vibe of their logo & wonder how their store front is decorated to match! I can't wait to stop by to see what else they have to offer.

Bageltopia came highly recommended by a few friends! The inside is spacious with a decent amount of seating. The menu includes vegan and vegetarian options in addition to meat and other animal products. The menu also indicates that some of the bagels are hand-rolled! I ordered a New Jersey bagel, which came with eggs, sausage, cheese, and tomato jam. It was really good! I did order it on an everything bagel, but they accidentally gave me a plain bagel. No worries, though; it was still delicious! I stopped by the coffee shop Nextdoor to grab coffee to enjoy with my bagel. A very pleasant breakfast! I highly recommend.

Bageltopia shares the same building with Fellini's Coffeebar. Decor is mostly windows, beige and cream coloured walls. Seems most bagels, cream cheese, nova lox et. al are made in house as stated on menu. Offerings: cream cheese, bagels, bagel/vegan sandwiches, sweet stuff, specials, covfefe. Ordered at counter, pd, buzzer buzzed in 10ish minutes. Bites: supernova everything bagel (16) -2 open faced half toasted bagels. Piled high with fresh tasty morsels: house made smoked lox, cream cheese, red onions shreds, sliced tomato/cucumbers, dill, capers. Each complements subtly the prominent flava of the lox. Eating slowly each bite brings the nuanced flavas in distinct not muted. Bagel has nice chew, tastes overshadowed by stronger smoked lox. Easily the best lox bagel eaten in awhile. 4.8 stars. Worthy. Guantity: great, guality: superb.

I could not say enough great things about this place. We had driven by a few times and the cute design was what caught my eye. After looking them up I saw they had great reviews, great flavors, and a fantastic selection for both vegetarians and vegans. It was immediately a must that we had to stop in. My boyfriend tried a meat breakfast sandwich, I tried a vegan breakfast sandwich but added egg, and then we shared the bagel of the month. We also tried the carrot lox, which was delicious and Smokey. My breakfast sandwich was open faced and so full of flavor. The tofu scramble was not watery or bland like most places, it was perfect. The onions and arugula added a nice freshness to it. My partner was nervous for his sandwich to be plain or basic, but he was happily surprised to find that it was also extremely flavorful and delicious. The bagel of the month that we tried was a pesto bagel, and we got the veggie cream cheese. The bagel itself was full of pesto- you could see it throughout the bread. It was incredible. The cream cheese had a proper abundance of vegetables, and was lighter than most cream cheeses. We really appreciated this and it made us want to eat much more, instead of wiping the cream cheese off like some places. The bagels themselves were delectable. I like bagels, and have had good ones, but realized on this day I had never had one that was truly *great*. These are outstanding. Don't miss a chance to come here if you are nearby.

I have never had a bagel flight...until now. What a fun concept to try a variety of different cream cheeses on mini bagels for a party of one! This was the first time I've been to Bageltopia in Berkeley after driving by it all the time. So happy I finally made it in! Vibe is the good ol' order at the register, get a buzzer, sit down, buzzer goes off kind of feel. Also to note, there is parking in the rear of businesses fyi, that I didn't notice until I found metered street parking! Currently they have a fun, spring special where you can try three different cream cheeses on mini bagels including cream cheese flavors like date & honey, black garlic, and calabrian chili..yes please! I love bagels and have a specific bagel order, but it's a commitment. The choice of being able to have a sampling of what a bagel joint offers is genius! Would honestly love to see more of this in the East Bay.. The interior of this biz gives warm and cozy..love the bagel wall art and overall friendly atmosphere. They have lotsa vegan options so def a place to bring your friends too that are looking for alternatives. Other current Spring specials are a Banana Chocolate Chip Bagel and Garlic-Blue Cream Cheese..yum! Looks like from the menu, these bagels are boiled and baked. They also offer drip coffee, bagel sammies, lox options, salads, and more. Worthy of a trip to have a little brekky fun!

Our favorite was the Supernova! We loved how loaded it was and how fresh the bagel was. There is also lots of seating so it's the perfect place to study.

Friend and I stopped by for a bagel on a Sunday morning after coffee, and wow was this place packed! We found a cozy spot to sit that near the window where you can see the magic happening. I got a toasted salted bagel with garlic smear and lox on top. It was a delicious breakfast but the salt was very heavy handed on the bagel. Will come back to the the other flavors next time!

Black Pepper Parmesan Bagel with Black Garlic Cream Cheese
David K.

Bageltopia in Berkeley specializes in New York-style bagels with a California twist. They have a whole menu section with vegan options, but I tried the Lemonnova open-faced sandwich, made of house-smoked nova lox, lemon garlic aioli, baby greens, cucumbers, and onion sprouts, all served on two halves of a toasted bagel. I ordered the everything bagel, covered on both sides with poppy seeds, sesame seeds, and dried onion. The bagel was perfectly chewy and not too dense, though the nova lox slices were on the salty side. Their September special bagel was the Black Pepper Parmesan, which had a nice umami flavor combined with the chewy dough. The Black Garlic Cream Cheese had an indescribably unique garlicky, umami flavor as well, making for a tasty pairing!

Super classic on everything bagel
Amber C.

Passed by this stand at the Bizerkeley Food Fest. $5 for a superclasssic on everything bagel was a pretty good deal. It wasn't bad but wasn't anything that stood out. Wish they had roasted the bagel though, it seemed like they just put the cream cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, onion, dill, and capers on top. I had also expected it to be a whole bagel, but we only got the bottom half.

Bageltopia is another new entry in the Bay Area bagel landscape. What with incredible bagel spots like Boichik, Poppy's, and Beauty's all within a ten mile radius of each other, it's hard to imagine any new bagel shop standing out. And, the verdict? Bageltopia is just okay. A notch above your standard Noah's bagel but not a worthy contender for the top bagel spot in the east bay. Regardless, the bagels here are fresh, moist, and decently priced for the quality received. I ordered the sesame bagel with date honey cream cheese. The cream cheese portion left a bit to be desired but at the very least, the sesame bagel quality delivered in flavor and made up for the lack of spread.

I saw the fresh bagels and I went towards the small freezer. I got a package of the cinnamon raisin and ordered a pepperoni pizza bagel to go. They only have that topping and cheese only $7 & $8. Pizza bagels are served from 11 am on. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. You walk to your right when you come in and order and then go to the opposite side to pick up your order. There's a menu to look at on the counter. Lots of different bagels to choose from. You can order it toasted or not. And there's plenty of toppings and don't forget to ask what their daily special is. They have catering options (see the attached menu). The seating area is small & there's spots to sit outside. Parking is only on the street and they do have 1 handicapped parking by the front entrance. The fresh-frozen bagel is perfect once thawed and then toasted. I had mine with butter and it was great. I can't compare it to a NYC bagel (since I've never been there) but I enjoyed it. It would have been cool to see the factory pumping out bagels, but since I came by around 11, I'm guessing it was clean up time.

I brought home a half a dozen sliced bagels, a green onion and horseradish smear, a chai iced tea and a "Bougie" bagel. As bagels go, these were the quintessential perfect, chewy and soft, fragrant bagels. The cream cheeses were delish and perfect for family to build their fav bagel meal. The Chai, was what will keep me coming back, however! It was perfectly sweetened, versus the sickening sweet of many shops, with a nice oat foam on the top. Don't forget the cinnamon sprinkle, which added the fragrant element. I had to wrestle my 20 yo for it when I got home. Now I'm left craving more.
